Definitely, its really hard to keep clean. I'll wash it one day and it's back to the way it was the next. Black is my favorite color & I wanted mine black on black. Still working on that LOL but personally i think it looks the best out of all colors. It's really up to you and if you're willing to wash your car every weekend like a lot of guys out there.
What type of camera where you using? I've been wanting to start making some higher quality videos, instead of using an iPhone or whatever point and shoot is available. Too bad the Canon 400d's don't shoot video or I'd be set.
We are using the Sony V1U. It's not the best camera but ok as far as image quality goes. The way to go is getting an hd dslr, its the way video is moving towards now and has for a while. I know you mentioned you have a Canon, well the t1i & t2i shoot video and are not that expensive compared to the 7d and 5d. They both have great image quality capabilities. The only draw back is that audio isn't that great. You should definitely look into it.

Note when driving the car, for the interiour shots, like the tachometer, use a tripod. If you want to shoot the landscape from the moving car, use a steadicam.
