  • Digimon fanfic FTW!! 5 hours a day. You are basically a huge inspiration and encouragement, I'm still in the concept stages of a young adult fantasy novel. This is purely for my pleasure but who knows maybe i'll get published.

  • Coming from a girl who isn't a twi-hard. It isn't that Bella and Edwards love was obsessive, it's that it was so intense and deep that it could with stand certain things--such as death--and could by-pass even death. Edward and Bella weren't obsessed, they were IN a truly deep heavy love. I think your idea is set on a good base, But you shouldn' t say your trying to fix the damage Meyer has done. Because either way, the book--most likely--will not be as popular as twilight anyway.

  • @summerwonder101 For someone claiming to not be a Twi-Hard, you sure sound exactly like one. I've presented my argument; the burden of proof to back up your claim is on you now. I am interested in seeing your evidence.

  • @shmeiliarockie My evidence is purley based on realism. Love like Edward and Bella's happens everyday. And I'm not a twi-hard. I think Stephanie is a "not so good" writer, and that she could've done a much better job getting the story out. My argument though, is more a reality based. When you love someone--mostly at a young age--it's hard to let go. It's hard to walk away, you want them with you, you want them period. It's not healthy. But it happens. I still don't think twilight is bad for kids

  • im trying to do the same with stephanie meyers wrath its ridiculous.

  • *cheers* GO SHMEILIA!!!

  • Hi I am a big YA reader (my favourite is John Green, obviously!) - I found this video looking for aspiring writers like myself on Youtube. I'd love to hear where this is going/ how it went. If you would like to check out a reading of a bit of my superhero story I am working on on my channel, I would really appreciate it!

  • Hmm we have almost similar plot lines. But I'm a petrachan thus I'm pro love.

  • Oh ? That's cool . I wanna read your novel . I , too , is writing a novel . It's called 'DECEIT'. A love story between a princess from heaven and a demon. It's fantasy/romance. I hope someone would actually take their time to read it.It's on my blog so message me anyone if your interested haha

  • @michbgf Surely you have real life friends or relatives who would look it over for you?

  • I'm not really a big fan of romance novels but if it does get published I may have to read it. I'm only 13 so haha yeah i may read some

  • Who would have thought it, the same thing happened with me, stemming from an HP fanfic though. I would never try to omit dialogue though :o

  • I think I found my soul mate ○ w○;;

  • I'm reading your book. Considering how much you know about literature and mary-sues it outta kick-ass.

  • I started considering writing a story, just a bunch of small bits and pieces for fun. I'll probably take it to the next level, when/if I stick to it. I'm known to skip in between interests. I'm 14, and quite ambitious for my age, but I can pull through.

  • That fanfiction story where you realize your plot can be supported on its own has happened to me.

Actually, most of the stories I'm developing started that way.

    Cheers!

  • I know that this is your opinion, but here is my opinion you say that love is a bad thing but then you say that when their is a death that you need a support structure if you have a person that you love and truly care about they can be yuor support structure and whats so bad with falling complletly in love with someone and caring so much about someone that you cant stand to be away from someone?

  • @BobbieK1997 While I'm not taking a side here, I'd just like to point out that she said 'obsessive love'.

There is a difference. True love is being able to let go when you know that it's better for that person, whereas obsessive love is grasping at the person. Not being able to cope when they aren't there, or being too dependent on said person.

    I hope I explained that weel. :/

  • *well

  • kinda looks like sasha grey

  • I hear you i am also writing a novel to compensate for the twilight saga. it is not a love story per se. it is about a bitter vampire woman who was shunned by her man and she is seeking revenge on him. all the while dating another man. good news is my vampires burn in sunlight and they dont sparkle. i am currently working on the rough draft and hope to have at least get it published by 2011

  • Im also writing a novel called Mr.Advice.

  • I think it's run picking out who'll play what character if a movie is ever made. With me it's pretty sad that I've picked out a lead actor that doesn't even seem to speak English. But I'm sure he'll be willing to learn just so he can be in my movie. LOL

  • I'm writing a novel, too. I'm 14, almost 15, and it should be done by this summer!

