Such a beautiful lady and she sings this with such feeling and emotion, Studio54 can't beat it, it's sung in a way it was meant to be sung other than the original.. Two thumbs up for this.
She not only performed here in Ft. Lauderdale, but she went up to my hometown of Dayton, Ohio to 1470 West and did this song also. Saw her and Pamela Stanely there (Coming Out Of Hiding) at both 1470 West in Dayton and the Copa! Great memories hearing this of both ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank You!!!
Maybe it's because of the "new" youtube, but I've searched many times and never came up with this FABULOUS version....great sound quality and of course the definitive performance by the beautiful Viola- she's one of those real performers you wish would be around forever.....she is terribly missed, but will NEVER be forgotten
This version of this song also featured on the film "Studio 54" about New York's world famous nightclub of the same name which was open from 1976 to 1983.
Danm. Very Sad Now. The first time I saw her I was at the Copa with a guy I had met from Switzerland 2 weeks earlier. He went to see his brother in San Fran but came back to see me before he left the country. We went to the Copa and Viola was there. While she was singing this song I remember him turning me around and kissing me. After the lip lock I turned around and she sang this song to us for abit. I smile when I hear it. She gave me 5 great years with him. RIP Viola. You are missed my angel
Viola was the inspiration and driving force in my early music production career and encouraged DJ James saint James and me to form klubkidz..... thank you Viola xxxxxx
Viola was a REAL person, a wonderful perfomer who never let stardom get to her head. I spoke with her a few months before she died, and i have to say, she was so incredibly reachable, remembered me from the 80's, and called me everytime she was in Miami, Ft. lauderdale... I saw her at the copa, Uncle Charlies, and casanova's, and now she is singing for the angels... RIP VI!
she is gone but will never be forgotten as she is in our MIND
does anyone know where this was filmed
if im not mistaken it was for the debut at
xenon all the tell tale signs of xenon are
are there stage/etc people dancing on the right side that are pixcelled out this was one of her first performances she is natural and unstyled unlike the solid gold vid shortly after

This is brutal. It's like they gave her the lyrics about a minute before she sang this trash and she never read over them.

So sad to hear Viola passed away - what a talent - what a voice !!!
...and yes, DiscoBoy, I miss those fantastic days - and, boy, did it keep you fit - having fun and working out at the same time!
A true wonderful escape from reality in those days... now we have 'RAP'; woops, misspelt that... should be 'C-RAP' !!!!
More dance music. "R.I.P. Beloved Viola. Sadly missed."

This song reminds me of the "Best" and "Worst" times of my life. I wouldn't change a thing.
Living in Manhattan in the 70's and 80's was amazing. Night clubs EVERY NIGHT. Studio, Xenon, Magique, Palladium.
And yes, after hours clubs. Their was nothing like it. No rules, liquor, gambling, whatever your taste they had it.
Seems like yesterday.
