  • Simply awesome...!!!

  • This song ruined my life....George

  • This was when Music was Music ! Not like today when SEX Sells

  • Back again for my 6 monthly fix of Judith :)

  • This has to be one of the best groups to ever exist, their voices blend so well and they sound as good live as on record.

  • They are so fantastic and I love their style & their decency.

  • a true singing voice indeed. standing far from the mechanics of things and yet carry herself as if she were singing amongst friends in privacy. Anita Baker another.

  • This was one of the top songs when we first came to the US. Loved hearing and still do.

  • what is the girls name pls.?????

  • @popoahi99 Judith Durham

  • Judith Durham's voice is like a bell in the wind. They harmonize well, and this is one of the best songs recorded in the 1960,s, or perhaps ever. The fact that they sound this good, live, outside, with 60's audio technology tells you something about their talent. One of my all time favorite songs, and I am 57.

  • Live folks this is live!!!! Can you imagine some of these clowns now sounding this good life!!!! I was just a teenager but I had a crush on Judith a mile wide!!!! She is a walking breathing doll!!!

  • I remember hearing this on the radio when I was a kid. What a pleasure to hear someone SING instead of SCREAM! She had a very nice voice. And dressed like a lady, not a tramp.

  • PURE 1st CLASS & 2nd to None ... MellowNature.

  • I was 4 yrs old but remember hearing this on the radio for the first time

  • She's so beautiful

  • I can still see that bright orange and yellow 45-single spinning on my record player!

  • @ClutterBunch In the early and mid '60s, Capitol used that 'wave' design for their 45s.

  • Damn, these guys were so good! Especially compared with all the crap these days they call "music".

  • Although the older chap at the beginning of this vid with the movie camera is probably long passed away ( or maybe not but condolences to his family if he is ) I wonder if the footage he took of this song still exists or is possession of one of his family members, it probably didn't record sound bur I would love to see what is looked like from his perspective.

  • I emailed and recieved a response from her and it made my life,,she is a power house singer to be in a such a small package,,sweet lady

  • keith potger from the seekers started the new seekers after the seekers disbanded in '68 - he started the new band in '69, so there is a link to the original

either way, to look back I wonder why we cvannot have this music again today, but then, who has a voice like Judiths???

  • I LOVE JUDITH DURHAM!!!!!

  • Great song, Great movie.

  • classic footage , classic band & song !!! folk rock !!!

  • No fat chicks here.

  • Hate & cuss me if you'd like. I'll take it as compliments! This tune is strictly squaresville!!!!

  • I always got this group confused with Spanky and Our Gang.

  • @LeGrande That's OK Spanky and our gang was a great group also. One or two have passed away but YouTube is still bringing us memories. As far as the Seekers Judith Durham has one of the greatest voices to fill the 60's singing groups.

  • Her voice is so unique and beautiful...I love listening to her voice.

  • dont you hate it when pepole say thums up if you agree.................... thums up if you agree

  • @HoNkCaPrIcOrNHoNk thumbs up is good...

  • @starsapphires i bet u anything that was my dumb ass little sister..... im going to punch her in the face for useing my account now

  • @HoNkCaPrIcOrNHoNk THAT WASENT ME THAT WAS MY FUCKASS LITTLE SISTER

  • @HoNkCaPrIcOrNHoNk I am sure she is a sweet, and beautiful lil sister. Life is all about finding your way. All is good. : D

  • Wow talk about sounding spot on to the recorded classic! Now this IS talent! No prerecorded lip synching, overdubbing, or ultra modern technology like most of today's so called "stars" ( dross ) rely on. To think this was filmed and recorded in 1966/67 and sounds this good is mind blowing. Thanks for posting!

  • Sure, she's still around, looks good-- in fact there's an interview clip from a few years ago with her and her husband somewhere on YouTube. They're very private, though, and live in Australia (I think), but they keep the location of their home a secret--even from the interviewer, who had to meet them at a hotel!

  • Them was the days!

  • I STILL want to have Judith Durham's baby.

  • tell me why I'm wrong

  • I'm not singing expert but I believe Judith is near the best

  • One of my favorite all-time songs.

I remember when Georgy Girl first came out.

Thank you for the fond memories.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • GREAT VOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • She has the most magnificent voice and a stage presence like no other.

  • what a voice !!!

  • This could only be the Hollywood Bowl is that an incorrect assumption?

  • @jgthomas128 This was recorded at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Australia. The Seekers played there in '66 and in '67 with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

  • @jgthomas128 Incorrect. It's the sydney Myers bowl melbourne. ( It was inspired by the hollywood bowl) .. but good eye. they look almost identical.

  • A lot of people sing well, very few have individuality. There is only ONE Judith Durham. 20111208@11.04am Thursday.

  • with such a postive spiritshe can't appear but beautiful to us!

