This film was an offense to these amazing books. Except Helen Mirren because she's awesome. And the bit where Paul Bettany was doing the fire twirly thing because that was hot. But the rest of it was absolute crap.

It kinda urks me that so many people hate the movie so much, though. Mrs. Funke was there for the filming and even said in an interview that she loves the new scenes, like with the "mighty storm". So, as a fellow author/film student, I figure, if the author is happy with the movie, then shouldn't the readers be too?
