It's common in cases where the woman is strong-willed and refuses to convert. In Malaysia the Muslim parent always gets custody of the children, since any child born to a Muslim is automatically Muslim by law. I suspect it's similar in other Muslim countries.

It is true that a Muslim men may marry a woman of Ahl al-Kitab, provided she is chaste (Surah 5:5), though early fiqh-law clearly rules this makruh when the couple aren't residents of Dar al-Islam. Muslim women, however, are generally forbidden from marrying any non-Muslim man, regardless of religion. This is supported by Sunnah and Ijma and is reflected by the law in most Arab states and Malaysia. Peace :)

But the Cardinal certainly can't be said to be treating the Muslims any differently than they treat Christians. To me Europe at its best is secular, and I wouldn't be opposed to deporting anyone of any religion if they don't uphold enlightenment values (gender equality, freedom of speech, rule of law etc).

Secondly it is not up to me to chase down those ''not saved'' as my Church teaches it is not our job to judge who is and isn't saved, and that it is possible for non Catholics to go to heaven.
Third. I couldn't care less about disproving Islam. I am not so insecure in my faith that I have to put down other religions to feel better about my own.

The Catholic is obligated to raise the children Catholic, without compromise.
The Muslim is obligated to raise the children Muslim, without compromise.
Neither side may contracept to avoid this situation and there is no loophole in either religion.
If a Catholic wants to follow their faith, they should not marry non Catholics.
The same goes for Muslims.

Women, in general, easily forget and sometimes denounce or dismiss their heritage while looking at prospective mates and partners. Don't forget that both males and females are guilty of this, however, there are sects of humanity that continue to keep their women on a tight leash.

Though we are familiar with Christian religions and our parents, siblings aunts, uncles, cousins, etc who practice Christianity, we are not at all familiar with Islam and those who promote it. I would suggest being extremely cautious and downright unaccepting of it until they've proven themselves peaceful and kind. So far, this has not been the case.

The bigger picture is more important than nitpicking or defending one's own statements. They act as unwavering proponents of their own agenda, militarily, at the core with little or no infighting.
Infighting is similar to inbreeding, it might strengthen the descendants of your people, but it's more likely to weaken them.

The advice sounds a bit paternalistic, but the cardinal is right. Quite a few women lately seem to be attracted by the "exotism" of Islam and find themselves dating/marrying muslim blokes. And then shit begans to happen like beatings, children kidnappings, the lot. Muslim men are terribly insecure and controlling and quite frankly they dont seem to regard their wives as partners but rather as something they own.

Christianity and Islam both teach peace.They also teach warfare/self defence against those who are a threat to them.
You never read the Quran,neither did you ever read the Bible.If you did you would know this.
Bible and the Quran are writen in different scenarios.When you read a book you don't read a sentence and say" ah ha,I knew it!" You read everything with understanding and then you come to a conclusion.
