Oh. My. GOD. The whole castle sequence is so..awful. It drags on FOREVER. It all looks the same, and it's a trial-and-error maze, and the bosses are just palette swaps of previous enemies with no variation in pattern.
This is all no fault of the player (laffer35) though. Thanks for playing this so I don't have too. I would've rage-quit after either of the two castle "bosses".. assuming I didn't rage-quit during the maze portion.
Yeah the castle part was definitely the most annoying.
I do finish it in the most effective way possible though, I think... other than maybe picking up some more items than I would strictly need.
There is a specific path you have to go through the castle... you have to visit the right places in the right order to make progress (throwing a switch on one side changes something on the other side, etc).
Because of all that, I mapped the whole area out on pen and paper.
It's a shame this castle segment is so long and tedious because I'm really diggin' the music for the place, especially the percussion.
