Thanks 4 taking the trouble 2 respond 2 my query motika84,
Greeks are supposed to be closer to the Serbs than to the citizens of any moslim state, but I am personally in favor of each country's independence, so I'm glad Hemon draws attention to the insidious effort made by Serbs to promote nationalism through their literature. I haven't seen that theme much in his literature, though. I suppose it's too sensitive an issue to incorporate into one's short stories or novels.
@dembogiatzis Yes, Hemon doesn't write about the problem of Serbian nationalism in Bosnia and Herzegovina in his stories and novels. He writes newspaper articles about that. If I have time I will try to translate this interview into English.
savrseno uoblicene i pitke recenice bez praznog hoda i iritantnog moralisanja...zivotne situacije neopterecene ideoloskim/historijskim/personalnim revizionizmom i naknadnom pamecu, tako svojstvenom kamari pisaca s Balkana....
I am a big fan of Hemon. I am Greek so I don't speak Bosnian. Can anyone summarize what he says in the interview for me? I am especially interested in what he says about Bosnia and the US.
@dembogiatzis@imoogi2 Hemon talks about the detrimental nationalist politics in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Attempt of some serbian writers that Serbian nationalism is incorporated in the literature and thus create myths. This is disastrous for literature and for the future of B&H. He also talks about how he is bosnian writer and write in English. It's not the problem for him, and these two things do not collide. He's a lot said in this interview but it's difficult to translate. This is essential.
You can watch this interview with English subtitles on my channel.
