  • wish my headphones could go louder

  • the movie just brings out the child in everyone and now so does the soundtrack.

  • who wouldnt like this song

  • carol♥

  • <3

  • THE MOST UNAPPRECIATED MOVIE OF THE CENTURY.

  • @caesarsaysno indeed

    along with District9

  • only 207300 views?? im pretty sure ive heard this song a LOT more than that

  • After watching this movie, I made it a point to never say no again when my little brother asked to play with him. We've had the best adventures.

  • I took my little sister to see this movie. When I heard they were making a movie I felt like a little kid. My sister never read the books. We saw the movie and and got hooked on this song. The movie was AWESOME

  • Ha! everytime I see the movie I always put the valume very high when this song begins

  • Unfortunately I never read the book but I saw the movie and it was pretty good. I mainly saw it because they had Arcade Fire in the trailer and I'm a huge fan of theirs. I'm also sort of a fan of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs but I didn't know that they had songs in here. (or at least Karen O did)

  • "Don't go...i'll eat you up i love you so."

  • Their Love sounds fun, i want it ^-^

  • my favorite song in the whole movie:)

  • 2009 feels like FOREVER ago!!!

  • The hardest thing Ive ever had to do was let go of myself. I remember who I used to be more then I know who I am now. When you share your life and dreams with some one they become apart of you. When you lose them its like losing yourself. Well I liked myself then and it was the first time in a long time. Whoever said Love is a Wonderful thing is right, Hold onto the love and never stop believing in Fairy Tales. I cant ever let go of that part of myself. I cant decipher reflections from reality.

  • when i read the book when i was a little kid (like 6 yrs old) i tsked at Max and his antics thinking that i was grown up and mature like that. when i read it again a few years later i cried at how poignant it was. it makes you want to be a real kid again like there's something we missed out on or forgot when we grew old...the way we just FELT emotions and whined and threw silly tantrums until we got things our way. instead of harbouring all these things inside us and having them fester slowly D:

  • L-O

    V-E

    It's a

    Mystery

  • I read this book and bought it at a book fair when I was about 8 or maybe 10 I loved it then and still love it

  • L - O - V - E IS A WONDERFUL THING <3

  • Without being American: Oh how I love America, she's truly where the wild things are...

  • i love good music like this.

  • CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE? I DON'T FOUND THE SOUNDTRACK AT THE END WHEN MAX GO TO HOME AND CAROL CRIES WHEN LOOKS IN THE CAVE THE HEART WITH A C

  • I'm gonna get a Max suit for Christmas and put Rumpus, All is Love, and Animal, Sailing Home, and Heads Up on repeat and run through the woods...:D Then I will listen to the slow songs as I build my fort. :)

  • i think the movie was based more on the chapter book then the little book, but the chapter book was based off the little book sooo...

  • or download it from youtube!

  • The soundtrack of this movie, is in my opinion, one of the best of all times!

  • wow this came out exactly one year ago

  • I just loved the moment this song started playing in the movie. It completed the scene. It took you by the hand and let you feel you were a kid again, playing with those lovable and incredible monsters. I absolutely love this movie. Spike Jonze is a genius, and this is his masterpiece.

  • Does anyone know what that sad one where Max is standing on the cliff watching the sea is called? It was really pretty, had a lot of piano in it.

  • this movie is awesome ..it reminds me of what clementine said in eternal sunshine ...some ppl dont understand how lonely it is to be a kid ...

  • this was a pretty sad movie, but it was good i liked it. except it was very depressing......

  • @kuromigang

Not really, it's exactly how kids used to be and feel about 20 years ago. Imagine that the book to the film was written in 1963. Hard to understand for the nowadays kids who live in fake plastic happiness and are interested in Mylie Cyrus. Not that it's their fault though.

  • Since the poster says not to steal it, Lets steal it!

Im downloading it now for free and you cant stop me >:P

  • This is a good song :D

  • I love it!!!!!!!!

  • LOVE THIS MOVIE

  • Where the Wild Things are was a surprisingly depressing movie. o.o I still enjoyed it, though. Less of a kids movie than it is a movie about a kid's mind, I guess. :D

  • essa música é linda e consegue mexer com o coração, principalmente na hora do filme...

  • awesome film!!!!!!

  • I love this song.

