  • @Zander2528 nah, I think you're a better idiot ten me

  • Can i use match heads instead of BP?

  • Can you just buy charcoal powder or do you have to make it? Also do you have to be a certain age to buy BP?

  • @23foger You can buy charcoal, but nothing is as high of quality as homemade. You must be at least 18 to buy BP.

  • @Nighthawkinlight if im not 18, can i use something other than BP?

  • instead of tissue why not recovery wadding its used in model rockets it doesn't burn and its basically the same thing just more expensive however u can make recovery wadding as well

  • i would like to make on without the explotion

  • @nighthawkinlight I love these for special effects in home movies because you can be reletively close to them (6-10 feet) safely!

  • @Nighthawkinlight I don't know if it will work, but if you are worried about the paper comming back down burning, you could try a substitute like flash cotton or flash paper.

  • what is better to use the charcoal powder or coffee creamer?

  • 6:22 the ring shaped shadow looks so nice^^

  • you shouldnt use the charcoal dust because if you breathe that in it wouldnt be good

  • @sk8dood98 You need to work for years in a coal mine to get black lung. Coal is a completely different substance than charcoal anyway. Charcoal is no more dangerous than ordinary dust.

  • @Nighthawkinlight so, can i use charcoal?

  • YOU FOOL! IT MADE A VERY BIG BANG. YOU SAID IT DID NOT MAKE A BANG.

  • @Zander2528 STFU IT WAS SOUND EFFECTS ASK HIM BY PM OR COMMENT! I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I DO THIS ALL THE TIME!

  • @ThePyromaniac500 THEN I USED TOO MUCH BLACK POWDER!!! IT DIDINT EVEN MAKE A FIREBALL!!!

IT WAS JUST BANG AND THE TUBE BLUE UP!!!! THE TUBE BLUE UP 10M HIGH!!!!

  • @Zander2528 try it the right way before you talk shit...

  • @Zander2528 You are a complete idiot

  • @tornadodude1609, you too. XD

  • If, Just if i used a little more BP and took out the main charge could i get more of the same effect without the fire? I was thinking to add a little dirt and some small rocks to it to make it look better

  • @AirsoftDomonation You can try it. I'm not sure what to expect, it really depends how you make it. Do not add rocks, that could be dangerous. If it decides to explode rather than gently blow out the top it could throw the rocks quite violently.

  • @Nighthawkinlight ok thanks also im just wondering if i put this type of charge into a PVC tube that looks like a mortar, do you think the piping may blow? i dont want to try it if there could be felted pits of shrapnel flying at me

  • @AirsoftDomonation Use only paper or cardboard. PVC would also be dangerous.

  • @Nighthawkinlight once again thanks

  • put a firecraker in the tube and then put charcol over it!

  • can i use a toilet roll?

  • can i use aluminum powder?

  • @maxcater1 For what? And no, probably not.

  • @Nighthawkinlight instead of filling the tube with charcol use aluminum?

  • U r so cool

  • Cool video! This is what I have been looking for!! I am making a WW2 film and I was wondering how close can you get to the explosion so you don't get hurt?? But I still want it to look close to the solider??

  • @dbratnickproductions Well I can't give you a table of distances. You're going to have to do your own testing to figure out what distance you feel comfortable with for the size and make of creamora in each shot. One thing I can tell you, never have the creamora facing the actor. If the charcoal holds together longer than usual you want the fireball safely in the air, not engulfing a person. This size of device is unlikely to cause any severe damage, but it could cause very unpleasant burns.

  • @Nighthawkinlight okay! thanks!

  • u r talking to much gust light it!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Can you tell me what and how much of it you put in a first creamora....?

It was a lot louder than second...:)

    Thanks

  • @ZnachiBeatBox95 The explosion audio was added to the video. Creamoras are nearly silent.

  • is there a way you can do this without black powder and almost silent?

  • @nighthawkinlight what would happen if you added a salute to a creamora when it went up? try making a video of it. Also, where can you get creamora's and 12 inch shells if you have an ATF type 54 licence? Also, how heavy are 12 inch, 10 inch, 8", 6", and 5" shells?

