I am neither Italian or Jewish. I just love this movie for every aspect of any possible human relationship a move can teach you. I watch this movie once a year – just by myself. Me and a bottle of vodka. And I have it all. With tears and joy. Today first time I watched it with my kiddo – he was born 10 years after this movie was shot. He loved it. And that mean a lot to me.
The rape scene in this movie sets up the crucial plot elements that hold it together. Also it shows how flawed Noodles was; this is not about some hero: the movie is about criminals.
@lebarosky also it shows that he was a barbarian and even when he had all the money he could never be the Gentleman she was looking for in him. in essence he was a savage and this scene is truly disturbing.
Extraordinario video con una de mis musicas preferidas del gran Tony Bennet - The good life, no sé quien es el autor del video pero es un genio en la edición. Deseo hacerle una pregunta ¿qué programa usaste?.
his name was noodles, what kinda dego has the name noodles? he was jewish, the only italian there was dominic, who died. i also grew up in a mafia neighborhood.
you know, you italians sure do like to rape women. HAH jk. But I mean, I can forgive deneiro for the first rape at the bank, but the second rape in the car? to the women he loved so dearly? ehhh Noodles had it coming to him. And did anyone else think it was funny when max jumped into the shredder at the end, and noodles was like WTF? haha
Have you even seen the movie ? It's about Jews, not Italians. And of all the main actors in the movie, only DeNiro is HALF Italian and TRUE, the director and the composer are Italian, but I think you got the wrong movie to proove yout point.
yes...i seen the movie...if de niro(main actor) is Italian, Sergio Leone and Ennio Moricone are Italian, ..I can thank them for this wonderful film? they have collaborated to make one of the most beautiful film in the history of cinema... I think that there is some of italy in the film ... do not you think?
Your English is just fine. Yes, this IS an Italian creation in movie history, absolutely. And YES, I thought you were talking about the plot of the movie.
@gianluchissimo80 Unfortunately most italo-americans these days are a shame to italian culture. besides the fact that they don't speak Italian, have no Italian citizenship and have never been to Italy, they are trashy or slutty or uneducated. Not all of them but a vast majority. I am Italian and live in italy
@gianluchissimo80 I'm Italian as well, I love this movie and my Country...
I saw tons of comments made by Italians so "egocentric", arrogant...
Italians have done a lot of things, ok... but they weren't the only ones that "made the history of America"... please stop this shit!
Moreover, Leone, Morricone, De Niro & Co. had their success because U.S. Studios gave them the possibility to express their qualities. Not sure it would have been the same in Italy. Take care.
Bugsy made me laugh..."I see you guys are in business for yourselves now" as if he's really pleased for them. LoL. "I'll introduce myself"(with the nuckleduster)... how subtle.
I agree. I haven't seen *all* of the movie, but I watched some of it and read more detailed descriptions of it. The song seems to fit, but some of the clips just don't flow with the song.
Entirely agree! Here is one of the best movies ever...one f the best music ever...and then by a sudden "this" combination! Leone has no need to be replaced!
Same here...and thank you for your response (I entirely had forgotten about this variation of "once upn a time...") anyhow I assume you know all the "correct" links to this movie! Otherwise, I may tell...:-)

These characters just seem so sad and shallow. The Jennifer Connelly character seems old and used up even as a child.

Por supuesto que vi la pelicula donde finaliza con la sonrisa de Robert de Niro y sobre una conclusión incierta sobre toda la historia.

Yeah, but it should be connected with Morricones music, not with this soft and sentimental song! It doesn't fit the film!

You said it!This is one of the top films(if not THE top) for me and one of the main reasons is absolute unity of vision between
Leone and Morricone.Anybody, who thinks they can improve on that-good luck!
