  • 12:33 DOUBLE TAP!!! rule #2 haha

  • Feedback: not sure if anybody said this before, they probably did but just the same.. If you rack a pistol's slide back when it's already got a round chambered (his second 'rack' in the garage(?) ) you'd hear a shell eject and bounce off somewhere. Other than that, not bad.

  • @ismega10 i use that program and now it works it didnt before but now it does thanks

  • bad cameraman

  • how do you put music in your vids when i do its says its not othurized by wmg do i have to download from itunes?

  • duuude...dude..duuude??? duuuuude!!!!!!...dudedudedude...

  • great film and i would do the same thing the guy did in the ending

  • Song name?

  • Why do they all have guns in their neighborhood? lol

  • good job but the screen going black between cuts was a little distracting

  • Epic Fail.... Just Kidding! You guys did a great job! Check back on my channel soon for my crews newest zombie flick! =NPJ!

  • BEST YOUTUBE ZOMBIE SHORT.....EVER..or best out of the others ive seen! though may i ask why all their doors are wide open?? lol

  • Wow! That was awesome!

I've got a Zombie short too! It's got a hot chick in it! Check it out!

    Desert Dead

    -S

  • god i love zombie stories.

  • Good job guys. I liked the first zombie in the headlights. Very freaky. Check out my series. THE ZOMBIE PARTS.

  • That was really good man!

I'm going to +sub, hopefully you guys will make another short soon :)

  • Excellent. Had me all the way. Liked the contrast between the zombie nerds one-upping on another, then having to put their "expertise" into practice themselves. It is never as easy as it seems -- it's all about ourselves, not about optimization of weapons. That means little if you don't have tactical sense and the will to live. Good, film school techniques on display here -- somebody's learnin'. Colin's death struggle with the zombie in the KTN was horrifyingly realistic. Good show!

  • this is relly good

  • nice job better than most shorts i have seen.

  • nice techniques, I just felt like the camera needed to be tilted up a bit more.

  • I like how everyone just has a gun

  • that was pretty sick good job on this

  • hahahahaaha a fucking air soft gun lol nice

  • lol nice i like how you guys are watching dawn of the dead...this movie is awsome...

  • Pretty good, unlike others i have seen at least its mature enough and without some 15 year old kids acting in it, although 1 question, does everyone keep a gun in the top drawer, anyways good editing espesically with the gun shots, hope to see another soon

  • Its understood that this has been on here for two years. And I realize its a bit too late, but for the sake of it here is what I thought.

Yes, the camera was an issue, but if any of you are looking for that film look, get a Panasonic DVX100b, usually can pick them up for $1,500-2,300. Sold mine for 1,500.

I cant give myu full critique cause of youtubes limit, but the story itself was effective. The lighting was an issue, and dialog was lacking a bit.

    Nice work though.

    7/10

  • how come there is so many zombie shorts were they kill them selfs? stupid... u always stay in it. there is always a chance to survive

  • I really enjoyed it guys! Great job with the sound track too excellent overall short. One of the better ones I have watched on youtube.

  • pretty good except for the ending, why didn't he run back into the house?

  • This short film blew me away. Very well directed, cinematography was amazing, and the special effects were pretty much outstanding. id like to see some other stuff from you guys. great job keep up the good work.

  • that was cool, i think for the ending it shouldn't have been all shaky with the camera and him going really fast. he should have taken his time because shooting yourself is a pretty horrible thing to do, and obviously the last resort. Maybe if like he sat in the car for a while staring at what he might become (the zombie) and then was like spose i have to, coz that johnny caash so would have been perfect for that sorta ending. sorry if i write loads i just love my zombies, anyway great film

  • why every zombie short film ends with the main character blowing his/her head off, does anyone know what to do in a similar situation?

  • @Neckrophilous

depends how many shots you have left, looked like he had 3 or 4 around him, if he didn't have enough ammo, it's pointless trying, if you do have the keys to the car, DRIVE! and find some ammo

  • they should make more parts for it. Because there just arnt enough good zombie movies

  • all in all i think it was pretty well done. You stayed within the lore that is zombie while adding the concept of at least primitive tought. All in all very well done. my only complaint has been mentioned and that would be the double chamber.

  • not bad was that johnny cash signing when the he shoots him self the only goof up i caught was when he puts the clip in he chambers it than as he walks through the garage he chambers again but its ok they do that kind of stuff all the time in the movies

  • Slow to get going but I really liked it. Nice

  • the only cool part of this short film is when they play deftones at the end! hahaha

  • well at least you took something away.

