  • what if your on public transportation do you still need CCL and can it be loaded?

  • does it have to be unloaded to open carry like in california

  • one of the best things about ohio, the weather still sucks

  • I love Ohio!

  • Nicely said.

  • @CaptainNensho your a commie, move to russia, you'll be proud to know that they still do not have rights. Have a great time!! And know that you are hated by all Marines ;D

  • Cool, next time I go to the grocery I'm hauling my M60 along!

  • @Dougster I doubt you have one.

  • Just , in a car or truck you need a ccw what about on a motorcycle?

  • I'm in Newark to & have been surrounded by cops who drew their guns on me because i was openly carrying the reason they gave is I looked suspicious carrying on a bicycle, i was very polite with all but one of them because she was extremely rude with me, so much so that the other cops asked her to stop, any way thanks for the open carry info & the ORC info

  • what the hell would you need open carry for in ohio? so you and your sister can shoot the corn before you fuck each other?

  • @CaptainNensho For people like you. :D

  • @CaptainNensho

    TO: Capt. Assmuncher

A fisherman alone, especially at night, is a sitting duck for a human predator...or feral dogs...or feral hogs.

About 10 years ago I almost got savaged by 2 ex-cons while night fishing at a large O-High-O reservoir.

My S&W Snubbie saved my ass and I didn't have to fire a shot.

    The maggots were thoroughly deterred.

Their pig girlfriends called the cops.

Short Version: I walked and got the gun back from the cops the next day.

    btw, you're a judgemental asshole.

  • I live near Akron and I have never once saw anyone open carry. I do have my permit.

  • @TheJer1963 i live in akron too. i will be taking advantage of this law now that im well informed about it

  • @conroy426 Glad to hear that. Seems like Akron has become the old west now. I don't think a day goes by without someone being shot or robbed. I read where people are moving out of the city in record numbers.

The police dept. is 100 officers understaff. We have to protect ourselves now.

  • thank you for making this very detailed video explaining clearly what ohio open carry laws are for firearm carry in public.

  • i open carry in columbus everyday...

  • Hello I am a new resident to Ohio as of about 2 yrs ago. I have lived in Wv mostly my whole life and I DO carry concealed, however... I have been trying like hell to find out if it is lawful to open carry LOADED in the state of Ohio?? Some states restrict this ability and some do not... Is Ohio one of those who restrict LOADED open carry?

  • @gmanbeavis Yes its legal. Ohio does not restrict the method of open carry. IE cocked locked with one in the pipe is perfectly legal.

  • @gmanbeavis it's only restricted in your car. you can't open carry a loaded gun in the car. the magazines \ speedloaders have to be empty and out of reach. exactly like you would carry your hunting gear, empty and in the trunk basically... you can open carry in your car with a concealed carry permit. probably because it techincally is "concealed" from the police, if they pull you over... it's not in a holster on the side of the car. ;)

  • I got a question if anybody has an answer...... I live in chillicothe, can you open carry in city limits or are their rules against it?

  • @superchase08 Google ORC 9.68 & read it until you really grasp it. Cities are no longer allowed to make thier own gun laws now. All local laws are null & void. The only places you are restricted from carrying is where a STATE OR FEDERAL law OR private property forbids it.

Cleveland challenged 9.68 & the case went all the way to Ohio Supreme court and Cleveland lost. Not only can a city not make thier own law, if they do & it''s challenged they have to pay money. In automobiles you need a CHL.

  • @rottman43055 Thanks for the quick reply! I really appreciate it, i make sure to brush up on it and read the ordinance before i start carrying

  • @superchase08 I dont know but come to Athens Ohio. I am in the process of doing a Open Carry trash clean up to premote this!

  • When Ron Paul is elected I will get to have my country back.....and carry a concealed weapon along with all my other constitutional rights.

  • you could have stopped the video after you remembered that the pigs arent gonna listen anyways

  • Hey, just found out today that the Great State of Ohio is an Open Carry State. Do you need to have a Concealed Carry license to Open Carry a handgun?

  • @FWalshingham No, but the catch is you DO need one to open carry inside your vehicle.

  • Nice video thank you.

    Andy

  • @knucklehead, Yes, LOADED. An unloaded gun isn't much good LOL

  • @rottman43055 this is such a touchy topic, theres so much confussion as far as laws and regulations, some people say yes you are, and others say depends what city you are in ohio

  • @KnuckleheadGraphics : Wrong, but I know many are uninformed. Ohio has always been an OC state. NOW to reaffirm that was have revised code 9.68. Cleveland suied Ohio and the Ohio Supreme Court handed them thier ass and even ruled in favor of recouping lawyer fees for suing a city etc for having laws contrary to 9.68.

