Sycamore Trees Written by: David Lynch (lyrics), Angelo Badalamenti (music) I got idea man You take me for a walk Under the sycamore trees The dark trees that blow baby In the dark trees that blow And I'll see you And you'll see me And I'll see you in the branches that blow In the breeze, I'll see you in the trees Under the sycamore trees
@MsSarjen Yes it is included on the soundtrack for the movie "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me". Although in the film you only hear it as an instrumental track, on the CD it's this version with the vocals.
love it or hate it (and i'm definitely in the love it category), you've got to admit that the finale was one of the most affecting pieces of television ever recorded. first time i watched it it stayed with me for weeks! i
This show is so awesome, and it's creepier than any modern horror movie. It leaves a chill down your spine, and I think this segment captures that eerie coolness perfectly.
I see the metaphor in this video. When people die, like my life partener Duane died, they go where they are not visible, but influence the randomness that makes reality physical. So we can still see them in the "branches that blow", a metaphor for the reality that we still inhabit. We have free-will but it is loaded like the dice Einstein dispised, with the uncertaincy provided by the souls of those who have passed. God bless my Duame. For he loved more than anyone. And his "branches" blow.
Usually i hate this kind of music but this one as something that get me stick to it only one thing that i don`t like about this song is that she is so short
@TheBackseatJesus it is the very last scene of the tv series.......... next...... the bank blows up..... and money falls everywhere, onto the pine trees....... then the glasses fall on the branch of the pine tree.... as money falls and falls..... (as a symbol of ..... "SEE!" SEE WHAT'S GOING ON????) The cursed land we walk upon in AMerica... our dreams haunted by ghosts of the past and the present........ Native America.... destroyed...... ahhh David... genius
@bartepixie, thats a nope. im actually watching the finale, the current scene shown in this video. its from "Beyond Life and Death", roughly around half hour mark.
@TheBackseatJesus is from the last episode of season 2 "the path to the black lodge" the best episode of the series by far... even though that wasn't the ending that Lynch wanted but he pulled it off just great!
@nanuaraq0409 The singer is Jimmy Scott, a/k/a Little Jimmy Scott. If you like him there is more on You Tube. I highly recommend his rendition of Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child.
Why do the cancell the shows that are so damn good? People didn't care until it was gone! Damn. Mr. Lynch shold have been allowed to finish his tale. :(
@awhook221 He did, he knew ahead of time that it would be canceled and decided that instead of just letting it "end" or sloppily wrapping things up too fast to end it on a good cliffhanger instead.
As you guys may or may not know - this was actually diolog from David Lynch's dream project called "Ronny Rocket". A script he wrote after Erasurhead. Here is the script text:
GIRL:
I got idea, man...you take me for a walk ( she moves closer to the guy) under the sycamore trees (closer) the dark trees that blow, baby. In the dark trees I'll see you and you'll see me...I'll see you in the branches that blow in the breeze...I'll see you under the trees.
You know when I die and go to Hell/The Black Lodge I'm gonna be pissed if Jimmy Scott isn't there to great me like cheron the fairyman of the dead. Kind of like Bill and Ted when they go to Hell and declare they totally got lied to by their album covers.
god damn... i dont even know how to say it... this is just the most dark, strange, and beautiful scene that just captures the black lodge so perfectly.
I've always wanted to have a room in my house done up in herringbone flooring, red drapes, and Greek sculpture just so I can go into my own black lodge.
It's amazing! I already said it in the comment of black lodge part 1! This sequence and this absolutely wonderful song are just PERFECT for the beginning of the black lodge sequence!!! It's like a presentation!! And the mood of it, it's so freaky, so spooky! With all that flashing lights and the midget dancing and cooper watching... my god! A perfect way to end one of the greatest TV shows of all time!!!
How can people dislike this? This is ART at its finest.
