Mary: Not to turn into a pest but what is the NASA plaque doing on the right side of the organ? Just a stupid question out of pure curiosity...I don't recall seeing it in past videos...Thanks Dr Joe
Mary..What a pleasure it is to see your skills improve over the past two years. This has to be one of your best and certainly one of Bach's most difficult. Keep up the great work You have a great gift as well as the determination to be a great force in organ music in the 21st century Dr Joe
Just found you, uh, yesterday, actually. Was thinking today for some reason. Would love to see specs and photos of the facade of the organ. Have seen 1 or 2 but not very clear. You've mention POE several times? What is that? Have you ever tried Charles-Marie Widor's famous Toccata de la Symphonie #5 op. 42? Also would love to hear you play Bach's Tocatta BWV 565-- the one everybody knows!!
You played well; REALLY well. But your cameraman could have done a better job. The shaking around thing gave me a headache at times, and the constant clicking sounds followed by inconsistencies in volume were quite annoying. : )
try using a tripod stand or something, and the results would be more satisfying. : )
thanks! but yeah, sorry about all that. I'll re-record this piece and post soon. i tried earlier today, but ran out of memory then had to leave the church :p
is there something about feet that pleases you or something? (honest question)
are u one of those people that instantly notices that someone is not wearing dress socks because u have a foot fetish? even when theyre not showing u their socks?
plus theres no need to ask 3 or 4 times for a video of someones feet....
Since I'm not an organist myself, I cannot describe accurately my friend's technique, but what I have noticed in one of them is that she uses her feet and toes very fast on the pedalboard and you get the impression they "dance". She once told me that some organ pieces of Bach can be played by using a toe-technique without much heel movement, and she does it great . I wonder if the camera could film your footwork barefoot in a short piece- It would be great if you could do it, please!!
yeah you typically use no heels for bach. but there's still the issue of accuracy... and if i wanted to play something extremely fast, i wouldn't play it barefoot. i would probably pull a cameron carpenter. im not posting a video of me playing barefoot just to satisfy your obsession with feet.
It was a very nice and moving interpretation, congratulations!!!. I have also loved the camera close ups on your footwork/pedalling skills, just one suggestion- could you try playing it (especially the pedal solos) barefoot?, If you let your feet in contact with the pedals, the pedalling would be easier and faster and your toes more flexible, I hope you can give it a try and the camera could film it
Thanks to you for your reply Tuttiplaya, very kind of you to take your time. To answer your question I'm not an organist myself, but I have some lady friends who do (or have tried to) play the organ barefoot and, for them, this method has improved and worked wonders on their pedalling and footwork technique,Could you maybe someday film some of the pieces you play barefoot so we can see your pedalling at work?, that would be nice even if its a short piece or Bach.
thats interesting... because if i'm not wearing organ shoes, my toes are further apart and it makes note accuracy much more difficult than necessary... also, its much harder to play with your heels if not wearing organ shoes. i'm wondering what sort of technique your lady friends have.
Nice work :-)

You played that wonderfully. I was in heaven. - so many people play that too fast and it looses it's thrust. You got it perfect.

Dude, one rejection is enough. Don't be a stalker; you seem to have enough feet-ish(<---lol) material on your own page. 'nuf 'ced

i play barefoot sometimes, but i find it much easier to play while wearing organ shoes, for accuracy and everything.
are you an organist yourself?
