At the time, 1972, so many of us marveled at how she looked, not to mention how she sounded. It was an older voice but she had everything in place and she didn't fudge on anything. I think in Pons' case she really until the end never felt or thought old. In interviews she was as intelligent, savvy and saucy as ever.
