Hey, Rush, the reason New York city was hit by such a bad blizzard is because the air at the Arctic Circle was unusually warm that year, and pushed all the cold air in Canada south. That's why the east coast got hit with blizzard conditions, because the weather that's supposed to be up in Canada got pushed down to us, because the air at the North Pole was much warmer than it should be. I would like to know if anyone has tried to confirm or challenge Charles David Keeling's data on carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere. From what I have read he made several assumptions on the distribution of carbon dioxide in the environment. Food for thought. I would rather not put stock into a theory that may prove true one decade and wrong the next simply because we don't fully understand the world in which we live. It may cost us our freedom.

London is quite moderate because of its altitude and is located on an island(britian). Islands of this size and smaller experience different weather conditions compared to the mainland. germany and many other regions in central and eastern europe experience mush colder weather then britian even though it has a smaller latitude.

You're conflating two different matters: we SHOULD trust scientists, but we shouldn't trust every random bonehead who says "scientists say..."

Any individual scienst could be crazy, or corrupt, or have some vested interest, or simply have been mistaken, but when the vast majority of scientists in a field confidently come to the same conclusion about an issue in their field, it's maddness to NOT trust them.
Also, don't forget that science - and the physical sciences especially - have a unique relationship to knowledge. Although judgement and interpretation do play a role in their conclusions, scientist's reasoning is grounded on painstakingly aquired physical evidence, careful analysis of errors and accuracies, and a world of pre-existing scientific knowledge. All of that is scrutinized and challenged in public before their peers, and guided by cannons of practice designed to root out error

Understand that science doesn't *prove* its claims - it rather gathers evidence to support them, and as the evidence grows and the case for its claims improves, it gains confidence those claims. However, using *proof* to mean a very confidently held from a very strong empirical case, you can correctly say that human-driven global warming has already been proven
All temp reconstructions of the Northern Hemisphere have the 13th-18th centuries trend being COOLING. The last third of that period is called the Little Ice Age for crying out loud. That's NOT a 500 year heatwave.

Correct - melting overall is evidence of warming. That CO2 is a/the major cause is based on other, different evidence.
The total scientific evidence justifies saying it's at least 90% likely that human CO2 emissions are responsible for most of the Earth's warming since the middle 20th century, according to the summary of the last IPCC report.

Hey, Rush, the reason New York city was hit by such a bad blizzard is because the air at the Arctic Circle was unusually warm that year, and pushed all the cold air in Canada south. That's why the east coast got hit with blizzard conditions, because the weather that's supposed to be up in Canada got pushed down to us, because the air at the North Pole was much warmer than it should be. I would like to know if anyone has tried to confirm or challenge Charles David Keeling's data on carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere. From what I have read he made several assumptions on the distribution of carbon dioxide in the environment. Food for thought. Any human foible can be found in some scientist, but overwhelming scientists are amazingly careful, and rational in the conclusions they draw from evidence. That's, after all, the meat & potatoes of their job.
Some will have outlier positions on any issue - which is why the scientific consensus is what counts as humanity's "scientific knowledge" of an issue.

The fact that we have some polar icecaps melting does not prove that human carbon emissions are dangerously heating up the earth. Global temperatures fluctuate century to century. i.e. Heatwave 13th- 18th C.

Understand that science doesn't *prove* its claims - it rather gathers evidence to support them, and as the evidence grows and the case for its claims improves, it gains confidence those claims. Correct - melting overall is evidence of warming. That CO2 is a/the major cause is based on other, different evidence.
The total scientific evidence justifies saying it's at least 90% likely that human CO2 emissions are responsible for most of the Earth's warming since the middle 20th century, according to the summary of the last IPCC report.

There's gases trapped in the ocean, and as the ocean raises in temp more and mpore gas will be released. Also climate change will demonstrate both extremes.

Please tell me of the magazine or institute with the standing of National Geographic that denies global warming as a "hoax".

One simple FACT for you: A 2009 poll by Pew Research Center found that "[w]hile 84% of scientists say the earth is getting warmer because of human activity such as burning fossil fuels, just 49% of the public agrees." This is NOT a hoax, and the burden is overwhelmingly on the deniers to support their case.
