  • Do you know of a good chrome oxide for stroping that can be bough in the UK?

Something similar to the Bark River stuff.

I bought some on ebay uk but it's so hard it's impossible to apply to the leather.

    Thx

  • @vjanda1 Hi, unfortunately I don't know of any I am afraid.

  • cool i have been wanting one of the mora's for while I need to get off my butt and get one. nice sharpening skills looks like it worked good

  • @tradbowyer1975 Thanks my friend, hope you get a Mora, they are great knives.

  • great vid the first mora i ever got was a clipper one ofmy favirot knifes but the 711 replaced it for carrying

  • @alexpoz09 Cheers my friend, the Mora's are top knives

  • its beed a long time waiting but you finaly did a sharpaning vid thx mate really did hel me do you still use the c4 dimond one or is that more field use

ceep the great vids up mate XD

  • @247nyle Cheers my friend, glad the vid helped. I enjoy the process. Still use the DC4 in the field, great little stone. Take care.

  • That's not an ice cream truck I'm hearing the the beginnings, is it? Hehe XD

  • @ClaymoreMaine It sure is :-) Next time I will need to get a '99 and eat it on camera :-)

  • Nicely done Colin.

    Top marks mate.

  • @RDPproject Cheers Rob :-)

  • Yet another very exellent and informative video from you Colin =~D

  • @DivC98 Thank you my friend, take care.

  • Shame about the sound at the end Col but nice results nonetheless. Looks VERY pretty. :) Also looks like you've got the startings of a convex grind there too.

I love stropping my blades, once you get good at it you can really get some pleasing results.

  • @Smith28Adventure Cheers Smith, not sure what happened with the sound at the end. Yeah a slight convex on the Clipper, seems to work great.

  • I lost the sound at the end, but really didn't need it because that was some fine results....Dash

  • @mrriprock2 Thanks Dash, not sure what happened to the video I am afraid.

  • Excellent job Colin looks great.

  • @dcox01 Thank you very much my friend, take care.

  • Thanks for the tip...the gumming up is a real problem. I changed to a diamond stone that uses water for that reason. I can not yet bring myself to go to the expense of the Japanese water-stones that Ray Mears recommends.

  • @Greatbloke Thanks my friend. Yeah I am the same, the Japanese stones are pretty expensive.

  • A nice looking edge you put on it Colin. One thing tho....not sure if it's YT screwing up again or it's the video but the video freezes up for a bit and it also looses the sound towards the end. But anyway thanks for sharing and Take Care my friend :-))

  • @SurviveN2 Thanks Dragon, not sure what went on with the vid towards the end. It was fine when editing

  • More Moras!

  • @Doubledig Indeed, thanks for watching.

  • Hey colin, nice job! i completely polished mine on my japenese waterstone, it looks awsome and it doent rust as easily! I was just wondering, is your mora the fixed blade that you usually carry?

  • @gralo5 Thanks my friend, great job with your waterstones, the sure do put a great polish on the blade. I often carry the Mora, other times my Spyderco or Gary Mills knives.

  • Great job. I really dig the contrast between the bevel and the patina.

  • @tendollarword Thank you very much my friend.

  • Nice demo on your sharpening method Brother... works like a dream! Have a great weekend my friend....

  • @intenseangler Thank you very much John, take care.

  • That sounds just like the ice cream truck in my neighborhood.

  • @zhsy00001 Haha, yeah its round here all the time, several times a day, not got an ice cream cone in a while though

  • Hi bigman another stootin job we will have to get you a leather kilt and call you MAC FITZEN great job all credit to you you have one of the best no BS channels on the tube

  • ★★★★★

  • @MadBadVoodo Thanks MBV, hope you are doing well my friend.

  • I love the paracord wrapped around your mora. Simple but useful idea. Do you have a video on how to attach the cord to the mora? Would love to see it! "Make the journey worthy of the destination"...Laurie

  • @LoveRise Hi Laurie, thank you my friend. I have a video of wrapping another knife, it was the Ontario Rat 3 if that helps.

  • @ColinOutdoors Awesome Colin...I'll search for it. I really like that easy way to carry extra cord...well done!

  • @LoveRise Thanks my friend, I hope you have a great weekend, take care.

  • great video, moras are so nice

  • @freddiemjames Thanks my friend, yeah Mora's are great

  • Very nice, Thank you.

  • @RETIREINARIZONA Thank you my friend.

  • Nice work man...=) I like mora knifes....!!

  • @Goose7523 Thanks man, yeah Mora knives Rock!

  • i sharpen my mora the same way, except i seem to do the back and forth motion instead of single stroke. for me they are both exceptional ways to sharpen, except the back and forth motion is faster, but i enjoy spending the time to sharpen, so its all very conflicting for me haha

  • @nvrhaveaniceday Hi my friend, nice one, sounds like you sharpening method is effective and it works. Take care

  • @JBBRUTAL Thanks my friend. Sounds like you have a good method, I must try that in the future, thanks for sharing.

  • Thats a nice look knife Colin, I bet that it is very sharp lol.

Oh I heard your private plane again ahah, Well I think its Ray Mears again, he's watching you lol. Happy weekend.

  • @BuschTukkerMan Hi Busch, haha, thank you my friend, have a good weekend too, take care.

  • Nice work, I don't think you have any reason to doubt your sharpening ability, and slow and focused is always the way.

  • @CliffStamp Thank you my friend ,I appreciate your support and kind words, have a great weekend.

  • Great video Colin! Whenever I sharpen my Mora I always lift it to the bevel and then just a little bit more so it doesn't take away the entire primary bevel but just at the edge. I think I can get it sharper that way. I use a ceramic rod. Thanks man, great video!

  • @BraveTheWilds Thanks my friend. I appreciate you sharing your tips and knowledge with me also, take care.

  • awesome Colin, and a great result, take care my good friend.

  • @UltimateSurvivalMan Thanks my good friend, have a great weekend.

  • I found these for $8.99 a while back and bought 10 of them, it was supposed to be stocking stuffers, but I haven't even thought about it.

This Mora Clipper military is the sharpest knife I have ever had, scary sharp as they say.

Some of my youtubers might end up getting these on a contest or some such.

thanks for the good vids bro.

  • @marvintheboon Nice one my friend, great score on the Clipper. Yeah top knives for the money, I would like to invest in some more.

  • Cool, my friend, looks great, nice polished! Have a good weekend, Sepp

  • @Waldhandwerk Thanks Sepp, hope you have a great weekend too. take care

  • Colin, the sound keeps dropping out during the second half of this video.

  • @Optionsaregood Thanks man, bugger I may have to re-upload the vid then.

  • tip you need to use a bit more oil about double

  • @nutnfancyproject Don't mate, it stone is well oiled and retains it. Trust me I was there :-)

  • coolness

    never had a mora

quite funny but somehow i never got to buying one

  • @BravingTheOutDoors Yeah the Mora is a great knife, hope you get one in the future

  • Another great video Colin. Sharpening after the patina lets you know if your bevel is flat also. Besides, its just looks cool :)

  • @FenrisRising Thank you very much my friend.