  • @MegaPaddyo no much earlier and likely in either someplace in britain or in califiornia around 1966 when the movie had come out

  • @henrycavanagh,fully agree with you. Judith is God sent. Once in a generation one get to hear it. 20111204@0944am Sunday.

  • I think this is Melbourne. (?)

  • I thought i was old :)

  • I think it was somewhere in Italy.. I can tell by the confused faces on the audience.

  • Imagine that! The people in the audience, during a concert, are as classy by remaining silent and behaved, as the singing group is while performing!? Bet ya won't see that these days, nor, in the recent past!

What a little sweetie Judith Durham is - and, in every Seekers' performance! She could sing in any church and be congratulated! :)

  • @revup67,thank you very much for uploading such a great song. It is pure joy and never fail to lift up my spirit. I am so grateful. Cheers to good health. God Bless you and your family. 20111123@0716a Wednesday.

  • actually The New Seekers are a British-based pop group, formed in 1969 by Keith Potger after The Seekers disbanded

  • never hear me say "hey there geordie girl" the girls on geordie shore are mingers

  • She has such a powerful voice. I know it's the mike technology too, but she's two feet away from that mike and is clear as a bell. Certainly one of the prettiest female voices of all time.

  • @henrycavanagh Oh yeah, I agree!

  • @henrycavanagh I'm a sucker for a great female vocalist. I'm old enough to remember when this song was a hit, and thought it was smashing. The movie is very sad. If you like this group, you will probably like the Washington Squares.

  • @CuteCatFaith thanks for the tip Cute Cat....are you cute? LOL. I am going to search for them now.

  • @henrycavanagh I do two channels here and also Dailymotion. I have a website. No, I do not think I am cute, I think I am gnarly, but you can see me and decide. xo

  • lovely, yes...but POWER, i mean HORSEPOWER!

  • Still great !!!

  • I wish we were back in the time of the video, I really don't like the time were in now. NWO

  • @silverexplosion hey silver, sometimes I feel that way, but Billy Joel once sang " the good old days weren't always good and tomorrow ain't as bad as it seems".....yes, we had great times but there were also just as many challenges and heartaches, .... so, try to sweat a little and make this a good ole day, too. Peace

  • best live performance ever!

  • What an amazing voice ,so clear and natural . full of life and fun .

  • i liked this song i think i was 7 then

  • Comment removed

  • why are they at a football game??

  • Ah look at her the gorgeous wee thing!!!

  • always had a crush on her !!!!!! 36 years now!!!!

  • this must be heaven

  • i love this song my daughter siobhan loved it so much she called her daughter gorgegina and she lovely

  • What an interesting contrast this group presents. She has a lovely voice, and their "peppiness" is very appealing, at least to me, a middle-aged man. Yet it's amazing to think how totally oblivious they were to the incredible changes going on around them in the '60s. They were probably despised by the hippies and embraced by the squares!

  • @TheLions1957

Yes I keep coming back to this video. This is a really catchy tune with avery positive message and vibe plus a very clever vocal arrangement. Probably the best Seekers song. Judith seems to represent the "nice girl" that your Mun would like to hav round plus I love her strident unpretentious delivery - a complete rarity nowadays. The other guys seem to be untouched by the 60's liberation and just look square but do a good job with the vocal harmonies especially the guy far left.

  • @TheLions1957 What on earth are you talking about????????

  • @TheLions1957 No, actually I think they were respected by most. I know Georgy Girl is about getting out of a straightjacket morality and lifestyle, so the hippies were all about that.

  • Judith was a babe!

  • Beautiful song during a wonderful time

  • i'm turned on by her natural movment

  • The person that posted this under artist as the new seekers.

No one in this original group is associated with the new seekers.

  • @sixtiesforever1966 - I am the original poster amd that wasn't me - probably a youtube or other youtube user mistake

  • @revup67 THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY. SIR DAVID

  • @revup67 They automate that crap. I posted an Elvis 8-track without reference to the title and they somehow got a title that was on the tape...so maybe there is a low paid human paid to sit there and listen. In your case the low paid human was probably ignorant and just chose a popular similar name from a search.

  • @sixtiesforever1966 Yeah they were two seperate groups The Seekers were from Australia and the New Seekers were from Great Britan!

  • My God I loved this, great performance and she is stunning and what a voice

  • I'm sry I don't know her name but I'd love to hear her sing Christmas Carols in the Mormon Tabernacle.

  • It looks like the Hollywood Bowl, it's outside but the stage is covered.

  • @baldbikervideo it,s melbourne m8. best city in the world . lol

  • hey, I'm confused. Are they inside or outside? The crowd shots in the beginning look like an outside concert with sunlight, people standing, etc. But then they show a concert hall with people in seats, walls, no sunlight, etc.

