Plasma 4.2 overview quickly

lets say i have a computer with no OS on it. (Obviosly I can get the software so yeah) WHere do I get KDE 4.2 and Plasma to put on discs... I guess just KDE 4.2 on a disk like how do I get it off the internet and put it onto a disc?

the easiest way is to download a linux distribution which uses KDE4... i would suggest latest versions of Kubuntu or OpenSuse.

Uhm, KDE is not an OS. It runs linux and probably other Unixes also.

But yeah, I'd just install a linux distro with KDE. I use Slackware but if you're new to all this, KUbuntu might be good.

Hey brother! Plasma is free software, is not exclusive for linux, it's possible to run it into windows or mac-os. Plasma is a very important part of the desktop on kde4, but still, kde. Do you think it looks like gnome? Because plasma is gorgeus, however is simplier, so gnome like.

KDE is a free Open Source Desktop environment for UNIX, UNIX-like (Linux), Solaris, OpenSolaris, BSD, and also is it able to be compiled and run on Mac OS X, and Windows.....

KDE is not exclusive to Linux although it is mainly being developed on Linux, it is not exclusive to it.

Since KDE is developed using portable libraries, it can be compiled on just about ALL operating systems.

Plasma is part of the graphical interface of KDE, which is one of the user interfaces for Linux.

The development on KDE (and Gnome) Window Managers are going so fast. Much faster than OS X and Vista.
