This is a much better quality song than most of the other (crap) entries, it's just not delivered very well unfortunately, no doubt the studio recorded version is much better.
romina power was born in los angeles and is the eldest daughter of tyrone power and his second wife linda christian... she also sang for italy in 1985
She can't sing a note (flat-sharp-flat-sharp-flat-sharp) and he forgets the words. There have been some terrific Italian entries down the years, but this is just dire - and something about the way they perform suggests they know it.
Now, I don't think the performance is up to much here (though I love the way they can barely take their eyes off each other), but the song itself is lovely, and another in a very long line of rather wonderful Ilatian entries.
''sebasnyc'' a très mauvais goût. Romina Power et Al Bano ont interprété pour l'Italie en 1976 l'une des plus belles chansons jamais écrite pour le Concours de l'Eurovision.
Le seul problème est que la version live du Concours fut catastrophique d'un point de vue prise de son et technique. Heureusement, la version studio est superbe.
C'était autre chose que la soupe globale actuelle.
this is the worst song I ever heard at Eurovision... terrible vocals, horrible song, cheesy outfits (even considering the 76s) And I love Eurovision and ballads!
Is this a piss-take? She is as flat as a pancake (and I dont just mean her chest). They fall into fits of laughter half way through, she loiters with a loaded rose (where's she gona stick it?) Half English Half Italian? Bizarre.
Well, it's certainly the only time that an Italian entry messed around with another language except their own (even if it was only by half). But, yes, I have to admit it was the flattest/most awkward performance of the night. In fact, performances like this - or Allan Sorrenti in 1980 - make me think that maybe you have a point in saying that the Italians often got more than their proper due from the juries...
@lwsmackie The song itself is rather good, but between 1:52 and 1:56, Al Bano obviously losts his lyrics. From then on, nice Romina is out of tune, and Al Bano seems to struggle to put back the song on the right track. Too late.
I have to say that the studio version is much better - not only as far as the performance is concerned, but it also has a more contemporary and atmospheric arrangement.
It's funny because that's exactly what I think of "Magic oh magic", only that song sounded well on the stage as well. Only the studio version featured these fantastic 80s keyboards that couldn't be copied onto the stage.
I think this very good, very romantic. Remind about summer! :-) They doesn't sing their best in this song though... (Al Bano forgets the lyrics at some points there)

Al Bano ha dimenticato alcune parole della canzone poco dopo che inizia a cantare.

A nice song, while indeed not the duo's best, both as far as song and performance are considered (I like their entry 9 years later far more).
