I have this movie on videotape and I've seen at least 300 or 400 times over my childhood (I'm going to be 18 in a couple of weeks). This movie should have made way more than the $20.3 million it made during its time in theaters in the summer of 1990, but I've read it did WAY better on home video.

George kinda reminds me of Jack Lemmon, and anybody who voices George from now on will have my utmost comtempt, Jeff Bergman for instance who did fill ins for both O'Haleran and Blanc. It's too easy to tell the difference between the voices, and how i feel when someone besides Casey Kasem playing Shaggy.

RIP George O'Hanlon aka George Jetson. The day he finished recorded his role, he collapsed at the end of the session and died of a stroke in the booth :( At least he died doing what he loved.

@AlainRacette1986 the voice actor was actually George O'Hanlon. i looked it up, and yes, you're correct, he did pass away in the studio. the film was dedicated in memory of him as well as mel blanc.

@jbbremerton Yep, it was O'Hanlan. I deleted my old comment when I realized my mistake (I recently watched something with Jack O'Halloran and their names are similar). I replaced it with the revised one since YT doesn't have an edit feature.

@AlainRacette1986 Did you also know that at the time of making this movie and the '80s TV episodes, George O'Hanlon had to record his lines separately, because at the time he'd suffered a big stroke leaving practically blind and with very short term memory, so he had to have each line spoken to him so he could repeat it back.

It's good to know he recorded all of his lines before he died, but it's unfortunate that several of them had to be re-recoreded by a different guy to sync with the animation or H-B decided after some time they didn't like a particular take or Universal wanted some scenes extended and such.

SOmebody needs to poat Jetsons; The Movie because I think it's great. I first saw it in summer school One of my friends had the video and said" even though this is a musical, it's good' so one of em put it on and I enjoyed it so much. A year later I found the movie at Camp O'Fun where I watched it all the time and every week. Back in January I recorded it off of TCM. I couldn't have pictured TCM play animated movies but they did. It definetley beats the crap out of Hannah Montana Movies.

I just bought the new DVD of "Jetsons The Movie", and I have to say it's a bit disappointing. I can't say I'm surprised that there isn't any really special features for this movie since the movie itself wasn't all that memorable, but at the very least DVDs like that include a trailer. Also there's no scene selection whatsoever, which until now is unheard of for DVDs. The only plus side is that I finally have the movie in perfect quality, and in widescreen!