  • thank you so much for uploading :D this soundtrack is sooo awesome! *-* i love it

  • This song makes me feel like a child..love it! all I want to do is run :D

  • @cristiancol i want to do the same thing....this song makes me think of this dream i uses to have when i was a kid........i was running towards a giant building...like in the movie...... weird

  • I HATE IT when people say they HATE this movie!!!!! Most people besides my sisters are the only ones who like it. I have the worst friend of decding of what they want to do and I keep asking her if she wants to see it but she was like "NO!" and I was like "You know, I really hate you right now." But still, I ♥ this movie and there's nothing you HATERS Of "Where The Wid Things Are" can do about it :)

  • wirklich ein toller film. und ein sehr gut passender soundtrack dazu. where the wild things are: noch einmal kindsein für erwachsene. all is love: wie könnte es auch anders sein? danke für den sound, danke für diesen speziellen film. freundliche grüsse, myotis034

  • wat are all the names of the songs??

  • this song is soo cute it reminds me of me and my friends!(:agree?thumbs up!(:

  • I finally watched this movie last night and I loved it <3 It really captured what it feels lke to be a kid. Great movie! Soundtrack is amazing!!! Karen O always amazes me!

  • absolutely love this soundtrack...

  • AWESOME SONG

  • best mother fuckn movie ever

  • I don't remember him having a Sister in the book, or the snowball fight. I like the part where carol says " Oh. That's just a giant dog. Don't feed it or it'll follow you around for days."

  • @cherryprincess981 yeah lol that part was kinda random

  • @cherryprincess981 me too

  • @cherryprincess981,

Well Yes, but if they make the movie like the book it would be to short. They have to change the movie so its a bit more realistic, you know. The book is very short, so like I said, You wouldn't exactly wanna watch a movie that's like 30 seconds long, :)

  • @cherryprincess981 the book was 9 sentances lolz XD

Spike Jones took his own spin on the whole thing

  • @cherryprincess981 When you're making a movie about a book with what 15 lines? I think you have to expand on that a bit.

  • @cherryprincess981 The book is very minimalist. Never says what happened to his dad, if he has a sister or not, or anything like that. Just simply a kid who plays too out-of-control and gets punished, but goes to the Wild Things land to escape.

Fortunately, this movie is a pretty damn good representation of Maurice Sendak's vision, since he was on set for it the whole time during filming and always gave the "ok" on scenes.

  • @cherryprincess981 Sadly, directors feel they need to change the story a bit when they turn a book into a movie. They think if they remake it exactly like the book, all that you'll need to do is read the book and you have basically seen the movie after reading it. So that's why they alter the story a bit

  • @HimynameisKegan well, the book is pretty short, they took the story and expanded it. I think they did a wonderful job!

  • awesome song you really imagine this world, this world of fantasy this pretty world :=)

  • i used to read the books with my mom at night but now i so want to see the movie! =) Cool song by the way, 5/5!=)

  • Again, I don't believe it was his imagination. The wild thing island was a physical manifestation.

  • whole point is it was imagination......

thats what the story is about.

  • i think ever one of those monster bear lovable thingys had something in common with max like they each had a part of him like when hes mad or sad or happy each one symbolism him in one way

  • @thebassims

Yeah each monster was max actually one of his emotions.

  • @Bronxguyanese Or representations of how he sees his family members. The most prominent example of this would be the unseen father, Carol specifically says at one point that "Max you can have anything you want in the world if you set your mind to it," a phrase thats used in the beginning from an enscription on a gift given to Max by his father. The women monsters were changed from their book designs to resemble Max's mother and his sister as well. Everything from the beginning gets repeated too.

  • @Bronxguyanese THEIR WEREN'T MONSTERS! THEIR CREATURES OR "WILD THINGS"!!!!!

  • @thebassims That's pretty much it. Each monster represents a piece of Max or someone in his family.

  • @thebassims i never thought of it like that, that makes total sense!

  • @thebassims like the girl carol like i thought of her a sisterly figure of how we wanted his sister to be like

  • @gohan96 Carol is a boy. I think he's like a father to Max. KW was a Sister/Mother

  • @thebassims

haha yeah! i just watched the movie yesterday and i was thinkin the same thing!

  • @thebassims I always thought they were different people in Max's life, but now I'm not so sure. I like your take on it.

  • @thebassims thats exactly right actually!

