  • Should be right he's in loads of trouble but the chev zebra almost gets him out. Too much bog mud.

  • i seen that 40 series in the latest issue of 4wdaction

  • @soup1223 what # was that?.

  • @itsfromlawrence it's issue no. 13 page 10 :) looks pretty sick

  • Holy Crap,That looked knarly as. Hat off to the poor fella in the 40. True Aussie Mate.

  • That would be a Land Rover Diffbuggery?....You should have kicked his sorry arse...

  • Yes......Not the best off-road driver. It's a pity really cause he's giving Land Rover a bad name as the Discovery is usually a very good off -road vehicle.

There must have been a Magnitude 10 earthquake near the camera guy, cause for about 2 to 3 minutes there it looked like a current affair cameraman chasing a crook.

  • What a dum ass yuppie dickwad, didnt even bother getting out of his car to have a chat or thank anyone for helping! Unless i missed that bit, sorry, good on you guys for helping Mr Toorak out in any case. Mind you he gave it a go, good for him i suppose?

  • Good work lads, this is what I love about offroading. No-one gets left behind.

I destroyed an ARB snatch strap a month ago getting German tourists out of a rising tide at Hook Pt on Fraser Island (they ran over it and it got torn up around the stub axle) but hey - you can't just leave people in the shit. Karma comes around.

Great seeing that V8 40 cranking it up the hill!

  • I can't believe all those 4WD experts there, and no one thinks to drop the guys tyre pressures all the way down.

  • Looks like a lovely place to drive. where was it ??

  • nice try but have you's not heard of kinetic ropes....one of those attached and the disco would of popped out like a cork out of a bottle

  • @hillbillycol - that's exactly what they are using when the 40-series breaks.

  • How not to drive up a slippery Slope???? How about How Not to Recover up a Slippery Slope!!!!!

40 Series, 350 Chev - Questionable Drive Line, Front locker in, WTF do you expect????

  • @123cameronj What's wrong with that? Why would you not attempt to climb the hill, whilst towing someone who's towing a trailer with the front diff unlocked?

He'd need all the traction he could get. And he 40 with the 350 was probably used because it would have been the car with the most power and torque to get the muddies to actually do something and keep pull all that weight.

  • That 40 is a beast! What happened at the end?

  • @TravelAdventureFun

The 40 with the broken pinion went off up the track. I was left, mine is the yellow 40 from my other videos, and I pulled the trailer up the track at 5000rpm with mud flying everywhere. It sounded great as it was on song as I would call it. The people got in touch with a recovery person and last I heard they were on their way to extract them.

The owner of the disco was talking about paying for the pinion to get fixed, but I am not sure if that will eventuate as I not heard.

  • I can't count the number of times i've pulled people out of the shit in standard 4x4's , rub's it in even worse when you break something getting them out , but ya can't just leave them there i suppose

    BTW that shorty's a beast !

  • city slicker! I think they watch too many ads on TV with unmodified 4x4s doing anything & everything, it's not reality. I live in the bush and a couple years back I tried to warn a yupee when he was coming down a track in his jeep cherokee that he would never make it, & he dismissed us and kept going, he would have had a fun afternoon/night walking to the nearest mill to get a dozer to get him out no doubt!

  • Gees what a dummy! He was lucky you guys come along. He just wasnt listening about staying off the brakes...he might have had half a chance if he drove it.

  • @mcguckiana u r very right!!! off the brakes ! off the brakes ! off the brakes ! wait too late :s