  • Comment removed

  • @kbeanz

It is the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. The stage and most of the seats are undercover and then you have the lawn area at the back of the seats.

  • as humans we need to test the boundaries we bounce back :) like Bumbles

  • Beautiful song ! I am so agreed to jeff62rey, who can answer that, the world needs some loving and gentleness from all human race !

  • What happened to our world these past 40 years? How have gone from the gentleness of this folk rock that expressed a sensible, simple humanity to the violent, vulgar and inhumane tendencies of modern rap and techno. I'm not a prude in any respect, just a lover of decent human treatment of each other. Tell me where we went awry?

  • BEAUTIFULL SONG AND CLASSY GIRL + VOICE

IT'S A PITTY, WE DON'T HAVE MORE OF THESE SONGS AND

    SINGERS ANYMORE

  • An ANGEL!

  • she's so beautiful!

  • How many performers can do their hits LIVE and make them perfect??? Not many. Gibby is right. Clear and Pure and Honest!!

  • HA HA.. i WAS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD....

  • looks like the Hollywood Bowl

  • @Syzygy60 and jasonwheel This concert was filmed at the Sidney Meyer Music Bowl in Melbourne, Australia in 1967

  • I'd be interested to know where this one was filmed.

  • I think this was filmed at Expo '67. But I am not 100% sure.....

  • Class act.

  • One of my all-time favorite songs when I was a kid. Ironically, this is the first time I ever saw it performed live. I only ever heard the studio version on the radio. Thanks so much for posting this!

  • I always loved the sound of this group.

It tickled me that that Brits do not pronounce an "R" if it is near the end of a word.

Georgie comes off sounding like Geohgie and girl sounds (to me) like gull.

Never less, this group gave me many hours of enjoyment listening to their music. Carried me through many difficult times.

    Thanks for posting this video.

  • @unclemikeb too bad they are not Brits, Judith is a Melbourne girl

  • AND she thought she wasn't pretty enough and she made her own clothes. Modesty becomes you and you have the voice of an angel.

  • youre always window shopping but never stopping to buy, its time to shed those dowdy feathers and fly...a little bit.

  • wow! what a blast from the past!!

  • Double wow! With tears in the eyes.....

  • WOW!!!

  • Glad I was around when there was still great music.

  • She just rocks the F**k OUT THIS SONG ....

  • What a voice.

  • An eternal hit.

  • A place in time that society forgot . . . . when music was cool, groovy & innocent and lyrics were clean and people were pure and unspoiled . . . unlike today ~ how they serve our kids a bunch of FILTH where lyrics of gang-sta rap & hip hop- are full of profanity, recording artists are horny sexual beings portrayed in videos & pop stars are admired for getting into hot water with the law - WHAT kind of CRAPis that ??? Just another example of the deterioration of the very fabric that holds us up.

  • @Korvinski That's a very thorough description of our decline, musically and otherwise. Excellent commentary Korvinski!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Korvinski How true - your words could be carved into marble. The 'new morality' is the same as the 'old immorality'. I love the music esp. circa the 60's, 70's - even with limited technology there were pure harmonies, full orchestration, meaningful lyrics. p.s. enjoy my covers - a tribute to back then..

  • @Korvinski like i always say thank the liberals for ruining the world and allowing al this filth in the name of Political correctness.

  • such great talents - I so glad I saved one of their old LPs!

  • I got your number Fool! Who's got their head buried in a bucket in the outhouse now, you ignorant load of S**T? You drag down a commentary on music because of RACE? How do you know I'm white? You got an axe to grind because of your color, or anybody's color? Grow a set and deal with it! Real men live real lives, crybaby. What next ? Sue the lottery because your number didn't come up? And you're sure they did it on purpose because you're the wrong color? Man, you're STUPID!

  • Remember this very well. I was in basic training Fort Dix NJ in Dec 1967

  • bloody hell this is good xxx

  • What's amazing is the great sound they get from a minimal amount of equipment - and all of it acoustic! Great group. Thanks so much for posting.

  • Man, without the black man's rock, blues, jazz, r&B, gospel etc - this is what we would have had to listen to?

  • @knowledgeiswhatsup Sorry you don't get it, Man. Rock was the product of Black R&B and White C&W - a beautiful mix. What you hear now is many generations from the original Rock. Rock and Roll is now called Rockabilly. This is fine British 60's Pop, Man. And a lot of the best harmony in 70's rock came from groups like the Seeker's, the Everly's, Doo-Wop, and Gospel. Appreciate the roots, because the fruit of the 70's, Chicago, Doobies, Eagles, CSNY, Queen, Styx, and more came from these.