  • @thebassims u got it! thats mainly the point of the monster bear lovably thingys in the movie :)

  • @thebassims Yes, that is true. They are all a different part of his personality. Each one is a representation of him. The movie is up to you to decide if he actually met these beings, or if he just dreamed it all.

  • @rubixxcube I think it could be that the monsters are all recreations of people in his life. That's what I first thought, anyway, but I haven't evaluated it that much

  • The boat, everything where he travel was suposed to be an escape from the real world in his mind, I'm pretty sure everyone who's been in arguments with their parents go to their room and just reflect on the things they done, for max it was his imagination that helps him realise the problems and how it reflected him

  • I like the movie but the kid is a butthead. And his mom is weird cuz she gave him chocolate cake after he ran away for like a week!!!!!!!!!

  • he ran away for a few hours.. not a week.

  • No. it was actually probally a few days cause they went to bed at some parts of the movie. THE KID IS A BUTTHEAD THOUGH!!

  • ahh but here's where you are mistaken. that period of time was in his imagination, just as were the wild things and everything else that occurred in this film

  • But then why did he ride a boat? You can't ride a boat to your imagnation, or else I'd do it all the time!!!!

  • I don't believe the wild things were meant to be a part of his imagination.

  • @punchNathan it wasnt his imagination

  • Yeah Max is a butthead, he's a wild thing. Duh. He was gone for a few hours, not days, and what did you want his mom to do beat the living crap out of him? yeesh!

  • my friend showed me this song and i lov it. where the wild things are yoused to be my favret book when i was a kid and i can still quote the hole book word for word!

  • i was just sad a moment ago and hearing this song made me smile really big

  • Oh man, if my older sister saw this movie, she'd be crying her eyes out. This movie was intense and deep and this soundtrack rocks! although my friends and I have discussed it, we think that Wake Up by The Arcade Fire should've been played when max started smiling when he left. :) I love this movie!!!

  • What is this??

She is shrieking like a dying sheep. Just hold the note woman. HOLD THE NOTE.

  • @hidetolove this has to be the funniest comment on youtube

  • @hidetolove Uh. There supposed to sound like that. The director got mad cause a singing coach tried to make them sound better but he kicked her out.

  • i love this song i hum this in my head while in school thx for uploading it

  • me too zD

  • yeah i loved the book and the movie but i felt really depressed when he left the island cause all the creatures looked sad but the little boy who played max i think his name was he was effin adorable (:

  • I love the movie and the book even more!

  • This was a surprisingly depressing and intense film. But the soundtrack kicks ass.

  • best movie ever i have posters everywhere!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome song!!! Im gonna see the movie!

  • @h2ostar hes ten

  • i loved this movie

  • this is such a cute song!!! i never saw the movie though but i wanna see it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You have to! It's a wonderful movie ;)

  • i love this film soooo much!! ^^ it made me cry.

  • i love all the music to the sound track ;D

  • this film was SO SAD its unbelievable

this song makes me cry every time i listen which is unfortunate because i can't stop listening, im like a moth drawn to the flame

one reason why this film is so sad is because there are so many people out there like their family but nothing life changing will come for them, real or on their heads

  • @skatereatsmonster actually no it wasnt, it was really depressing for a kids movie tho :S

  • I don't think it's a kids movie. They maybe just think about the funny monsters and don't understand the film

  • true true, but then again we put alot past kids and think they dont notice

  • You really can't tell. I mean, when I watched the film, a row in front of me a young child cried so much when Max ran away. But he also laughed when the monsters jump around and make jokes.

  • Lol, you're funny.

  • lol thanks, and to the people who gave me a thumbs down, you all know i have a good point but are too busy with your heads up ur asses to realise so have a good day :)

  • ... i'm pretty sure for you to have a good point you would have had to of seen the movie first and from your wording of the first comment you havent... so your point is moot good day you might wanna shampoo your hair after you pull it out of your butt most people dont care for the smell. good day :)

  • lol i've seen it three times, way to turn my dis on me shows how creative you really are, and that's why your not a movie script writer lmao so figure out a dis on your own and maybe, just maybe i can show you some espect but until then fuck you have a nice day and see you in hell (Y) :D oh and moot isn't a word dear stranger

  • Comment removed

  • ...wow... you sure are a dumb ass. I haven't read the debate yet but just taking the last part of your post....

    adjective

1.open to discussion or debate; debatable; doubtful: a moot point.