  • OMG!! wanna read it!!! =) love your videos! so respect you!!

  • did u finish the book?

  • hm, off topic, but what are those 11 guys who rejected harry potter thinking now? lol

sounds like a good book, good luck!

  • iiiii want to read it!!!!

  • ^^^

    Wants to read your novel

  • I have the best solution, no agent to take your profits!

    h tt p:// ww w. lu lu. co m/

  • it's almost been a year- did you ever finish your book or publish it?

  • @tuddyfruity4, it takes a little more than a year to write a novel.

  • Good luck with your book. I am also writing a novel, and I hope it's good.

Tell us if your book gets published, so I can go out there and buy it!

  • Good luck with it. 8D I'm also writing a novel. Just... Putting that on the table.

  • You give away an element of the ending of your book here. Is that wise? Also what if Meyer's publisher sees this video and discovers that your book is a response to Meyer, who's work you have criticised sharply (justifiably IMO)? These may be barriers to getting published, and may also cause problems with the promotion of your book if a publisher chooses to specifically market it as the "anti-Twilight", thus linking your story to Meyer's mediocre work, rather than having it stand alone.

  • I can't wait to see how this turns out. You have really excellent criticism, so your novel should be very good. I hope I didn't miss this: is it general fiction, or will it be fantasyish?

  • Hm... this sounds like it would be a good book. I'm looking forward to it!

  • I hope it gets published =D I would buy it. I'm betting that its better then Twilight! LOL

  • Probably because it wasn't going to be a garunteed hit. I mean, with a romance, it was garunteed to make money. An adventuorous tale of a boy wizard? Probably more of a risk.

Best I could come up with.

But a sentence in a Harry Potter novel pwns a whole entire Twilight book.

  • It'd be funny if Meyer made a good review on it and it be on one of the covers.

  • I want to read your novel, but I wouldn't like to see the book I'm writing to be made into a movie. It'd have fairly boring parts because she experiences normal life other than her rather disfunctional one. And there are good parts that is her shooting someone.

  • You should make a video talking about your main characters. That's what I wanna do.

  • T_T My little cousin is in love with Twilight, and I've been racking my brains as to what to give her to counteract the poison. >.> Well. What I can give her that she would read, anyhow.

o.o; So, I really, really hope you're successful!

  • (Did you get my other comment? I've left 2 so far, and for whatever reason I can't see the first one.)

Long story short: I AM VERY INTERESTED IN THIS BOOK, AND WOULD HAPPILY READ THE DRAFT.

However, I will admit that, from the way you worded it, it does sound a little gimmicky. To me "obsession" and "they don't stay together" are a word and a phrase that do not fly the same biplane.

  • Obsession is BLINDING. If you really are obsessed with someone, then you wouldn't separate from someone, no matter what. Unless there is some major, almost traumatic, event that leaves them to separate, then they'd never be apart.

It is possible to be entrenched in love with someone...loving someone so deeply that it can be recognized by most as obsession. But it is not ABSOLUTE obsession, and absolution sounds like what you're shooting for.

  • Sweet, glad I'm not the only one.

  • Yay! i hope you get published what am i talking about of coarse you will and I'll see the movie and be like thank god there is a decent series on the shelf's now I'm getting sick of re-reading everything i have (except Oscar Wiled because who could get sick of him lol)

  • I am also working on a novel that started as fanfic, based on the rather obscure anime "Uta Kata". After some artsy-fartsy starts (like yours) I decided to write an adventure novel. The only element from Uta Kata that is left is a slightly romantic subplot between the two lead girls, but it's not too heavy-handed. Writing is fun! I'd love to read your novel.

  • I hope when it's completed and published , that you will tell us all the title of it, so I can go buy it. You've got me interested in it already.

  • what a coincidence--my own novel started out as a fanfic too! mine was based on The Ring and its Japanese original.

  • I would like to read the first chapter! May I?

