Daft Punk first had the song, Kay? Then they and Kanye West made the second version together and THEN Thirty Seconds to Mars covered the Kanye/DP version 'Kay?

they had nothing to do with the production of Kanye's song otherwise.

Also, 30 Seconds to Mars didn't include any Daft Punk lyrics in their version. So technically Kanye made a song featuring Daft Punk, and Mars simply sang what Kanye rapped.

No need to be an ass hole, people aren't all geniuses, there's plenty of questions to be asked and nice people to answer.

Un-freakin'-believable. Jared Leto has an amazing way of interpreting songs, he just brings something out of them that I never saw in the original versions. (thinking of this song as well as the cover of Bjork's 'Hunter')

i dont know wht the big deal is. kanye cover the song beat with permission but the lyric are original from him. hundreds of people have done the same thing. cover a beat or the chorus and add a new lyric. madonna did it between others. even the great johnny cash did covers of his favorite songs. in a way is an homenage to the artists

as long as it is done legally and royalties are paid and everythign really don't mind sampling but when you get fuckers like Vanilla Ice who take the main bass line of a song, "spossedly" add in "ting" and call it original thts when I get aggrivated with it. Kayne asked and paid for it and his song is not bad. I don't normaly like his kind of music but Daft Punk was in it so why not?
