  • a lot of preferences here. lifting left heel off ground wasn't bad in the eyes of Harvey Pinick and Jack Nicklaus!

  • I hate it when they don't hit the ball at the end.

  • Your Moustache offends me

  • CHECKOUT DAN SHAUGER LEG WORK I HAD LESSON WITH DAN AND HIT GOLF BALL STRAIGHT DOWN LINE NOW HE HAS A LEG WORK YOU NEED TO SEE AND HE HELP WITH MY PUTTING GREAT TEACHES THANK AGAIN DAN

  • robvocal you sound like the biggest douche bag ever and ive only read 2 of your posts

  • @alexg113 ha ha! he should hit us back when he's on the big boy tour!

  • 150 PAGES OF GOLFING TIPS.. TOOK ME BLOODY AGES TO DO THIS SITE SO PLEASE TAKE A LOOK,

  • @dhopper11 These guys are teaching a swing that will most likely only work with tall thin frames. Even at that the key to improving your ball striking and swing in general is not to swing like someone else. Basic fundamentals will help you find your own swing. What I mean by that is based on your body type, your body will only allow you to swing a certain way. I like playing against these robots out on the mini tours cause its fun to school them.

  • Swinging a golf club, here it is, plain and simple, from the takeaway to the finish takes approx. 7 seconds,,,yes that's right 7 seconds. Who in their right fucking mind can process any of these " golf tips " in 7 seconds ??

Sure there are a lot of pros. on You-Tube giving advice and for the most part they do so with all good intentions.

99% of all of this has been made over complicated, way too mechanical and most of the average golfers out there don't understand any of it at all,,!!!

  • @jeanmunn Do all the thinking in your fucking mind in advance, walk up to the ball, and then Just Do It. Nobody says that you should figure things out during the swing. It's too late anyway. Consciousness comes at least half a second late.

  • @kormykoo Thi is why most golfers stop improving after 2 years of playing. In order to improve you need to continue to make solid changes. This requires tons of work and dedication.

  • @jeanmunn it takes 2 seconds, not 7.

  • @jeanmunn whoa there spaz. i'm not talking about waggles and staring a ball down after you hit it. from the start of the backswing (or forward press if it applies) to the end of the followthrough takes about 2 seconds, 3 seconds max. look up any decent swing on here. from the top of the backswing to the ball takes 1/5 of a second. a good tempo should be 1-2-1, 2 for the backswing and the 1 is the forward swing, which really doesn't even take 1 second at all.

    have a xanax.

  • @dschultz6072 Yes you are right, my sincere apology to you, I got a bit carried away with an individual who is Hell bent on blowing a minor matter way out of proportion.

I was having a real problem with my driver and hooking the Hell out of the ball, right shoulder was coming over at the start of my backswing.

We got it on video yesterday, problem has been fixed, from address ( ready to hit ) to top of backswing and down and through took me 3 seconds.

    Again my apologies to you.

  • @dschultz6072 The golf swing only takes .99 seconds.

  • SO are you basically saying that the arns/shoulders moving down and forward will cause the hip to follow?

  • @secrettogolf The hips never follow. The hips are the beginning of the downswing. If done properly the upper body will follow on a proper plane right through impact and allow you to release into a nice full finish. I can talk in simple terms or I can get scientific. which do you prefer?

  • I tried this and I ended up taking a shit right on the tee

  • @Investrite1 ahahahahahaha

  • Great little vid - thanks - what my legs should be doing has always been a mystery to me - not any more : )

  • this is a good lesson for beginners, yet I move my legs even less on the backswing with great results

Locking wrists on chipping is not recommendable, but I think everybody should do what make them feel more comfortable and consistent.

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • very poor lesson

  • Hey.. Check out my swing..! Let me know what you think.. Thanks.!

  • The guy explains the very good the foot work of the modern golf swing. No up to date golf trainer will teach you today the typical Hogan hips movements. This is out. F.e., Woods have changed his golfswing away from the Hogans style aprox. two years ago.

  • Butch Harmon teaches the same quiet lower legs so how off could this guy be?

  • people that teach this are idiots...be careful who you let instruct you in golf...i bet he also teaches people to lock their wrists when they hit chip shots..when all the great chippers use a hinge and hold method..ask phil michelson if you dont believe me

  • Steve Stricker doest use the Hinge and Hold method hes done ok without it.

  • i think this guy reverse pivots in the backswing, not a real turn...he should stick a club on his stomach and turn that! then he'll get the hips loaded, stacked as he called it

  • Golfers are soooo effin sexy!!! I love to play golf in my short skirts with no panites and bend over on the greens in front of hot older guys...SUCH a huge turn on! haha

  • im definatley taking up golf on the off chance you might be on one of the greens ha!

  • You have to use your legs in the golf swing. You have to use your left quad to pull your weight back to the left before rotating.

