I would prefer they didn't. Every show does this "will they won't they" theme. They should throw in something random like Ziva and McGee. Now who sees that one coming?
I think NCIS is so different than any other series. Sure wish here condemned many of the pairings arise, but that there is no reason to do the show but just as interesting. There's this certain tension between the characters.
What gives NCIS its power is not just that it is a strong procedural drama, but the fact that it is the characters who are center stage. This is a show about the characters, and that alone draws people in!
