Lake is a great band in the 70's it makes you feel like being in a back seat with your girlfriend driving down the highway with the top down on a warm summer night. All these songs on this LP reminds me of the fun me and my girlfriend had back in 76. Those where the best times listening to lake on cassette and enjoying the night life with your favorite girl.
The 8 track, LP & CD are in my collection. This song will forever live ... if nowhere else, in my heart. As Sab-Designs states, very progressive, and tasty. This, and "Jesus Came Down "
OK, I totally changed my mind. This is easily my new favorite Lake tune. It's fantastic and nicely proggy. Love the mini Layla riff in the guitar solo.
Hey I just checked that one person that didn't like this song, is that guy insane he must the loneliest person on this earth, this song is one of best songs of all time, god that person needs a lesson in real music.
I remember this playing in my 8-track! Had to wedge a folded up matchbook in the deck to get it to play right. Lotsa girls, lotsa joints, 70 cent gas. Nice.
1978 this was the first tape I owned, reminds me of that drive to Indianapolis, that was real freedom.the world was right then.I wish I had that Opel GT back!
@thatVeteran Are you Serious? I made many trips to Indy in my Opel GT listening to this stuff, but it was 1980-81 Bhahhahee I must agree as you said, the world was right then
This is available on CD. I got a copy of Lake/Paridise Island (2 LP's on 1 CD) at CD Reunion in St. Louis, MO. My wife never heard this band before and loves them now. I always thought they should have made it bigger than they did. What a great sound they had! Man, it brings back the memories for sure! Thanks for posting.
On the Run Live kam 82 raus?
I was always impressed that every song on their albums were good ...maybe not fantastic but always had something that was interesting and memorable ....listening to them 30 + years later and I still have the same opinion
ice been looking for years for this album. I used to listen to it when I was a kid. Cant find it anywhere that I have checked. Ill even take it on vinyl just to say that I have it. Thank you for putting this on youtube. I miss this music like crazy.
Thank you so much for this !!!!! I too, owned this (back in the day). Awesome Hammond work---great percussive sound !!!! I especially like the guitar and organ breaks with the references to "Them Changes" and "Freedom Jazz Dance" !!!! Thanks again !!!!!!! Peace:)
I loved LAKE when they first came out with TIME BOMB. I have two of their albums on vinyl. I was just starting HIGH SCHOOL at the time. What vivid memories.
I heard these guys as an opening act for an outdoor concert in Offenbach Germany in 1978 and loved them as well as John Miles. The feature bands were Gentle Giant and Genesis, but we never made it past Lake and JM. Loved'm
This is an incredible day. These songs bring back so many memories. This album reminds me of rainy nights after my band rehearsal and my drummer would put this album on and we'd all go, "Boys, we need to practice...ALOT." The time changes in this tune are incredible. I love this band. Thank you so much miraculeaux2006 for your post. You have made many happy memories flood back.
What a surprise! I'm just to retrieve a beloved band of 70's LAKE in what I've erronously linked to Grek Lake of ELP several years! This tune was and still my favorite of all time of this band! I should discover many others of this forgotten band. Which record label LAKE was on?
Thanks for posting this tune. I too have the original vinyl in my collection which is mostly from the late 60's/mid 70's. I don't think that era will ever be duplicated. This is by far my favorite Lake cut.
This one of my top ten favorite songs of all time lyrically and musically. If it weren't so long you might have heard it on the radio.

If ya close you eyes and wander off into the song you can be away for a spell.....then it ends and you is back to reality!
