  • Solo was very "Teenage Wasteland"... love that delay effect.

  • @thetommyboysmusic True. He sometimes covers this song live.

  • love that extended solo

  • just adds like an extra minute to the solo, ian thornley is a freaking beast!

  • LOL @ the guy recording with an LG rumor... I had that phone... it sucked. haha

  • my luck is wasted i am on the ground some where??? if u havnt been there then u cant posibly luv this songlike me close your eyes and get into it !!! the shit! .

  • You know that something is wrong with the music industry when a guy like Ian Thornley isn't a huge star. I don't get it????

  • There are a number of videos of this song on YT but I always come back to this one and the Snowjob 98 video. Guess it's because he is so animated in these two and seems to really be enjoying himself. This man has incredible talent and should be a tremendous star by now. Underrated and brilliant. Thank you for putting this up.

  • @LoveMusic720 Agree... he's way too underrated! Love this version as well... especially from 3:00 to 5:00 ... just plain awesome! I like when he jumps on the stage like that... really entertaining. And the crowd seems to enjoy it too.

  • for anyone wanting to play this, i found this tab on ultimate guitar:. Oh, and the tuning is Db Gb Db Gb Gb Db

  • PLUS hes awesome to look at!! YUM

  • seriously how did the world miss out on this, hooked first hearing, and im a music snob

  • of course it is down a half step. i indicated that directly below: "G flat". as well, i went string by string indicating the flattening of each note a half step. didn't read it too close, did ya?

  • open G

  • anyone know what tuning the oaf is in?

  • @stpconnor13

    open G

  • God he's hot! GO CANADA! :D

  • Does anybody know what guitar this is? Ive been trying to find out it's make for a while now, any help is appreciated, thanks.

  • Ricken but that beautiful sound you hear is achieved another way, effects, compression, and something else

  • Are you positive it's a Ricken? Every Ricken Ive ever seen, the hole at the top was tapered the exact opposite of Thornleys guitar, with the wide end on the neck side. I definitely see major similarities, and it may be a custom, but i'm just really hoping it's not because that means it will be even more difficult to find. But thanks for the help.

  • It's a custom made guitar by Jim Mouradian... a Boston based luthier. Ian had a few of them made back in the 90's.

  • vibroto ,,,, that the effect , you can get it a few ways femdr super reverbs / twin reverbs , roto vibes the pedal ,,, or vibrolux ,,, daniel lanois uses one ALOT

  • it's a mouradian flapjack. ian's guitar o choice!

  • @Faronadriel

He gets his guitars custom made. They are made to be a little bigger overall than standard guitars due to his height. He explained in an article that regular guitars look too tiny when he's playing.

  • I so remember the first time I ever

heard this song on station CHTZ

    out of St. Catherines, Ont.

Why isn't this guy a huge star now?

  • @yockybunny My hometown man, lol

  • Soooooo cool to see this video! I was there with my 8 year old daughter, up front, and lol, it was her that Ian pointed to to cover her ears, then he, to our great amusement changed the words!!! Great to see it captured on video..Thank you!!

  • there's really nothing dirty about the word "ass" uptight idiots needs to get a life.

  • it was a cute moment, that's all.....but thank you so much for making me see it through your eyes...my daughter'll get a real kick out of your comment

  • at wat time on the video was this?

  • are you talking about what I posted below? If so, it's at about 2:30.

  • ya, and thats awesome

  • I saw then a Big Wreck a long time ago in Indianapolis and Ian is and AMAZING guitar player. Then all of a sudden they disappeared. Are they coming back?

  • Not ever as Big Wreck, he has his own band now Thornley

  • I have found the Thornley sites and he was still play with the best of them. I hope they come to the States, seems he is happy in Canada.

  • Anybody have a clue how the hell to play this, especially the intro. is he in an alternate tuning or what?

  • Tremelo with heavy delay synched with each other perfectly. Very Very hard to reproduce! I believe it is dadgDe or some form of open D. This man is absolutely amazing!! Most talented musician I have ever seen PERIOD!

  • D G D G G D....Much fun to play. :)

  • DGDGBD

  • his guitar solo is awesome

  • OMG he smokes! yuck!

  • Thanks for posting this. Interesting to see how he arranges this live and makes it work really well.

  • Really good version, I really enjoyed it

  • niiiiiiiiiiiice