  • @trainguy2020 Acepyro is the supplier I would use if you're within their service area. They sell many professional fireworks, but not creamoras. Creamoras must be made on site or they settle and will not work.

  • how do u make a fuese

  • dont make it so small :D

    but its pretty cool

with 1kg it would look better :DD

  • how close can someone be to the "bomb" to look like he could be affected by it but actually be safe?

  • This is brilliant!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting this, man! Probably saved me a lot of time, effort, and maybe even a few fingers.

  • looked like a mini nuclear explosion

  • when u order ur chemicals and stuff how much have u ordered at once thanks man nice vids btw

  • when u order ur chemicals and stuff how much have u ordered at once

  • I think Im going to talk with a friend about making a short (10 sec?) clip of him running for his life with these going off begind him! :D

I have a 6 cue system that I can use for it! That would be soooo cool! =P

  • @HandMadeFireworks I am SO subscribing to you!! xD

  • wtf is going on in the world when people thumbs down this and thumbs up pipe bomb videos....

  • and do u put lift powder or normal black powder ?

  • u put black powder than charcoal izit ?

  • where do i buy black powder or how do i make it thanks

    george

  • do you live in florida?

  • tactical nuke inbound

  • Very cool how would you make this work on a flying RC airplane ? would be a attention getter at a fun fly !!!! Thanks for your expertise !!!

  • @Gofer303 It would be difficult. The charcoal and BP would want to mix together as the plane flew, or the charcoal would settle too much and the device would explode out the bottom.

  • Beauty!! love it

  • This will give me my pyro fix for the day, thanks NHL :)

I'm sure you now exactly what I am talking about, hehe.

  • I made some of your stuff for the 4th of July with my uncles. Thanks for all the tips and tricks and tutorials!

  • @NickyDark17 You're very welcome.

  • thxs man your awesome 4th of july is comeing so i wanna build one so yeah i am gonna do it with my dad thxs so much man

  • what kind of stars are you using in this star mine

  • @canadianfireworks not a starmine it's a creamora

  • In the 1950s I remember pyrotechnitians using Steel mortars at a 4th of July display. This was during the time when aerial shells were lit by hand and not a computer.

I would never use an aluminum can, or any other metallic can. If I was to use a mortar, it would be made of HDPE or cardboard but not PVC. Your tube consisting of a couple of rolls of Kraft paper is the best approach in my opinion.

  • @Nighthawkinlight

would the fireball be bigger if you use coffee creamer? (the powder)

  • It would be different, not necessarily bigger.

  • @Nighthawkinlight

    have you tryed it?

or can you try so we can see it?

  • I have. I have not filmed it.

  • @Nighthawkinlight do you have to use black powder can you use somthing diffrent?

  • @gaminggeek9 Only black powder.

  • @gaminggeek9 Only black powder.

  • @Nighthawkinlight actually you can use Golden Powder too.

  • @Nighthawkinlight actually golden powder can be used too.

  • @Nighthawkinlight y not sparklers or match heads?

  • @gaminggeek9

i tried it today with smokless powder because it what we have, i had to mash it up into a finer grain but it worked OK, i only made it maybe 1/8 power because it was my first try.

  • What is the first black powder you used?

And can i use a toilet paper tube instead?

This is great by the way!

    Nice work.......truly.........nice work!

    <3

  • Check out my page on black powder on my website: grassrootsdiy(dot)com

  • Quick question. Is there a way to make the smoke black?

  • Not with charcoal. Naphthalene will make smoke that is black.

  • hey , can i use birch charcoal for this ?

  • Sure

  • @Nighthawkinlight

ok thx :) btw i luv your tutorials and the other uploads, youre great ;)

i will upload my creamora tonight, feel free to sub scribe :E

  • how can you make charcoal powder without a ball mill?

  • Charcoal can be ground in a coffee grinder.

  • Could it be made like a starmine and sticked into a 3" tube with some quickmatch?

  • Sure I dont see why not.

