This is not opera. Besame Mucho is a 20th century Mexican love song. That being said, Paul did have a great voice and he even sounds operatic at times in this clip. He would have done well I think, if he'd trained his voice classically.

"Besame Mucho" is an old chestnut.  I'm sure there are actual recordings of this song that sound just like this. Very funny. (though I like the Beatles version from the anthology/Decca session, my fav version is Diana Krall's. I'm sure it's here someplace...)

yes, it's on Anthology 1. It was taken from the Decca Audition tape. Brian Epstein insisted they perform it for Decca. Decca didn't like it, Decca didn't sign them, and the rest is Beatles history.