  • No way! That's like my novel! It started out as a very long Bleach fan fic which I translated into an original story...lol... Hey, it went over really well, so why waste a good thing, right?

  • People like you are inspiring. I enjoy writing but never knew how much hard work it was, and I like your description in the box of it being like a full time job, that gave me a sense of just how hard it is.

  • Book sounds interesting. And yeah, who doesn't imagine their writing as a movie... Am I the only one who imagines his characters in a fighting game?

  • You look pretty in braids.

  • I LOVE writing stories! The series I'm working on currently is really similar to Harry Potter, so I'm just doing it for fun :)

I have numerous other ideas, but the one I'm thinking of doing next is a girl who's like the "arrow" for Cupid, and how she accidentally gets a guy who was meant for someone else to fall in love with her.

  • I have this feeling I know you in real life. Like I met you at some point. Did you live in minnesota or do you have any relatives?

    It's so weird, you know?

  • Your books sounds like the one im working on

  • I'm starting a novel soon too :D It's in first person novel. Won't do into to much detail since I only have 500 characters but it's about a guy who was forced to move from his hometown to a small city. When he goes to school he sees clicks that don't exists in small towns. He makes friends with two popular people but later they become unpopular and they try to bring down the popular people. At the end one friends mother kills her and they're forced to deal with it. Not enough # to explain

  • ah i can relate so much! my book started off from a fullmetal alchemist fanfic and i was like hey--this can be original. so i conformed it to become original and viola! i give you the best wishes! i cant wait to read yours!

  • So, I definitely adore your channel. I first started watching after searching for a sane approach to Twilight. Your book sounds amazing-- very REAL in my mind. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate fantasy books, but I can't stand the 'books' that are really just a fecal pile of words strewn together (twilighttwilighttwilight).

Keep the video's coming! I'll be watching!

    /notastalker

  • I hope it's realistic enough. One of my friends said I wrapped everything up a bit too nicely. I really wanted it to have a happy ending.

  • Ah, I know how that is. I write screenplays, sometimes it's hard NOT to give the character's a happy ending. =\

  • That sounds like something I'd really enjoy. I hope you're able to get it published because if I see it on the shelves I'll be sure to buy a copy. I want to be a writer but I've realized I have a bad habit of starting something and obsessively writing it for a while. Then I get bored and write maybe a chapter every few months or discontinue it entirely. And this is just with fanfiction. So I might not have what it takes but I'll see what the future holds.

  • You have to treat writing like it's a job you don't get paid for. That's the only way I finished.

  • Thanks for the advice. I might try starting something this summer. I've got a few ideas that've been floating around my head for a while. Maybe one of them will turn out ok.

  • hey, is it possible to talk to you through yahoo messenger. I want to talk to you about writing

  • I'm sorry, but I don't have yahoo messanger. But if you would like, you could send me a PM via YouTube and we can talk there.

  • How will it be popular without a mary sue lead, and a presold hook? D:

You also gave everything away... But it does sound interesting. Currently I'd like to read an uplifting romance that I can take seriously, hopefull I'll have found one before your book comes out so I can have some catharsis first, then read your book with a stronger state of mind.

  • Not too many people watch my channel, so I'm not too worried about spoilers getting out. Besides, I left out all the details.

I hope my characters don't stray into Mary Sue territory, but it's hard to tell because I'm too close to them to make that kind of assessment.

  • Yeah, but if you get famous everyone will come and get spoiled! You did leave out the details, but now everyone will know they won't get back together..

There's litmus tests, but they may not be trustworthy. You could share them with some more people, if you can find people willing to evaluate you.

Everytime I'm proud of a character, they score high on the litmus test. But I never know what to change to reduce the score. Maybe it's not that big a

  • deal, as long as they're interesting. Dumbledore in Harry Potter managed to keep my attention, despite having very few flaws revealed prior to his death.

  • Holy shit, so am I! I'm trying to finish my novel-in-making, which is two chapters away from being done (1st draft).

