  • @speedreadingclasses I've trained for 2 days now, and I already read 400-450 WPM. But I tend to fall back in the habit of saying every word (in my head(when I've read for a couple of minutes)), is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?

  • @MMLauritsen the guy on learn to speed read! by mathcrazytutoring has an exercise for this

  • 420 .. and i deliberately paced myself to "simulate" a normal 1 min. session..will hv to try a spurt

  • I think that some commenters need to work on their arithmetic before they move on to speed reading.

I got 330 on a novel in French, 430 on an singing manual, and a slightly ridiculous 620 on the article on their website. I don't think I'm going to bother with the rest of the tutorial.

  • wow!!! 1460wpm...I guess I really don't need the speed reading thingy after all...I'm content...I think I have this thing now...wow...and to think I hated reading...I read a book (front to back) in its entirety well after high school...funny how books are like candy to me now...hehehehe

  • holy. 1458 wpm!!!

  • 1290wpm baby! My religion class textbook.focused and efficient.

  • wow, 414wpm and no training!

  • 351, suck on that!

  • 271, lol :P. I'll take it (Y).

  • Try the Evelyn Wood speed reading program. It worked for me, just the book works. I went from 260 to 771 wpm in one week now I do avg 1500 or better a minute. The mind can be trained to perform better its just that our 'education' doesn't do it.

  • This is a fucking waste of time. dont go to the site

  • i readed the numbers does that count?

  • i read medium material at 506 a minute.

  • i had a 320 wpm wow

  • He says that the 'average' reading speed of 150-250 WPM is based on 1 minute of reading, meaning that they measure a 1 minute 'burst' rather than say, 1 random minute somewhere in a 10 minute reading stretch, or simply averaging over a longer reading period.

He asserts that the real average reading speed is probably slower over the long run. This seems backward to me - when told to read for exactly 1 minute, there's no context so you start with unfamiliar material - there's no flow.

  • A very professional presentation. This is great!