  • you should have made a series or something cause the ending IMO was kinda lame :/

  • People have heads. Didn't see them in most of the shots. Action was nice. Music didn't really aid the story any. Was this improv? Just curious...

  • there was no written script, but there was a plan before shooting started.

  • @griminar when i make movies its exactly the same

  • I Really could of done without the shaky cam this isnt the blair witch project or Cloverfield

  • Man dude that scene where the one zombies over the guy and ripping the guys fuckin throat out was gruesome I love how you used like roast beef colored red for the flesh that was my idea

  • the begginning was gay

  • agreed. but i think the end compensated for it.

  • I liked where the ending was going until he shot himself.

  • you spent a lot of time rec'ing tv

  • word

  • nice short i like it, but i think you need to improve how your zombie cast moves, i mean most zombies move like the ones in resident evil, they dont run. But other than that i think its good.

  • If the body wasn't damaged it could run, at least till the muscles decomposed. I don't think it would have the brain power to hide around a corner, but then again it is refreshing to see a new perspective.

  • You dont know nothin bout nothin, lol

    All the best zombies RUN!!!

    RUN FORREST RUN!!!

Run till you catch that futhermucker and eat his face!!!

  • good job keep up the good work but get a different camera man that made me dizzy when yall would run

  • that was really good. I didnt expect the suicide at the end though.

only thing i didnt like was the shaking camera

  • Good job, i agree that it needed a lil bit more something to drive the action along, found myself skipping forward through to the action. Definatley a high 4!

    Sweet Music choices!

  • nice thats pretty awsome loved it when they got shot

i didnt look close enough but was it cgi or real ?

check out my zombier movie im uploading soon its a drugg fucked adventure with zombies

  • I liked it. Only a few things i have bad to say about it. All the doors being open. the shirtless zombie jumped into the truck bed then out when it was already at the end of the truck. the guy being munched on wasn't making any noises indicating he was being eaten alive. The shaking camera wasn't too bad just the fact that at first i thought it was going to be a pov movie because you were following the guy to the car at the start. otherwise 5 stars. hope i didnt offend

  • no offense taken. constructive criticism is always appreciated.

  • There where a couple little things here and there that I didnt like, the camera shaking, but that may just be me. And is there a reason they are packing so much heat?

    5/5

  • yer just the guns is over the top for me, if it was from UK there couldnt be any guns only melee unless i had a sporting shotgun

  • nice job... love the intro.. hehe check out my zombie film.... talynfilms the video is above in the responses thing... tell me what tu think

  • Badass!!!! it was pretty cool, but the bullets came from above at an angle not straight foward where the guy was pointing.....anyway cool movie... im thinking about making one

  • where you get a gun that has an ammo thingfy?

  • It's not bad at all, but some parts were just so painfully boring. You need more interesting filler, like some more of the dialogue you had at the beginning. Your actions scenes were great, and the dialogue adds character development, just it was hard to get to them through all the times of not doing anything. Overall a solid 4, though :)

  • Pretty cool movie... Really impressive... the running zombie is often a heated topic. I don't think "zombie" would be the correct label for a running one. I think "Infected" is much better.

    Good job... do another one!

  • Wow!

    That was really good!

What did you guys use for gunshots and w/e?

And, where did you guys get your guns from?

  • Wow that was freacking amazing

    btw save one bullet

  • GREAT!!! 5 stars n sub

  • Johnny cash mixes in with zombie movies so well.

  • This was Great!.Except one thing,everyone makes this mistake,Zombies CANT run :).

  • i agree that since zombies are rotting corpse's have rotting flesh and normally they would rip apart when trying to run, but this makes the film more intense, zombies, flesh eating creatures that want to eat flesh, kill anything just because it's there, now picture running from them, as if that it's you running from them. try to use imagination with things like this. they try to make them better.

    dylan

  • it's his movie

let him do his own take on it, in case you havent noticed there are no real zombies

which means no one knows what they'd really do

  • Well done boys. Head and shoulders better than most of the indy zombie movies on here.

  • great job Will Turner! Loved the ending!

  • awh deadly lads! fuckin ace

will u make a full length but use the same survivors?? please god do!!!

  • Wat the HELL WAS THAT

  • the lighting is very dark, other than that great! ^^ and if you need to learn post stabilization for your camera in editing check videocopilot

  • is that dawn of the dead on the TV. is that for jock or very imprinted to the movie please tell.

  • very good i love it..it's like watching a pro movie

  • pretty good

    i like fast zombies

what did you guys do for squibs they were great

  • Very good amateur movie.