I want your book when your done :)

  • How big is it? Are you using Manuscript format? *is curious*

  • I don't know how big it is, like, 2 & 1/2 notebooks full of crap. When I'm finished with the last two chapters, I get to go through the joys of rewriting and editting all 300+ pages of spew and typing it all onto my computer.

    :(

  • Good luck! That's why I write on the computer, it takes less time.

  • I write at night and I perfer handwritting, so it is a problem for me. I hate typing.

  • I will most likley be buying it! ;D

  • As a writer (working on a novel as well!), I love listening to other writers talking on and on and on about writing. :D

  • Hey, long time no see! I kept forgetting to check your videos, or really just go on Youtube for that matter. I think it's so cool you're working on a novel. Funny coincidence since the reason why I haven't been on Youtube lately was because I was busy writing a novel too. Weird, right?

Anyway your story idea sounds really cool, and I'll be one of the first people on line to buy your book whenever it gets published and released :)

  • I hope you finish! There were times when I wanted to give up, but my family and friends urged me to finish. Now if only I can get somebody to notice me... That's the tricky part.

  • Thanks. My story also started because it was a jab back at Twilight. I love vampires and wanted to do a story about them for a long time. Though mine isn't a "Dark Romance", it's a Psychological Thriller.

Oh and I know me too! I'm quite self-conscious about my stories but my sister's been a big support and won't leave me alone until I'm finished, lol ;)

Im also worried about finding a publisher...But I think everything will come through in the end; for both of us hopefully!

  • It sounds really good. I'd defiantly buy it. I shall stay subscribed and wait for you to make a video with more information about it. ^^

  • Thank you. When there is more to report I will update!

  • i like how your book sounds XD

  • Holy shit! 45 pages a month?! You sure work your ass off much more then I do. Man, keep up the good work! Wish your story the best!

By the way, what is the name of it? I'd be glad to read it.

  • Right now it's going by the working title of Dandelions, but that may change yet.

If I sell the manuscript tomorrow, it may be as long as two years before it's published. So it will be a while before it hits the shelves.

  • Let me know when it comes out; I would definitely read it.

  • I'll probably make a video expressing my joy when that happens.

  • And when it leaks several chapters, I'm sure you won't whinge.

  • Nah. At least not anywhere in public.

  • I will, thanks! I hope the book doesn't disappoint.

  • Dude, I would so read that.

  • That makes me very happy. ^__^

  • I'm doing something similar and today for some reason I got a lot of encouragement to write said book. It's going to be a vampire book but it won't necessarily be aimed at young adults but will also counter SMeyer. I should try Little Brown too! Laugh out loud!

I wish you luck and I'm looking forward to reading it.

  • Thanks! In my opinion, the more stuff there is out there combating Twilight the better. It's done so much damage.

  • I really like your idea of the dark side of obsessive love. sounds intense, and it's definitely something different!

  • Thank you! I'd *like* it to be really dark, but I'll be honest, I think it comes off as more of an angst-fest. But then again, I am my own worst critic.

  • dude i will buy a copy!

    im writing somethign similar too!

  • I guess it's a race, then. ;) How far along are you?

  • Just let me know, and I'll buy your novel too. It's good to know *somebody* still respects the genre!

I usually don't take well to rejection, but I'm going to stick with it! I really want to get this thing out there, and I simply refuse to self-publish. Nothing kills your credibility faster than that.

  • Also, thats an awesome shirt. =D

  • I'll buy a copy. It really cool that you're an author. I would like to be one, but I can't even right a fanfic good enough to post anywhere. Do you have a title yet? And hopefully by 2012 I'll have forgotten that you told us they break up.

  • Hey, you know, fanfic is a great place to start. I wrote three (sadly unfinished) epic fanfics before I moved on to original fiction. So don't be so hard on yourself! It's good training.

I'm thinking of calling it Dandelions. It was going to be something longer, but I like the one word title better.

  • I love Digimon!!!

  • Hehe, I do too. I only watched the first two seasons, though.

  • sounds good