  • this is a horrible video. I guess if you are 90 this may be the only way, but legs are supposed to be used.

  • @fingersmcoy you got that right with the exception of Stack and Tilt. Otherwise you will hit the ball thin. Great ball strikers like Hogan, Trevino, and Moe Norman had a tremendous forward move using the legs.

  • Humm the complete opposite of watch Mr Hogan taught. What is interesting is the fact that every single one of the greatest players in history had strong lateral moves.

  • that's all good.I strive to get that bouncy feel at address and when the hands get hip high I squat slightly to set the hips and then turn my shoulders against that resistance.

  • friggin brilliant

  • This golf instructions are really nice.

I should take more lessons at exeter driving range to learn how to use the legs perfectly.

Btw you can check out my videos for some more cool golf videos.

    Just klick on my name.

  • Rickumali.......again, I'm crusing through these videos and I also just watch Ben Hogan's video. He starts his legs moving very fast before the upper body. Interesting. It sure worked for him. It would be interesting to try.

  • I just finished watching "Ben Hogan Golf Swing", and it's true. The legs were way more active in Ben Hogan's day!

  • Well really what is most important is not allowing the wrists to separate from the hands. The left hip ensures that this can happen, by freezing the feet especially the big toe no good swing can occur. This instruction is ok for high handy caps but not pro instruction.

  • Bourne....my initial response is, that if it's working for you stay with it. Sound like you have a good game. I also have the 'old school' movement in my right knee where I bring it in too far. Just working on that today with a video camera at the driving range. Hoping to get my hips coming through a little better for a longer ball. Again, do what works for ya !!

  • What's the deal with this? Jones, Nicklaus, and even Woods all use their legs to drive through impact. Nicklaus has said that a good golfer uses his upper body to make good swings... but a great golfer begins his swing from the feet up... (I am paraphrasing)... Any thoughts out there? I am a single digit and swing old school...I am considered a good iron player and ball striker, but people do mention that I have a lot of lower body motion. I would like your opinions and comments.

  • to 62imperial...

The reason he was saying "knees not pointed into each other" is that he said it was for injury prevention. Something that is going to cost Tiger in the long run, hence the three major knee operations. Listen to what and why he says it, as he makes valid points.

  • he is spot on. Quite legs stops swaying and you will hit more solid shots

  • Tom Watson uses hips and legs ..ala the 70's....still plays pretty good golf doin it. Look at the videos of Bobby Jones, the greatest amateur of all time...according to this guy ...he was doing it all wrong.

  • Bubba watson raises his heel in the upswing, and he drives longest on the PGA Tour

  • I agree with the role of the legs. Set them up,keep left arm pit tucked in, head still either behind or over the ball, this stops overswinging and less should turn. Look at Goggins swing in the 09 British Open. Simple. All the tour pros keep theri head still which is key.

  • where is the swing matey?

  • If you are trying to pay for college with a golf scholarship in the though economy or improve your golf swing significantly, get a "GrooveMasterGolf". Hands down, this is the best thing every created for golf training. I bought one and it works.

  • He didn't even hit the ball. What was that all about? Show your theory in action, numb nuts,

  • please dont click me!

  • Tiger pinches both knees in to the center at address. Would you be able to correct him?

  • maybe that's why he keeps having knee surgery one after another....it's just too harsh to his knees...

  • I swear that's Woodley Lakes Golf Course.

  • Brady Riggs

    GOLF Magazine Top 100 Teacher

    Woodley Lakes GC

    Van Nuys, CA

  • YES!! I knew it! I see him basically every weekend.

  • The advice is absolurtely spot on and makes it easier to strike and time the ball for all people. If you slide your legs towards the target your upper body gets caught and you have to time the club squaring with your hands. Most people don't have the talent of a Nicklaus and hence this is a strong and more consistent approach.

  • Yeah lets see- I don't want to do what Nelson,Hogan,Jones and Nicklaus, just to name a few ,feel was the most important part of the golf swing. You don't move your legs for drive or power their role is to put you in the right position.See how much practice you need to time a rotational swing.Slide should be replaced by weight shift then turning the hips you sliders.

  • I definitely agree with this, as I am a slider with my legs. I am trying hard to make it nearly rotational and it works for me.

  • he's right sure you need some leg drive but alot of people over do it look at tiger's swing not that much movement but quite some for added power but not costly for his balance.

  • This is really good advice, fuck off douche bag!

  • His advice is diametrically opposed to what Hogan taught in Five lesson. His advice is going to produce a lot of frustrated golfers who are getting off kilter advice about the role of legs in the golfswing.

  • i ONLY move my upper body never my legs or my weist...hand 3

  • wat the!!

    he doesnt show a swing!

  • your legs still move a lot

  • like the instruction. wonder why the change of leg action from past to now? thanks

  • to make sure golfers don't get better...

dead legs mean dead golf shots..

the secret is in the dirt, not the arms and hands.. horrible advice..