  • that is a neat stuff!! I will give that a try:) 5*

  • hey if you buiried it a little in dirt would it make the dirt shoot up? like if a bullet were hitting it

  • Perhaps if you used a much sturdier tube.

  • hey nighthawk i must ask you something ive followed sevberal tutorials on how to make bp and all failed miserably the grains were far to brittle please make a tutorial

  • Check my website, grassrootsdiy(dot)com. The black powder page

  • this is on how to granulate?

  • Partially. It describes my entire process for making BP. To granulate I use liquid laundry starch as the binder.

  • how long does that take to dry? can you add alcohol to make it dry faster or is that unnnecesary

  • You may use alcohol, but don't use too much. I wouldn't go above 50% if you want the hardest granules. Water must be present to properly disperse and activate the binder - though it is less necessary with liquid starch than with dextrin. In a dry and warm environment it takes less than 24 hours to dry all but the largest granule sizes. I have used it to fire a shell in the same day as it was processed. Change the paper it rests on frequently for faster drying time.

  • thankyou very much i think i may have to use some alcohol as an additive to the liquid starch seeing as i live in florida. oh and i recently made my first shell it failed miserably due to the crappy grains but ill put it up cuz im proud and thank you for all your help

  • i accidentally created a gasoline fireball once, it was cool but scary too because i was was right over the gasoline, im so glad i didnt catch on fire

  • show a test at night, mutch cooler

  • Basically a simple canon or muzzleloader. But instead of a ball, you use the effects powder. Cool :)

Can you use a toilet paper tube or paper towel tube instead of rolled paper?

  • A toilet paper tube is too weak and will likely just blow out the side.

  • Do you think using sulfur powder instead will give you a blue fireball. I would test it but im currently out of BP

  • It's possible. I would like to see it tested.

  • can i use the powder out of firecrackers? like no spheres but powder?

  • No.

  • you, my good sir, have discovered the newest use for Duct Tape, holding up a creamora while it is being filled

  • powdered sucar didn't work :(, cornstarch: perfect: mushroom cloud up to 5 meters!

  • Comment removed

  • So you move on to my next video to comment there too. Lol, yeah, you're blocked...And pathetic.

  • would a toilet paper roll/paper towel roll work O.K?

  • It would like burst out the side. They are very weak.

  • What kind of fuse is that?

Oh btw if you use a shorter tube it will look more like a grenade or something because the smoke will go sideways too, not just straight up

  • Sorry for the delay. That was falling leaves fuse.

  • 6:44

  • 6:44 LOL sound affects

  • 0:03 LOL sound affects

  • i made one and it works great! just like in the vid. great job!

  • If I were to want a more frag grenade effect would I want to fill with more charcoal powder so the paper explodes and leave the second tissue out?

  • For a non directional effect such as that I would make a small black powder salute and insert it into the center of a sphere possibly made of aluminum foil that would contain the charcoal.

  • lol, stay safe XD

  • gimp.

  • cool i put in some coarse charcoal and the effect was like a ball of charcoal glitter which was cool....i put a vid response

  • BOOM yeahhhhh that worked alright XD, but eh would it work with fine sugar you think, love ur vids, pls reply :3

  • Worth a shot but I doubt it.

  • ok awesome, i'll just try it in the weekend.

  • if i put powder instead of milled charcoal, the result is going to be the same righT?

  • What sort of powder? Dirt, sawdust, sand, black powder, smokeless powder, what do you mean by powder?

  • answer*

  • guys i really want for you to answe to me... so you put in only powder at the begging and cover it with toilet paper and then you put cornstach mixed with poweder or only poweder? plz answer me !!

  • Put more thought into your questions so someone reading can understand what you're asking.

  • i am very sorry about that plz answer me! !!!

  • I do not understand your question. Try again. If you want me to use my time answering your questions at least take your time and write them clearly.

  • ok,at 00:59 you add black powder just for covering the bottom,at 1:13 you put toilet paper to cover the black powder, at 2:19 what are you put in? only powder or powder with cornstach or flour? :))

  • Powder is an ambiguous term. That is milled charcoal.

