@AirsoftDomonation You can try it. I'm not sure what to expect, it really depends how you make it. Do not add rocks, that could be dangerous. If it decides to explode rather than gently blow out the top it could throw the rocks quite violently.

@dbratnickproductions Well I can't give you a table of distances. You're going to have to do your own testing to figure out what distance you feel comfortable with for the size and make of creamora in each shot. One thing I can tell you, never have the creamora facing the actor. If the charcoal holds together longer than usual you want the fireball safely in the air, not engulfing a person. This size of device is unlikely to cause any severe damage, but it could cause very unpleasant burns.

@trainguy2020 Acepyro is the supplier I would use if you're within their service area. They sell many professional fireworks, but not creamoras. Creamoras must be made on site or they settle and will not work.

In the 1950s I remember pyrotechnitians using Steel mortars at a 4th of July display. This was during the time when aerial shells were lit by hand and not a computer.

I would never use an aluminum can, or any other metallic can. If I was to use a mortar, it would be made of HDPE or cardboard but not PVC. Your tube consisting of a couple of rolls of Kraft paper is the best approach in my opinion.

i tried it today with smokless powder because it what we have, i had to mash it up into a finer grain but it worked OK, i only made it maybe 1/8 power because it was my first try.

Partially. It describes my entire process for making BP. To granulate I use liquid laundry starch as the binder.

You may use alcohol, but don't use too much. I wouldn't go above 50% if you want the hardest granules. Water must be present to properly disperse and activate the binder - though it is less necessary with liquid starch than with dextrin. In a dry and warm environment it takes less than 24 hours to dry all but the largest granule sizes. I have used it to fire a shell in the same day as it was processed. Change the paper it rests on frequently for faster drying time.

Im not a expert, but did you ball mill it? That's makes it a hell of a lot faster. Also, binding it with red gum makes AMAZING homemade BP. Check out skylighter's red gum black powder tutorials.

These are just about as safe as a fireball can be. A simple air cannon can be made from pressure rated sch40 pvc and fittings and used to fire a cloud of corn starch and the like.

Instead of using a piece of paper or tissue to build pressure and better ignition on the charcoal,

try "Estes" "Wadding" it's fire (resistant), cheap(ish), and it blows up into small pieces, so it might work better, for starting less fires, and for not having a big white napkin flying threw the air.

P.S. It's a type of cloth to protect the parachute in a model rocket. "Cache you next time"
