Just because the band got big after that doesn't mean scott is a better drummer. And his drumming sounded the same because its punk drumming, it is all the same. Especially to an untrained ear. And on their newer punk sounding songs on their newer albums (enema or toypaj), travis's drumming sounded very similar. Cause its punk drumming. Its not till they started changing the style of the music where the drummer change was really evident.
That's called selling out. Notice how Travis came from the Aquabats, an already successful band. And they definately went more commercial to. Tom starting writing more and more poppy love songs. Mark started writing less intricate bass lines to keep for travis's drumming. I absolutely love scott. He kept it punk. When he left, he took there punk roots with it. Though enema has a couple punkish songs, they still lost there original sound.
yeah but the style of that drumming in Mutt that Scott did and What's my age again is Travis like to. Travis just puts more flare into and makes it sound fancier. Listen to All the small things, that is all Travis but he has those basic beats that Scott did.
Oh yeah and i am pretty sure Scott wrote What's my age again, Mutt, Dumpweed, and Anthem. The rest sound like they were all Travis originals, besides the flare he adds to the ones Scott originally did.

@buckeyeboyh5 I know , it's not Travis's fault, though I think he causedthe change of the style, but there is some kind of story that says Tom and Mark called Scott to tell him to stop drinking. Scott agreed but the other 2 still said "Too bad". Indeed, Scott had no choice, he said in an interview that he always said about the band: "Let's go this way" but Mark and Tom have always chosen the way to commercial music. They wanted fame, they also got Travis which is aswell commercial.

Yeah i know. I read the same interview. They basically told him "go to rehab" and he said "okay" and they said "we don't believe you. we replaced you". From what i hear, it was mainly Tom. And i can totally see Tom doing that. I mean, he basically did the same thing to Ryan in AvA. And Tom changes his musical style more than any of them (old blink, new blink, Box Car Racer, AvA). I honestly think it had little to do with money, because they had a chance to make it huge regardless of sty.e

He incorporates his Jazz/Latin background into his rock songs. I'm a drummer. I actually play that too. In Feeling This in the chorus he plays a son clave, in and in "and i" in the verse he plays a modified songo as well as a jazz ride pattern in the prechorus, watch the world is latin with a jazz time signature

@buckeyeboyh5 I know , it's not Travis's fault, though I think he causedthe change of the style, but there is some kind of story that says Tom and Mark called Scott to tell him to stop drinking. Scott agreed but the other 2 still said "Too bad". Indeed, Scott had no choice, he said in an interview that he always said about the band: "Let's go this way" but Mark and Tom have always chosen the way to commercial music. They wanted fame, they also got Travis which is aswell commercial.

Yeah i know. I read the same interview. They basically told him "go to rehab" and he said "okay" and they said "we don't believe you. we replaced you". From what i hear, it was mainly Tom. And i can totally see Tom doing that. I mean, he basically did the same thing to Ryan in AvA. And Tom changes his musical style more than any of them (old blink, new blink, Box Car Racer, AvA). I honestly think it had little to do with money, because they had a chance to make it huge regardless of sty.e

Mark doesn't seem to be like this, he didn't change his style too much, I honestly think +44 is a good band comparing to AvA and it still remembers me of Blink 182 while AvA has nothing to do with what Tom used to play. @buckeyeboyh5 He kicked Scott out of the band and changed the band's musical style, but which was still cool in Take Off Your Pants and Jacket and Enema of the state and stuff but then he made Box Car Racer "to express himself better" and got himself a new, worse,musical style, then in the last album Blink's style changed again in a bad way then he quit the band and ruined Blink for good and he went for that gay pants band AvA (sorry , my opinion). Good job , Tom ;) (I am being ironic lol)

@Chachables yeah i think everyone knows tom is crazy. Actually, i do like new blink and box car racer. Box Car Racer is amazing musically. Especially drum wise. Its very complex, and different. Its a good side project that i'm okay with. And as for their last record, i liked that too. A lot. its very good musically too. I mean, every band changes, its going to happen. I think the difference between AvA and blink is mark and travis keep tom's shit to a minimum. AvA is totally toms, and blink isnt

@Chachables See, i kinda doubt that. Especially after i saw their tour last summer. He had so much fun and just wasn't AvA tom. Sure he will have his AvA ideas (and some are good if he does them right, the problem is he doesn't) but Mark and Travis will have their say too. And they can turn his AvA idea into a good song. Thats what happened on their last album and i actually loved it. And actually, most of those demo's ended up on AvA's last album and weren't for blink at all.

Still slurs his words (from being drunk off his ass), still yells random curses in the middle of songs, still makes obnoxious sex jokes about everyone possible, ect. He incorporates his Jazz/Latin background into his rock songs. I'm a drummer. I actually play that too. In Feeling This in the chorus he plays a son clave, in and in "and i" in the verse he plays a modified songo as well as a jazz ride pattern in the prechorus, watch the world is latin with a jazz time signature
