Briggsy, you're exactly right. I hate to be picky, but this isn't from 1969. This is at least 15-20 years later when David and Eddie were older. And as Briggsy said, why even have David in a video featuring a song that he didn't sing on? That's why when they're sitting in the club, you see Eddie lip-sync his part but David doesn't because he's not singing on the record. Cool video but kind of historically inaccurate.

This video was created in 1989 by a group of professional video makers, who believed that they could create a video for a fantastic song from the past.

Songs that were released and were big hits, BEFORE videos were ever conceived.

These videos were aired on TV back in 1989, on a show called DEJA VIEW, hosted by John Sebastian.

Thank you so much for sharing this video, it show a lighter side of David. A lot of people did not know he was a prankster or that he loved to ride horses, they only saw what the media wanted them to see , sometimes it take a litlle research and then you began to to see a little clearer.

Great song, but I believe that Dennis Edwards had replaced David Ruffin in the group at this time. So to have a "Ruffin" character is a bit out of place.

As was mentioned in the comments with the video ...

This video was made along with 12 other terrific songs from the 60's and 70's by video makers of the late 80's and early 90's.

The wanted to show their appreciation for this early music which at the time never had been made into video, which is so common with todays music.
