as for pvp in this game, it's very pretty but if they dont get a competitive fun system up and running ( like yesterday ) then I have to resign my account. They knew what they had to compete with when they turned the lights on in the SWTOR galaxy, it hasn't been delivered other than the individual storyline questing. Once exhausted, the pvp is thin. World pvp is non existent...by design, besides a single planet lag festival. SWTOR could be the highest peaking and fastest falling game ever.
When you trinket out of an enemy ability, it has to be done. Meaning if you get knocked down by a Op or Smuggler and you trinket, you're up and moving immediately. Not GETTING up, the ability is countered. Done. Presently, when you're knocked prone there s a brief stun and then you rise ( graphically ) but you're still effectively immobile. If you trinket, the stun ends, but you still dont have control. "escape trinket" as is, is broken.

But from what I have seen they have been taking ideas from players and saving them for later just to keep players paying for their games. I was playing my 2200 warlock for years and I have been asking them to fix the warlock destruction spec everyday and they never did it. They still havent done it which is why I hate blizzard now.
So for what are you playing? no rewards nothing? thats fuking boring, im playing to win and to get something like if you say: Yeah no more rewards when you kill a boss in end-game content. see how many people still wanne play it.
With that being said, I think you did make some good points on how to make good arena maps, how to control abilities, and how to balance pve. But sorry - BW/Mythic/EA do not have the skill or dedication to make arena worthwhile.

I think you bring up some good points, but having no titles or a reward system from doing pvp, makes pve look more appealing. And unfortunately, players who seek that competitive challenge won't be drawn to the game. Think of all of the rewards they will probably include in pve instances. There will definitely be higher tiered gear, probably mounts and titles as well. So why include all of that for only one type of gameplay?
the only thing i would do different is give the same comendations for areans as they do in warzones, of course there would need to be a balance in how many you can get in one arena VS one warzone, but this idea with no alternate arena gear i feel would be good.

This is the reason why Guild Wars 2 has an actual chance to succeed as an e-sport, because the devs there have already thought about these issues. I think there should be 2s but have some buff on damage that increases every 3-5 minutes as well as a nerf to healing at the same time and reduce the time from 40 to 20 minutes for a draw 40 minute stale mates are fucking retarded also make it so If there's a draw (which if the nerf/buff system is done right shouldn't happen) then have the team with the most healing and damage combined win so you didn't just waste 20 minutes

If they implements arena, the only thing i would ask for as rewards would be titles and mounts. That wont make the game inbalanced in anyway and also even if i don't get the title / mount. I think they should have some sort of reward for getting a high rank in Arenas. Maybe access to a special vendor that sells cool looking armor with no stats or something, people need a reason to play them though.
I like your ideas except for the idea that you recieve no reward for 3v3's. Constructivly, I am gonna give you some feedback. If you think about it, SWTOR and WoW are both MMOs... In MMOs people are trained (through leveling, through dungeons) to know that when you do something, you are doing it for a reason. You do it so that you can further your character. In WoW terms ( I am yet to try SW), imagine if the developers gave you content, that dropped greens.

I think that the damage should be based and mainly focused of PvE. I believe that this game mostly with PvE in mind, feel like they put more effort into it more than anything, so therefore they should continue it that way.
I know this will not help wth PvP at all. But maybe you could make damage impact in another way during PvP, as you mentioned.

few months back i reported few r1 KNOWN players for selling services and titles. i even sent proof to blizzard with link of the webpage that contained their real ingame nicks and armories. what did they do about it? NOTHING, same people are still playing. most of them were from europe , but some were from dara also.before i decided to quit wow i used to check everyday to see if they got banned but unfortunately i could still see them in guild rooster :(

You mentioned skype, but what proof do you have that the skype they give is their skype? That's the reason they tell you to talk to them on skype in the first place if you /w them in game. Blizz can only prove what happens in game as there's too much deniability behind anything out of the game.
I think it would be good in both WoW and SWTOR that you get cool looking gear instead of getting gear with more stats. Like something to Transmogrify to. But imo the titles are pretty cool in the end of every season. :)
First im not for any arenas in SWTOR, but i am for pvp. I would like to see World PVP events IE: Wintergrasp or Tol Barad. Something that involves the 2 sides fighting for power.
And to help with balancing i would suggest spells having to different mechanics for PVP and PVE so to balnce PVP you just tune the PVP side of the spell and doesnt affect PVE. There is a little of this already in SWTOR. But arenas can be bad if they do it like wow.

i liked your change ideas but dont make it so much like that wow arena with the 4 pillars in cant remember the name not that it was a bad map but stuff like that is so easy to LoS i think there should be some skill involved in LoS cause in wow in 2v2 for example casters that need to stand still alot to cast get screwed by people who kite around the pillars the whole game i think there should be LoS but make it harder to do and more skillful

Zybak not trying to troll or anything but marauders do not have a knock back nor stun. We do get a fear but if im not mistaken the effect is broken once you deal damage to them.