  • it was just charcaol there was no cornstarch

  • i think he means what are u putting in at 2:19

  • I think that it's to use wrapping-paper

    ~Remixje~

  • Absolutely. That's the only thing I've ever used... The idea is exactly the same; that you're not going to wind up with shrapnel if something goes wrong.

  • the flour didnt make any fire tho

  • i made one last night and just did it, AMAZING! i had no lift powder and didnt feel like maiing it so i did a tiny bit of meal and it was crazy awesome

  • flour???

  • absolutely. thats what i use and it works great

  • NICE

  • the tissue kind of looks like a piece of what ever blew up floating down from the explosion on fire

  • yeah i agree. sometimes when i make a video about war or something, i add shredded bits of a t-shirt and bloody (red food colored) tissue to make it look like someone got blown up ;)

  • keep up the great work mate. would you know about any restrictions in receiving visco fuse via amazon, and it being sent into australia?

  • kewl

  • I may have mist it how do i add sound dude ?!

  • Overdub the video with the sound of an explosion in editing.

  • stink one

  • use boiling wax and water. it looks better.

  • Great tutorial! I made a couple with flower...i posted a video :D

  • i cant figuer mine out i try this and it just looks like a fountain of charcoal

  • Use faster black powder and more of it.

  • how do i make faster black powder i use 1.32 ounces on kno3 , 0.26 ounces on airfloat charcoal, and 0.17 ounces of sulfer. then i granulate it with denatured alcohol

  • Im not a expert, but did you ball mill it? That's makes it a hell of a lot faster. Also, binding it with red gum makes AMAZING homemade BP. Check out skylighter's red gum black powder tutorials.

  • R these safe enough to b within 5ft of them when they go off??

  • They could cause burns at that distance. I suggest using a green screen, or make a larger one and put it farther away.

  • k thanks...im making a movie and i want good explosions that look rly safe...this looks best. thanks for the video! any other explosion looking things that cud b safer...without greenscreen?

  • These are just about as safe as a fireball can be. A simple air cannon can be made from pressure rated sch40 pvc and fittings and used to fire a cloud of corn starch and the like.

  • Where do you get the slow burning visco?

  • Skylighter

  • if you sealed the tube air tight with tape would it explode in all directions instead of just being up

  • its not supposed to explode in different directions. this isnt a bomb. its a cremora

  • i made one with charcal worked good Thanks

  • can you make a how to make black powder please as i am having difficulties

  • What is your current process for making it? Send me a message if necessary.

  • buy black powder from walmart

  • Instead of using a piece of paper or tissue to build pressure and better ignition on the charcoal,

try "Estes" "Wadding" it's fire (resistant), cheap(ish), and it blows up into small pieces, so it might work better, for starting less fires, and for not having a big white napkin flying threw the air.

P.S. It's a type of cloth to protect the parachute in a model rocket. "Cache you next time"

  • Nice Wagon ;)

  • im a real pyrotechnical cordinator and perfer to use a mix of flash cotton and flash powder instead of charcoal

  • Why? That must be far more expensive and yield only a bright flash with little to no hanging fireball.

  • the flash cotton burns slow while the flash paper adds the wow

  • In your first comment you said flash powder, not paper. I also believe you have your effects backwards. Flash cotton burns much faster than flash paper.

  • There are different grades of it that burn faster or slower they arent all the same

  • Ah. I make both myself. I do not know commercial products. When both cotton and cellulose paper are nitrated equally, the cotton burns much faster because of being more finely divided.

  • yes i dont make my own but i do make all my other supplies

  • I was wondering were you got the wide variety of powders/chemicals to make this sort of stuff. I'm looking forward to getting into pyrotechnics and can use the practice until i turn 18 lol

  • And it kind of blows when your cracking apart bottle rockets and firecrackers to get black powder and flash powder.

  • once your 18 you can get a license

  • Im not sure where he gets his stuff, but I do know a few websites myself.

    Skyligher com

    firefox-fx com

    pyrodirect com

    pyrocreations com

    highqualitychems com

I hope this answers your question. Be safe, and please involve your parents :)