  • @Informed104: Rock comes out of the black musics and experiences only - no white. Whites stole the art, tried to copy but could not and that is why it ended up sounding slightly different. Whites made slooooow "music" with mundane sounds, little complexity and otherwise boring. Blacks made all exciting which is why it is ROCKIN and ROLLING (besides the sexual connotations). There is not white musical mix as whites have not created any music.

  • @knowledgeiswhatsup What the Frick! are you talking about? What planet are you on?

  • @Informed104: I am on the planet of truth and not white supremacist fantasies that must always put a white face into something that is great even if it clearly could not come from a white experience in the US. Don't play dumb, you know what I am talking about. You just cannot pull that "rock was the product of black and white" shit on me! It was BLACK period! To add to that, in the 50's, what did WHITES call it? They called it 'nigger' music - not 'black and white music.'

  • @knowledgeiswhatsup Well now the balck man makes horrible rap music that ruins the society. This music is better than that.

  • @calihartley2010: They used to say that about the black man's rock too...

  • @knowledgeiswhatsup Well in a way it did, because it took the attention away from the Euro based music and into other bad stuff. But atleast black music then was much better than the trash they have now.

  • A voice from heaven, that has entertained millions and will continue to do so for many

decades to come, God bless her.

  • truly beautiful

  • Great!!!!!!!

  • Excellent, the year I was born - I think I must have been listening to this in the womb!

  • @trifelgeputinage Me too was born in march 1966. Greetings from Germany!

  • Location is at the 'SIDNEY MYER (not Meyer) MUSIC BOWL' in MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA.

  • Listened to this and other Seekers tunes in the sixties, but this is the first time I've ever seen them. Thanks for uploading.

  • This song means a lot to me because my dad when i was little would sing this song to me with a little twist on it to personalize it for me!!:-) So they sing it wrong, to me anyway!!:-) LOL

  • Man She's at least 2 ft from the mic but she still comes in clear.

  • Upshot. The music must change (Back to this era's sounds), and will. There is no other choice.

  • @SeattleLA - Oh, how I wish that were true!

  • @Informed104 Yes, me too.

  • Looks like the Hollywood Bowl to me...

  • @harponercam It was the Sidney Meyer Music Bowl in Melbourne, Australia

  • Judith has got to be one of the greatest singers in all of time. and the seekers one of the greatest music making groups

  • Amazing

  • I like this; just saying they were probably druggies or freaks too, (not saying they were) but under this facade, you wouldn't think it...like the Beatles. I love this music too, I'm just saying, looks can be deceiving.

  • @alisterfolson Yeah, maybe. But, the Seekers didn't play driving rock in the Reeperbahn for months on end, either. I'm good with a facade, I'm good with understated. I'm good with a wholesome image. Could they have done LSD? They don't strike me as the experimental types. Alcohol at most, but you don't hear that about them. You didn't / won't see Judith falling out of a car, with a shaved head/crotch, and no panties. Yeah, I'm crazy -but I'll take the Maxi dress, and the clean image.

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr Thanks for the info. It just seems like this version that I saved under favorites has become faster since I last played it. Guess it must happen when I free up space on my hard drive. Think I'll try re downloading it,

that should fix the issue. Thanks again JD

  • Anyone remember the TV commercial from the late 60's based on this? It was for "White Rock Ginger Ale" but they changed the words to "Hey there White Rock girl, bubbly and sparkling White Rock girl...." Forgot the rest of the lyrics :)

  • def one of the best female vocalists ever - judith has perfect diction on every song she sings

  • I can tell you that this performance was from their appearance at Melbourne's Myer Music Bowl during the citys Moomba festival in 1967.

  • all class Dressed for sucess and they still have it great music

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @jdollinter That's a good question, but if you think the tempo on this one is fast type The Seekers Georgy Girl 1968 in the box above, and you'll here The Seekers get through in record time in 2 minutes flat! It was their farewell performance. There's also a 6 minute version that includes that two minute version along with the Trailer from the actual movie with Lynn Redgrave, and the words in it are different from the Georgy Girl on the radio. It's called The 3 faces of Georgy Girl.

  • sing like an angel.......don't need short skirts, or cleavige. how have we gone wrong?

  • @rickyh51 RIck, there are no more singers anymore or at least very few I was in the service when this group was hot and I loved her voice so clear and pure. Very few have it now, they need to sell sex to be listened to, Such a shame.

  • @Gibby483 Hi Gibby. When I look down music history I can see exactly what you're saying. Even though it's the most natural thing in the world [the birds & the bees etc] it feels like a real shame that girls [and guys now more than ever] are virtually pushed to flaunt their bodies in order to be noticed above the rest. [I'm an ABBA fan also and I always remember how embarrassed and shocked Agnetha would look when asked about her sexy bum.] BUT surely this phase will run it's course [comments??]

  • @Gibby483 or just be weird for the sake of weird ... looking at you lady gaga. Not so much "being herself" as it is being obnoxious.