  • *

    *

search "TIGER TEMPO SYSTEM" and become a player

    *

  • I've heard that Tiger Woods' workout routine is intense. Not only does he work the upper body but he focuses largely on keeping his legs in shape. More and more golfers are having to start work out routines to keep up with the competition!

  • swing the fucking club already!. damn

  • The grip is the foundation of your golf swing and developing the right grip is critical to your success in hitting the ball farther and straighter. There are many different grips out there that you can use.

  • The two best golfers of all time--Tiger and Jack--use tons of leg drive. This is the problem with golf pro's nowadays. If you're a very handsy player with upper-body strength, you want little leg drive, like Arnold Palmer. If you're weak in the hands like Jack, you want tons of leg drive. Tiger is a mixture of both, however he is more toward the leg-drive swing in my opinion. The golf swing is not a "one size fits all" type of thing. And the swing hasn't changed in 100 years.

  • Who is the instructor? Is it Brady Riggs

  • it says it in the fucking description moron

  • Ignore this attempt at instruction...This guy doesn't use his legs correctly... look at how he twists his hips to allow a backswing....that is not a reliable, repeatable movement....such a movement results in the straightening of the right leg...consequently altering dynamic posture or creating a reverse pivot... hence why the guy never looks to make a full shoulder turn as he would not be able to get back to the ball without coming over the top!

  • wow! you are a complete dumbass! ......"altering dynamic posture or creating a reverse pivot.".......do you know what the fuck you just said?!?! by opening his hips, hes allowing for a big shift forward with his whole body on the downswing, eliminating ALL possibilities of an over the top action, and by opening the hips, he almost has TOO MUCH weight behind the ball, not a fuck reverse pivot.. you dont know what the hell ur saying, please shut the hell up..... i hate stupid people *shiver*

  • Ange Capotosto would ban you from Good Park if he were alive today.

  • my real name is angelo capotosto.. whos ange capotosto?

  • He was the superintendent at a municipal course in Akron, Ohio called Good Park. I was sure you were related to him.

  • related? i was named after him. and im happy to inform you that theres no way he would ban me.. how old are you anyway? he died years ago.

  • related? i was named after him. and im happy to inform you that theres no way he would ban me.. how old are you anyway? he died years ago.

  • did you know him closely?

  • Yeah, I was just kidding about you being banned. I knew Ange fairly well. He was the superintendent. You should know that Good Park was then and still is the finest public course in Akron. I was a junior golfer when I knew him. He was extra-nice to us young boys learning the game in the 1970's. You were named after a good man, Ange.

  • yes, my dad tells me stories all the time about his hard fights to make the club better.

  • Your dad might remember Ange's "understudy", a guy by the name of Larry Zimmerman. "Zimmy" is still there, now the superintendent himself. Those of us who remember are grateful for Ange and the work he did at Good Park. There should be a placque at least to commemorate him there.

  • LOL..Themutmooty..you're wrong .This what pivot mean in the backswing and downswing.Try it man...It will gives more solid contact and yards..

    RY from Malaysia

  • No your true man, had one dude at my golfcamp doing exactly that thing, opening your hips that much will indeed couse a reverse pivot!

  • can anybody check out my video n welcome comments!

  • The legs are naturally supportive, you dont even have to think about it. Its called standing ;)

I am not so sure about "quite legs", as the body rotates, the legs must move.

  • i have problems with my left knee! i carn't get it in the right postion? any tips?

  • I tend to kick my right knee in, and it does throw my upper body out of line and I'm working on your tips. I hit the ball very solidly today and with less active knees...thanks!

  • finaly someone who knows the golf swing, ppl listen to this vid, everyone on here teaches either a chest swing or a body swing, no, this guy tells ya right, the legs are there to keep you from falling down, not hit the ball harder, NICE VID guys!!!

  • Good instructions and well described in this short clip.

Even in 80's, older pros were instructing

knees "kicked in" and having inside strain.

I think the "active knees" he is talking about can be seen in Nicklaus and Hogan's swings.

But that worked fine for those Master's.

    Thanks for posting.

  • can you check my swing and see if the leg movement is good?

  • Check out my leg movement...Is it correct??

  • Another good one from Brady! Thanx a lot.

  • Thanks for the video... It's been added to GOLF LESSONS DOT TV.

  • good info

  • It would be so cool if you could practice your swing somewhere BESIDES a driving range, and not have to worry about finding your ball. Check out the video under my username (click more4you2) on Waggle Golf!

  • sounds like it's good for the short irons since youre striking down more and you don't have to worry about balance as much as well as a flatter plane of approach to the ball but for the long irons and woods this tip would not be as helpful for distance.

  • passive legs in takeaway but not in follow through if you asked the best ballstriker ever lived, according to woods and vijay. Many good points though.