2.of little or no practical value or meaning; purely academic.

3.Chiefly Law. not actual; theoretical; hypothetical.

  • wow i like how u think i care what you think about me, oh well call me names lol couldn't careless wtf you think of me i bet your just a lil 13 year old who thinks hes tough cuz he can go on the internet and say bad words

  • Which song plays when Max first runs away from home, and his mum chases him and is shouting after him?

  • Isn't it Capsize?

  • Pretty sure that's track 3: capsize

  • Enjoyed exploring the depths of imagination with this movie. Fun song.

  • Everytime i hear this song it makes me cry!

I loved the movie, but i thought it was short.

  • what a cute song.

  • I was watching some bad movie awards going on as a post this, and they had an award for best child actor... They had this kid nominated... And you know who won? The friggin girl from lovely bones! The critics may have seen it, but its currently 2010 and its not in the PUBLIC yet! This eight year old kid managed to act in the best movie about childhood ever imaginable, and an eighteen year old girl (give or take a few years) won for a movie not even out? I hate the world sometimes.

  • That is stupid that movie shouldn't have qualified. Doesn't take anything away from Max though, he still dominated!

  • @EpicnessInABox Where the wild things are should have gotten the award. But the lovely bones is such a good movie.

  • OH MY GOD I love this song! It's such a cute song!

  • awh i cried too . this movie was soo cute (:

  • are these songs all sang by the same person? if so who is it?

  • karen o. she's the lead singer of the yeah yeah yeahs and spike jonze's ex-girlfriend

  • karen o (and the kids)

  • amazing film, so well shot. spike jonze did the book juistice

  • shit so much spam in these videos... I love this song anyways.

  • i schoked of the move where carol said to max i eat you and max runned but too where carol angry of kw was

but carol is my favorite thing X333

  • this movie is fantastic. face stamp. almost cried but i dont care :)

  • i cried in this movie(':

  • did they just dress in costumes to make the movie? It was a great movie!

  • not just, well they did dress up, and then on a computer they added facial expressions.

  • People who cares?! It doesn't matter if Miley's song is better then WTWTA. The point is that this movie was wonderful and has a great soundtrack =3

  • aw (:

  • i love that movie!

  • BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA Miley Cyrus' (no s needed hon) the climb is a terrible, terrible song. It is stereotypical, corny, and a jumble of cliché. The guitar, singing, and lyrics are derivative and simplistic. This song is fresh, interesting, and well written. The Climb is only popular because it appeals to the lowest common denominator, much like Ernest Scared Stoopid.

  • seriously, God i hate that song!!!! my station kept [playing it once every fucking 30 mins!!!!!!

  • I think you misspelled bleah, right?I think you meant ---->beautiful,yes.Miley really needs to find another planet to live on.

  • <3333 i love this.

  • good song :)

  • love it,

  • i wanna see this movie soo bad but idk if its still in theatres :[

  • it actually seemed realistic when he went on the boat to the island... i thought i would be more kinda magical cus its his imagination. yes? no? you no like peter pan or james and the giant peach classic childrens movies.

    it was okayyyy

  • It was real to him.

    That's the essential idea.

  • those are cartoons

  • This was a beautiful movie with great cinematography but it might be a little disturbing for children because it had some very disturbing scenes.

  • i love it it is awso =].

  • This movie was depressing and it made me cry... the book made me happy . . . but I did like the movie : ( : )

  • i think the monster sort of portrays a little piece of max but idk that same piece is in us all :P and i think the movie was meant for the kids who read it as kids because were alot older so we could handle it. It is a great movie and very moving and does a great job of putting you in max's shoes.

    GOOD MOVIE 5 STARS!!! :D

  • This movie made me cry sooo hard!!

  • I love the songs in this movie, so peaceful :)

Hahahha it was a strange movie; I liked it!

  • Id like to see you do anything better.

  • i actually think the movie has a good moral story to it, but the way the moral is told is depressing.

  • this song is SO cute!! I can't wait to see the movie! Hope it isn't as bad as everyone says. I think it looks cute :]

  • Its a very simple movie. Nothing really starts or gets resolved. Its like a chapter where two different books meet for a second. Its really sweet and enjoyable.
