@303MileHigh420 1997 season was also the last that "SHOULDER PAD HITS" were legal on ALL QBs. 1998 NFL banned shoulder pad hits on (MOST) QBs. Defensive players though were still allowed to hit Roethlisberger,Vick,McNair,Gar­rard,Donovan McNabb and maybe a few more I left out. Yep Corrupt league. Thats how P. Manning played 13 years. That was just a magical season for Manning, he hasn't gotten over 33 TDs since, and the rules have been the same. NFL is more passing though, and the rules suck, but it's for the Fans, even though us true fans would rather have a physical game with running, but majority of NFL fans now want high scoring shoot outs.

That doesn't explain how Manning has only had 1 season of over 33 touchdowns since the rule change. Anyways, if you look it up, there are statistics that show that scoring has been the same from 1995 to 2010. No change at all. 1970s and early 1990's are the only times NFL had low scoring.
