  • this piece can be heard at the beginning of the 1918 version of Tarzan of the apes.

  • @ProgressiveFTW

What does piu mosso mean?? I loved the ending, too BTW.

    Zamunda Zorchalate, 40

  • @Zorchalate more motion (literally); faster (applied)

  • That was brilliant.

  • woo:)

  • they don't like a european being boss

  • I still don't get why the conductor (am I spelling this correctly?) has to be there. All of the musicians have their own music notes, right? And I don't see any of them looking at the conductor either.

  • @gondola1able maybe..just to start the music?.....i was wndering too!!

  • @gondola1able LOL Being a conductor is one of those jobs that is harder than it looks. The conductor decides the tempi and he keeps the musicians together. (Even this short overture has several changes of tempi.) Also he has to cue in some of the solo wind players like the oboe player at 2:08 because often the wind players have several minutes when they aren't playing and then they have to come in at the right time, and a cue from the conductor is helpful.

  • I love this music.......so well played.

  • Playing this is my local orchestra. The piu mosso right at the end if really fun to play.

  • It sounds fabulous :]

My schools wind symphony played this piece and we had a lot of fun with it!
