When The Simpsons was in it's prime Family Guy and The Simpsons were on par but now with the ever-increasing slump in a lot of new simpsons episodes; it's possible that Family Guy may just overtake The Simpsons . I remember I used to look forward to a new Simpsons episode; well not anymore. Family Guy has the advantage of being able to parody almost anything which has paid off well in the Stars War's trilogy etc.

I will admit there are episodes of Family Guy I don't like but the good episodes will certainly have my eyes glued to the screen :) That "Then there were fewer" was something else! :D Though the Simpsons does sometimes have Excellent new episodes; the Bob Next Door was amazing so at least it's proof The Simpsons is hanging in there after all being a fan of the Simpsons and Family Guy I'd like both to produce good episodes for many years to come :)