But i dont like speed zombies, next time romero style please ;)

  • Regarding the last guy: That's why you keep more than 4 rounds in your magazine.

And why didn't he just drive away? The car looked okay, apart from the broken windshield. I'm guessing it was supposed to be wrecked?

  • i hate speady intelligent zombiesgreat film, but i would have liked it much better if the zombies were classic style

  • Extremely impressive

  • awesome job!

  • ok couple of things 1 why kill ur self was that the last bullet he had if there were only 4 zombies and he had more bullets he could have stoped an epodemic 2 good job im thinken of make my own zombie movie the production is in progress do u have any tips for a rookie

  • favorite parts are when zombies are running

but my beef with this is the camera work...

in some scenes it worked well (zombies spriting)

but the rest of the time I wanted to slap the camera man. it would randomly zoom in on random stuff "feet, back of the guy's shirt, etc."

like the johnny cash at the end

  • dude bad ass movie. nice job guys

  • u cocked the gun 2ice

  • he was maken sure he had a bullet in there

  • Will Turner? awesome

  • Hrm. A lot of aspects of this is similar to the stuff a couple of my friends and I put togethers.

    - Props on getting many people to work

    together.

    - Spending the time to edit it.

Some of the parts are VERY hard to watch. The "dude, dude, dude... dude, dude. Pier one imports, dude" "dude" "dude" Arg. no good, I know you guys were throwing something together on the fly but, yikes.

Camera movements were a bit erratic and hard to follow.

  • Spent a little too much time watching TV.

LOL at the zombie that hates sleeping outside, and only in cars. And Extra LOl at 10 min, when the guy wakes up out of nowhere to go RIGHT to the window to see a bloody car.

And why would this guy seeing a hurt friend pull a gun out to shoot him.

Personal preference, Sprinting zombies = booo.

I'm glad to see your parents arm all of you.

    A+ for bullet wound effects!

character in the end, had NO will to live. Nice job guys! Keep em comin!

  • Cool but... if the gun was not jammed anymore he could keep trying

  • a lot better than i thought it would be...

i like the way you covered up the lack of muzzle flashes, but i have to agree with the last guy about the ending...should have drawn it out a bit to make it more dramatic

  • well done. one pointer tho, u could have made the ending have the guy a bit more freaked out and stretch it a bit to make it seem more dramatic

  • That was intense!..the start it's kinda slow and boring but the ending definetly saved it.

    Great Job!

  • good story although i always like zombie movies ending in the infected being exterminated but yours was good too

a little shakey filming but all together its a 8/10

  • personally, i enjoyed the ending.

my only criticism would be a better soundtrack choice.

except for that primus song in the beginning.

  • that was a good film overall...the digital effects were awesome and the music did a great job of setting the tone/s...on the down side, there were a few too many cuts, the ending was bad, and you didn't do a good enough job of explaining who was what and what was going on...but I do applaud your efforts. Maybe a part 2 would remedy your problems hint hint.....?

  • lol, well, i explain the ending on my youtube page, you should check it out.

unfortunately we're in the works on a new film, that will most definitely out-do Daybreak, check out our website for details (hyperlink on my youtube page)

  • Cool. That was pretty good.

  • pretty good for home-made but the ending was crap

  • Fucking amazing.

The start is slightly strange but cool and a tad confusing, and then it goes abit slow, but not bad..and then near the end its fucking awesome.

  • i saw elements of 28 days/weeks series.

  • Pretty good, I wish it was longer.

  • hey where did u get the sound effects and music from?

  • sound effects from free sites around the internet, music from my personal stuff pretty much

  • The Zombie Survival Guide is the greatest book ever written by a human being!

  • hey nice special effects, it was pretty cool that you could carry the story with such liittle talking too

    overall pretty impressive

  • How did you get those bullet hit effects? Do tell!

  • lol, bullet effects are pretty complicated, cut paintballs in half, cleaned them out, and filled them with baby powder, partially re-sealed them with super glue, turned the fps low on a gun, and voila

  • Wow! Well it was worth the effort, it's a good looking effect, lots better then those digital hits other shorts are using.

  • lol, yeh it just takes a lot of practice...and in most cases, a lot of takes. a few times the paintballs would just explode in the gun, but overall it was worth it

  • Claypool in the opening credits.

    Nice.

Good jon on the video though.

Me and some friends are making a zombie movie too, but it's just in the opening stages.

  • yo man pretty good, a little slow towards the middle but not a bad job, good gore effects!
