i listen to justin bieber and i adore buddy holly. i also have his record. just so you know that justin bieber fans DO appreciate old music. at least i do and i wouldn't come here if i didn't.
next time you want to extract audio out of vinyl, put a pre-amp in between the amp & the turntable. you'll get much better sound quality from it. just a suggestion. -djQ
Such a tragic loss to a wife who was deprived a lifetime with this man as was an audience deprived of what probably would have been lost decades of excellent guitar. The title "the king of rock" would have gone to Buddy Holly.
You know what they say. Three chords is all it takes.
Theres something spooky about this tune. Like it would be a good song to play during a party in someones tomb. If there is ever such party, I hope im invited.
I was recently playing Divinity II which isn't a very good game, but anyways I noticed something that made me smile, two girls outside in a village standing next to each other, with the names Peggy and Sue.
I Love this song....Its my moms name and shes an amazing women.....Before my grandpa died he requested that this song be played as hes being put in the ground and it was.
Hey cornelisvz, your right. Instead of the "traditional" lead guitar in the bridge, he pulls it off with three chords instead! Excellent post. Thanks.

@voyour1958 ha ha you make-a me laugh but on the other hand you're very mean to me. Do you smell your finger after you wipe your ass? Doesn't it smell good? I do then I lick mine too.
Thats whats missing with the digital age, old records are still and will allways be the best medium for songs, so clear and makes you feel like you are right there.
Can't believe this is from a 78. The quality is clear and the drums sound great.

I love the sound of vinyl . . . Give me the clicks and pops and white noise! :)

The neat thing is that you can SEE the guitar solo in the grooves...where the surface of the shellac isn't quite as reflective.

@QUASARA Strangely it's these rough old 'camcorder mic' clips that get the most hits. They sound like how the older viewers would of heard them then

Buddy's best song, and one of the best of 50's rock. This is pure rock n' roll with an emphasis on beat and rhythm.

The unique beat of the drums fit this song perfectly and have always wondered who came up with this idea.
OjaiRoy 1 year ago
@OjaiRoy Hey, i believe JI ( the drummer) couldn't get the right beat, so he suggested using paradiddles and they did.

Peggy Sue wasn't his girlfriend lol
it was one of his band members.
He had a wife named Maria Elena Holly.
She owns a restaurant in Dallas, TX. I live in Dallas. I have been there and met her. Before you try and bullshit, Get your facts straight. :D
