  • I met Sylvester at the Copa and met my very best friend at Uncle Charlie's OMG..

  • to all my friends when to perform it took talent not apretty gown and amadeup title

  • Love this song may she rest in peace!

  • Fantastic....the people who are now just early 20s have no idea the fun we use to have...

  • The Frontier, Springfield Mass, Took my first hit of poppers, ripped off my shirt and was in heaven

  • Why is this making me yawn so much? I can see why it was never a hit.

  • @RayL1983 Because it's soothing sound relaxes ones soul! And yes, this was a a hit! One of the best!

  • @RayL1983 In Holland, however, this was a big hit in 1981.

  • Esta musica é tema de um filme anos 80´, não me lembro nome mas é muito legal.....

  • This is brutal. It's like they gave her the lyrics about a minute before she sang this trash and she never read over them.

  • Such a beautiful lady and she sings this with such feeling and emotion, Studio54 can't beat it, it's sung in a way it was meant to be sung other than the original.. Two thumbs up for this.

  • I'D RATHER LISTEN TO VIOLA WILLS THAN LISTEN TO LADY GA-GA!

  • @mrob75 straight up i agree.

  • She not only performed here in Ft. Lauderdale, but she went up to my hometown of Dayton, Ohio to 1470 West and did this song also. Saw her and Pamela Stanely there (Coming Out Of Hiding) at both 1470 West in Dayton and the Copa! Great memories hearing this of both ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank You!!!

  • I LOVED THE COPA OH MY GOD

    R I P

  • RIP we still love you !

  • Maybe it's because of the "new" youtube, but I've searched many times and never came up with this FABULOUS version....great sound quality and of course the definitive performance by the beautiful Viola- she's one of those real performers you wish would be around forever.....she is terribly missed, but will NEVER be forgotten

  • RIP Viola! You were one of the greatest ones!

  • If ...

  • This version of this song also featured on the film "Studio 54" about New York's world famous nightclub of the same name which was open from 1976 to 1983.

  • @ParagramTree a marvelous song in a marvelous club in a marvelous time !

  • Funny how a song about not understanding can bring 2 people together

  • Danm. Very Sad Now. The first time I saw her I was at the Copa with a guy I had met from Switzerland 2 weeks earlier. He went to see his brother in San Fran but came back to see me before he left the country. We went to the Copa and Viola was there. While she was singing this song I remember him turning me around and kissing me. After the lip lock I turned around and she sang this song to us for abit. I smile when I hear it. She gave me 5 great years with him. RIP Viola. You are missed my angel

  • RIP VIOLA!

  • wow. we lost another good artist. one of my songs

  • A lovely lady.....wonderful talent. Thanks for sharing. Many thanks and best, J.

  • Love this song..enjoy

  • thanks for the MANY wonderful times dancing to your wonderful songs, R.I.P.

  • So sad to hear Viola passed away - what a talent - what a voice !!!

...and yes, DiscoBoy, I miss those fantastic days - and, boy, did it keep you fit - having fun and working out at the same time!

A true wonderful escape from reality in those days... now we have 'RAP'; woops, misspelt that... should be 'C-RAP' !!!!

More dance music. "R.I.P. Beloved Viola. Sadly missed."

  • Great!

  • Reminds me of Studio 54, The Club and the Movie. Great Video!!

  • Just a beauttyfull song and a-class preformed.

  • 30 years and still great

  • Nice disco remake of the Gordon Lightfoot classic.

  • THE HAT WAS GOOD ECLIPES

  • Viola was the inspiration and driving force in my early music production career and encouraged DJ James saint James and me to form klubkidz..... thank you Viola xxxxxx

  • THIS WAS A MAGIC TIME FOR ME. I CAN REMEMBER IT LIKE YESTERDAY.

  • What a great song! What a great being singing with all her heart. Precious!

  • Viola was a REAL person, a wonderful perfomer who never let stardom get to her head. I spoke with her a few months before she died, and i have to say, she was so incredibly reachable, remembered me from the 80's, and called me everytime she was in Miami, Ft. lauderdale... I saw her at the copa, Uncle Charlies, and casanova's, and now she is singing for the angels... RIP VI!

  • @honeygood2 I met her in Boston in the early 80s. What a great lady! RIP Viola!

  • Wadda song!! This song will live on forever.

  • I've enjoyed her music lots of time's. And still enjoying. Thanks to late Ms. Wills and thanks poster.

  • viola was one of the primo disco divas

    her charming naivete was overwhelming

does anyone know where this was filmed

if im not mistaken it was for the debut at

xenon all the tell tale signs of xenon are

are there stage/etc people dancing on the right side that are pixcelled out this was one of her first performances she is natural and unstyled unlike the solid gold vid shortly after

i was there that night was anyone else?

  • Every time I hear this song it brings back memories

  • RIP Viola Wills

  • This song reminds me of the "Best" and "Worst" times of my life. I wouldn't change a thing.

Living in Manhattan in the 70's and 80's was amazing. Night clubs EVERY NIGHT. Studio, Xenon, Magique, Palladium.

And yes, after hours clubs. Their was nothing like it. No rules, liquor, gambling, whatever your taste they had it.

    Seems like yesterday.

    gogi
