U guys cannot understand if you haven't lived there.I'm in Chicago since 2010.U work,go shopping,have fun in the weekend and wait for death to come.In the meanwhile everything works in a smooth way,and you never ever have to think.Naples is life in its completeness.You walk,meet people and understand their life, smell the air... You can feel. And everything is meaningfull. Never wait for something to come you don't even know what. Is the real life. The incarnation of philosophy, and I miss it.
Love Naples, if people traveled to big cities in the world they would find the same problems as in Naples (crime, filth,ect), they just would not find the beauty of Naples. The pizza, the food, the bay, I wish I was there now.

Ive been to naples while in the miltiary and i have to say it was disgusting and ridden with trash and had builings with anti-american slurs..... Prostitutes were everywhere and i just didn't feel welcome even though i am Italian american. The one thing that struck a cod with me was that retrurants were selling pizza they had displayed in the windows days earlier.... P.S. dont go to naples!

Nevertheless, whole Italy is so beautiful! I love you guys kept the old architecture in big cities. I wish they had done the same in Athens: I see the beautiful cities in Italy and I get so mad and envy that Athens looks so ugly and dirty -I wish I was Italian.

I guess the people who are commenting about robberies and thieves and stuff have forgotten that Italy and Greece are plagued by millions of illegal immigrants from the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan who are Muslims, are used in a completely different way of living and customs, they live in very poor conditions because they cannot find jobs due to the bad economy in Europe now, so they resort to stealing and killing to steal. I remember the are of Stazione Centrale in Milan. It looked like Third World with all the junk and criminals around. I lived in Napoli for 4 years, and have gone back twice on vacations since. There is no other place on earth that can compare with the beauty, the people, the food and the history. If I won the lotto I would move back there and live the rest of my life. Yes it is crazy and sometimes a little dangereous, but it is life at the fullest, exciting and always interesting. Of all my memories there, it is the people that mean the most to me. You haven't lived until you've been to Napoli (& Pompei!)
Napoli. i was there in 2004 its a pretty nice city .but a bloke passing us on a motor bike tried to pull my girlfriends bag from her shoulders dragging her to the ground!!! and i witnessed five blokes bashing to near death an African teenager!! lovely city but some violent and rude people.plus i must add that there where some very nice and friendly people too.

I lived in Naples for almost two years when my dad was in the US Navy. Luckily I didn't stay on base like most Americans and actually tried speaking in Italian and travelling on the bus and train. I love Italy! That was the best time of my life. I can't wait to go back! FORZA NAPOLI, PER SEMPRE!

Viva Napoli, fabulous city, people, food, I love the place - no more dangerous than London, NYC etc. Don't be put off, visit to see best museum in world, the Baroque churches, Caravaggio and pizza - what more do you want? As for the Bay of Naples and the Amalfi coastline, Ischia, Procida (where Il Postino was filmed) and Capri, well, it will take your breath away!! Plus of course fantastic Pompei, Herculaneum &Cumae.

I lived in Napoli for 4 years, and have gone back twice on vacations since. There is no other place on earth that can compare with the beauty, the people, the food and the history. If I won the lotto I would move back there and live the rest of my life. Yes it is crazy and sometimes a little dangereous, but it is life at the fullest, exciting and always interesting. Of all my memories there, it is the people that mean the most to me. You haven't lived until you've been to Napoli (& Pompei!)

Napoli. i was there in 2004 its a pretty nice city .but a bloke passing us on a motor bike tried to pull my girlfriends bag from her shoulders dragging her to the ground!!! and i witnessed five blokes bashing to near death an African teenager!! lovely city but some violent and rude people.plus i must add that there where some very nice and friendly people too.

Yes, but everybody knows before deciding to visit Naples that this city is particuar and quite dangerous.
At the other hand, NYC or Chicago are also very dangerous cities.

I lived in Naples for almost two years when my dad was in the US Navy. Luckily I didn't stay on base like most Americans and actually tried speaking in Italian and travelling on the bus and train. I love Italy! That was the best time of my life. I can't wait to go back! FORZA NAPOLI, PER SEMPRE!

Napoli e' la piu' bella citta' in Italia. Ma i turisti prendono ancora paura di visitarla o di ritornarci quando vedono la spazzatura sulle strade e la criminalita'.