Sign up on Ohians for concealed carry forums, go to the open carry section (u can only see it when signed in) and read up on it.

  • can you open carry a holstired hand gun that is loaded in ohio?

  • Are you still open carrying in Ohio? If so are you noticing that people are becoming more aware of the concept and does it seem to be more accepted, less, or no difference?

  • @CopingWithTheTimes It is really catching on. My friends and I hold open carry dinners here locally and attend as many as we can elsewhere in Ohio. Last one I attended was in Bevercreek and there where around 40 people showed up OCing at 5 guy burgers.

  • @rottman43055 Glad to hear that! Keep up the good work.

  • @mybkyv i live in pennsylvania and the laws are pretty much the same as ohios, no you cant carry on a motor bike without a license to carry. ya its a stupid law that makes no sense.

  • In Louisiana, if someone tries to steal your car, while you're in it or while it's on your property, you can shoot them. It's one of the only things I like about this place.

  • What about an open carry on a motorcycle?

  • @mybktv Until a few years ago, when riding a motorcycle you HAD to have the weapon IN PLAIN VIEW, open carried, now our wonder state has revised the law and you can carry concealed OR open on a motorcycle, I had the same question last summer when i got my first motorcycle.

  • @mybktv Until a few years ago, when riding a motorcycle you HAD to have the weapon IN PLAIN VIEW, open carried, now our wonder state has revised the law and you can carry concealed OR open on a motorcycle, I had the same question last summer when i got my first motorcycle.

  • I am assumeing that all this goes out the window if you are a fellon?

  • Yes to open carry and go USA : )

  • where we are in ohio, cops take a hour to respond, if not longer,& they DO think they can make laws as they go.even disagreeing with them with open proof. they will arrest you and put you on the floor, so i think im having to stick with shot guns and rifles.im 17 for just a few more months.and aint got a gun yet,

but need one for home defence, cant count on 911 here.does anyone know if being bipolar will stop you from being able to have guns? (by law)

  • @InVok3thaunknown Here in AZ we have state laws pre-empting other jurisdictions and localities from "makeing the laws as they go" they have to fallow Arizona state law

  • @InVok3thaunknown I don't think there's a law against owning guns if you're bi-polar. I, myself am bi-polar and can walk into any pawn shop and buy an ak-47....i'm pretty sure a court has to find you a safety risk to yourself or others, etc.

  • @DeAdiSSu3 ah icic, thankz man,

  • Where can I get the book you spoke of in this video?

  • @Drummingwizkid Should be able to get one at your county Sheriffs dept. or from any concealed handgun instructor. You can also download it from the Ohio Attorney Generals website. Thanks, Don

  • @rottman43055 Thank You sir.

  • Cleveland will arrest you!

  • how about a rifles, i was thinking about doing it with an ak47 on my back, figured the bigger the scene the bigger impact it will have

  • so let me get this right, it is legal to open carry, according to Ohio State law, with or without a ccw permit?

  • @ohmr431 That is correct. However in a car you must have a CHL to carry open or concealed.

  • @rottman43055 ok so look CHL what is that?? Is that "carry handgun licenses"? because I tell you right now all I need is my CCW to carry my 380 concealed in my car and concealed around areas that don't have signs against guns being carry or restricited areas. So, my CCW and all the info I have for it states that I carry a concealed handgun in my car, home, around town other then the restricted areas. I never heard CHL referring to CCW. This is not the orignal person that posted this is the wife

  • @ohmr431 CHL stands for Concealed Handgun License which is technically what you have. A CCW is a concealed carry weapon, not the license itself.

  • Congrats, your behavior is an example!

  • i got my ccw and i carry half and half i put the gun on my side and dont worry about it i was at giant eagle which permits weapons in the store and an employee asked if i had a gun which i had my glock 22 on my side and i simply said yes and he asked why and if i was a cop i said its my right and i have my ccw and he was cool about it and i went on my way

  • Hi my name is Scott Popp and i have created an Open Carry in Ohio Page on Facebook. I posted your link to your video so if you have a facebook account please check it out!! Become a fan and help get the awareness out!! Thanks for the Video

  • We live in a horribly ignorant society where even rank and file street police officers do not know the laws. I was detained in Los Angeles one time for just a tazer ! I asked the officer about if he should know basic weapons laws coming out of the academy... he did not have much to say.

  • @oldpreach

what you think police school is for learning the laws ? its not its for brainwashing and training them how to infringe on rights

  • @romeoneverdies A bit cynical for me, but I would say I agree with you on the first part. Their training is geared for canned responses to situations that pop up so that they do not have to think about it. I am sure that this if for a number of reasons.

  • Very good points made out in this video.

  • If guns kill people, then... -pencils miss spel -cars make people drive drunk. -spoons made Rosie O'Donnell fat.
