People who complain about winter in Winnipeg annoy me! Why stay if it affects you so much that 5 months of the year you are complaining? Winnipeg winters don't suck, people just don't know how to deal with them. I wouldn't sit on a beach without sunscreen so why are people venturing out in a hoody and runners? No boots? No ski pants? :S

My advice: Bundle up and head outside. It is great exercise and quite enjoyable once you are properly prepared.