@Politicalupheaval your a waste of time money and resources, lol :P. but seriously. everyone talks about how arena ruined wow QQ QQ. as far as i can see, arena is what MADE wow. i think having and arena also helps keep game developers attention on a lot of detail tweaks. There needs to be a game that competes in the mmorpg pvp front. wow has no one to compete with, and they let their arena go to SHIT. swtor is the only game with the subscriber base to have the funds for this.

Masters degree in BEING A BOSS. i love the ideas, changing up the game play for PvP is a great idea for SWTOR being so new and all, i believe that starting off with simple things like only 3v3 and no high-end reward system is an awesome idea, and they can always addon more later if they have their stuff together, IMO, they shouldn't over load themselves with too much early in game release. will just help with complainers really

I think they should have some sort of reward for getting a high rank in Arenas. Maybe access to a special vendor that sells cool looking armor with no stats or something, people need a reason to play them though.

I like your ideas except for the idea that you recieve no reward for 3v3's. Constructivly, I am gonna give you some feedback. If you think about it, SWTOR and WoW are both MMOs... In MMOs people are trained (through leveling, through dungeons) to know that when you do something, you are doing it for a reason. You do it so that you can further your character. In WoW terms ( I am yet to try SW), imagine if the developers gave you content, that dropped greens.

I do agree with most of this video but I don't see why people would work extremely hard to get rank 1 with no reward. Yes, there will be some people such as yourself who just love the competition but I think maybe if they did just seasonal rewards it woul work fine as well. Maybe instead of permanent titles and mounts, make it so that if you get in the top .5% or so of all the teams on your server then for the next season you get a mount and title. I think that the damage should be based and mainly focused of PvE. I believe that this game mostly with PvE in mind, feel like they put more effort into it more than anything, so therefore they should continue it that way.
I know this will not help wth PvP at all. But maybe you could make damage impact in another way during PvP, as you mentioned.
I think PvP is fun, really fun, but I bought this game and hoping more for the PvE side of things. PvP is great when your not raiding! Just a though

@blackhorror12 They would balance it because it's merely for the sake of competition, that something isn't giving a reward wouldn't mean it's not "importent". The reward would be in the competition itself, for hardcore PvPers to show that they're good at what they're doing.

few months back i reported few r1 KNOWN players for selling services and titles. i even sent proof to blizzard with link of the webpage that contained their real ingame nicks and armories. what did they do about it? NOTHING, same people are still playing. most of them were from europe , but some were from dara also.before i decided to quit wow i used to check everyday to see if they got banned but unfortunately i could still see them in guild rooster :(

@MrLorenz001 that website is legit and its a place for mmo account trading. i did my part of investigation and blizzard could have done that also. after adding them on skype they openly admitted they are selling boosting services. so if those ******* in blizzard were doing their jobs they could have ended this. but LOL silly me why would they toss away 100+$/month just to keep the game "safe"

You mentioned skype, but what proof do you have that the skype they give is their skype? That's the reason they tell you to talk to them on skype in the first place if you /w them in game. Blizz can only prove what happens in game as there's too much deniability behind anything out of the game.

I think it would be good in both WoW and SWTOR that you get cool looking gear instead of getting gear with more stats. Like something to Transmogrify to. But imo the titles are pretty cool in the end of every season. :)

First im not for any arenas in SWTOR, but i am for pvp. I would like to see World PVP events IE: Wintergrasp or Tol Barad. Something that involves the 2 sides fighting for power.
And to help with balancing i would suggest spells having to different mechanics for PVP and PVE so to balnce PVP you just tune the PVP side of the spell and doesnt affect PVE. There is a little of this already in SWTOR. But arenas can be bad if they do it like wow.

@TheRabsicle if you ask me, you should just give the players a reason to attack other factions strongholds, galaxy wide PVP. this would make world PVP so much more fun, and it would give players a reason to actually engage each other in world PVP.
