i dont know if i should do wood elves or high elves. All the high elves look pretty weak with toughness 3, at least the woodeleves have dryads and tree kin, do you have any recommendations ?
song fits me and video since i consider the game store paradise. lol. i r new and play dwarves. i have skull pass. i want to have to buy stuff to get one, tournament dwarf army that will win alot. what should i do.
i dont care as much about placing as much as i want to be able to contend. from what i hear, those cannons and warriors lead by thanes with oath stones are top choices. i dont mind losing, but i am only gonna ever have one army untill my 40k stuff is done, and the fact that im getting the skull pass dwarves, about 500 points of dwarfs i hear, i just want to know the best stuff i could get into a standard tourney army, 2000pts is tourney, right.
Hey guys, thought i tell ya about my army that i am building. I am making an empire army buut not just any army...... only cavalry :D i will paint them so to look like knights of the blazing sun and will have 1 general who will be the leader will look so awsome :D
First enjoy modeling your army and coming up with a theme. At the end of the day one only things you can control is how nice your army looks. It takes a lot of finesse to play wood elves so don't get frustrated. It's a lot of fleeing shooting and choosing your battels when you play them. Play a lot of games, I'd start at 1000 points so that things aren't super crazy right away and to help you get used to the rules. Enjoy winning and losing sometimes the dice just don't go your way.
This tourney needs the staff to up the quality of their terrain. What they're playing there in the video is .... ahem ... well...not helpful to game immersion.
Unfortunatly this is a tournament and cluttering the table with to much terrain hinders the time that the players are able to use for their games which would also make it unfair for some armies. Having the terrain for 20+ tables is quite a feat within itself.
Well, I didn't mean to say it needed MORE terrain, just that the terrain that is there could use some work. I know its sort of a harsh criticism, because I know that its not easy for a small staff to build a ton of quality terrain. Regardless, of the circumstances, the event does need better terrain. Perhaps the staff could work on it bit by bit over the years. Might not happen over night, but working on it little by little couldn't hurt. Anyways, enough of me criticizing, the gaming looks fun.
i dont get what that is? is it like 1 HUGE table and every1 is playing and the last 2 ppl have to play each other with the remaining troops they have?
Every game is seperate. Usually how it works is that everyone plays 3 games during the tournament switching tables/opponents every round. Rounds are typically limited to 2 1/2 hours. Players score points for completing objectives as well as defeating opponents.
No archers, correct. No skirmishers, true. No cannons, true, but they do have a warmachine: the hellcannon. Very scary stonethrower, basically. They make up for their lack of shootiness with some of the hardest CC units in the game, though.
im looking to collect a new fantasy army. i allready have dwarfs so i would like something different and evil,o and they have to be expensive points wise
It depends on how much you want to paint up. I'd say pick some models that you will enjoy putting together and painting. The factions are balanced for the most part and if they aren't then you'll get a boost every year and a half or so when they re-release your Army Book.
If you have a local game shop go there, but you should read the book through at least once. Knowledge is power. I spend about 2-3 weeks coming up with an army list before I go to a tourney.
spend half an hour and watch tutorial videos from foolinjected here on youtube there is a bunch and they focus on different parts of the game but they helped me a bunch
dude its a board game you can be any age and play dude if you play risk right then that doesn't have a age limit same thing with this its about having fun any age can play
:'( you guys are so lucky i always wnated to learn how to play warhammer since dawn of war came and in mi country they(puerto rico,at leats in the south) dont have hobbies centers..... ill guest ill never be able to play....
i need aa hoobbyy and i think this suits me, but i am 17 GUYS am i am to old for that game what i mean by old is that you guys have played since kids and me by 17 what you guys think?
Dude, you still can start playing, I just started half a year ago when I was 17. So, that's no problem at all. Get an army, get the rulebook, get someone to play with and all is fine^^
I wish that I had Warhammer when I was 17, Anthony! I say, get a job, or, if you already have one, save some cash, put together an army and find some gamers in your area to play with! I haven't played since 1996, (because I was disabled by a brain tumor when I was 23.) but I still have my Chaos army stashed away, hoping I'll get the chance to break it out again some day! When we were playing, our group's age range went from abt. 14 to 30-something.
i never had enough money to buy my own terrain s i took up makin it and i mus say i got a nag for it ive got a shit load so im thinkin of startin a website to sell it.

Well I haven't ever seen a dwarf army come out on top at a tournament. If you just want to win tournaments you should play Undead or Chaos IMO.

2009 and the terrain here is pretty damn good. It did fix it self. It's now very fun to attend Tacticon and Ghengis con
