  • Was this gun parkerized or black-oxide?

  • Why'd it sound like the fire rate goes down during the last few shots? Just spring tension weakening when it's expanded?

  • ???

  • Sound just like the thompson in cod 2 (When firing)

  • yes that is a tommy gun

  • It's no freaking water pistol! And the reason for the slow closeup view is so you can see the words "THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN"!!!! If you could please link to a photograph of what you think is a "Tommy" gun, I would like to see.

  • I would guess calloduty7's comment was from not seeing a drum clip as most people are used to seeing on a Tommy gun. :)

  • He probably expects a coil clip that holds 100 rounds

  • Great video:) Too many kids think Call Of Duty have it right, but not the gun collectors...

It is a Tommy Gun, M1 or M1A1.

M1 has a floating firing pin an M1A1 a fixed firing pin if I'm not mistaken otherwise they look the same.

  • @surfingump I think he was referring to the 1921 and 1928 versions, which had the front pistol grip and drum magazine. This is the M1A1 Military variant. While ideally, they are practically the same weapon, visually, without decent knowledge, this would not be known as a "tommy gun."

  • Tommy Gun=Thompson, moron; get your ass off of Call of Duty.

  • @calloduty7 Is it a Thompson?

  • @calloduty7 go back to machinima dumbass. you can just keep plaing cod

  • big grin after shooting that ;)

  • just a classic american fun gun

  • one of my favorite guns ever

  • xD too fun !! lets chat c my profile! E

  • must be expensive to shoot huh.

  • To clarify, these days, a newly manufactured full-auto weapon can only be purchased by law enforcement or government agency. However, there are plenty of "pre-ban" (a.k.a. Transferable) full-auto weapons to purchase. You should even be able to find some models brand new in the original packaging!

  • Its not that easy, the full auto lisence is through the ATF, if you want it, you better be sqeaky clean and ready to pay 700 a year for your license. The fine print also releases you of quite a bit of your constitutional rights. As in search and seizure, they do not need a warrant to come looking for your registered autos or even a decent reason if you sign that liscence agreement. Those that have it think its OK to modify.. WRONG .. 8 yrs FED PRISON per modified auto. Virgina Tech. changed laws

  • Nothing is illegal to purchase in the U.S. (especially in Texas) if you have enough money. But seriously, full-auto weapons have never been illegal at the Federal level. They simply have been restricted and have extreme licensing (tax stamp) requirements. And good luck bringing any firearm into California.

  • Aside from what many people think it is legal to buy full auto firearms in the U.S (state restrictions in some however). You have to get a license for them and im not sure on the process of that.

  • anyone else notice that towards the end of the first guy's clip the rate of fire dips a bit?

  • I'm not 100% sure in this department, but there are illegal modifications you can do to semi-automatic firearm to make them full-auto.

Take the toothpick as an example, I won't go into specific details, but if you put a toothpick in a specific area in a gun, it's full-auto.

Maybe that's what they did, I'm not sure.

Surfingump: I'm not really sure if you did this or not, I'm assuming you didn't but it's the only thing I could think of.

  • Beautiful muzzle control for a full auto burst! Wow! Gotta love the thompson! I'm from Canada and you can't own full auto anything up here (even the new semi-auto thompson replicas are classed as a prohibitted weapons!) I did get to fire one once at a range in Florida (kodak moment). If I ever move to one of the more conservative states this will be the first "toy" I buy....keep 'em shooting friends and be safe!

  • I know the power behind a single round from a P90 and a .45 would knock you on your ass. I thought it was stupid when the M-9 replaced the B-52 of guns....Colt's 1911. The P90 is a 21st Century weapon, but the Tommy is like a 1930 Mob Boss' Cadillac! Weighted almost perfectly. American Steel. Real wood. And a wonderful sound. A hand-cannon if you ask me.

  • Millionaire's are a dime-a-dozen. I want to own the world!

  • FN P90 pwns this gun wi its leik 50slugs in a clip and armors piercings

  • timmy would shoot his foot with a burst of 45 with a stupid posture for sure. wtf , If it doesn't hurt anybody or anybody's feeling, I call it a good thing.

Btw, in these cases I'd like to be a millionaire.... is it yours surfing?

  • Love the good ol' classic Thompson! I'm definately getting the semi-auto version some day soon I hope(used, I'll probably pay $700-$800, and definately pay the $100 extra for a 50 round drum), but I wouldn't want to deal with the red tape I think even if it was an option in my lefty state. Airsoft or a bb machine gun is good enough for some full auto fun to me. Kudos to living your life as your own, and living your dreams! Just another small example of the beauty of living in a free country.

  • timrocket, you're very gay. You see someone enjoying a wholesome fun activity and equate that with killing something for no reason. HE WAS SHOOTING AT INANIMATE TARGETS! God I'm glad to live in the USA, Europeans think if the government ALLOWS you to HAVE something, there is no personal responsibility to what you do with it, so you shouldn't BE allowed to have it! Hey timmy, you're allowed to have a writing pen, so why don't you just go around sticking it in people's necks?

  • i have the tokyo marui airsoft kind i love it it rules

  • I love that gun!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How much it cost they normally go at 25,000 in auctions.

  • yeah but full auto looks cooler for all of us out there who dont masturbate over pictures of glocks.

  • Yeah, after a while, video of three-round bursts becomes almost as much fun as loading a dozen 30-round magazines of 7.62mm......in a row!

  • yeah but for a youtube video,it looks cooler if you just shoot the whole clip in one go....duh.

  • unless someone who knows something about guns and shooting in reality (as opposed to the "hold the trigger in and use it like a waterhose" idiotic hollywood idea) comes along

  • You only do the "spray and pray" when the "japs" are doing a banzi charge (no offence intended just stating a WWII battle scenario)

  • My Dad, HAS to get one of those!, i want to try one out so bad

  • Sweet. You unloaded the clip all at once. Much better than the other crap videos on youtube where the guys fire in 2-3 shot bursts. 5 stars.

  • nice it has alot of recoil but u take it well

  • you're a fool. 2-3 shot bursts are what the gun is designed to shoot. if you shoot full auto, the recoil puts your shot well off the target

  • thats why they redesigned the flashhider .. to hold the gun a bit accurate and not to raise up by firin.

  • even then, the recoil from the gun in full auto is too much to keep it accurately on the target, thats why its best to shoot in short bursts

  • But normaly you learn it with every gun to do this.

    SMG

    AR

    MG

to shoot in clean, fine accurate bursts.

  • The cuts compensator was actually on the earlier model "1928" they got rid of it to save on time on manufacturing so they could turn out more for the war effort

  • nice!!

  • MAN that makes me pissed at dad cause he had one modifiyd to semi auto and he traded it..

  • badass dude lol nice vid

  • tht thing looks flawless, repro??

  • It is NOT a reproduction. It is a REAL WW-II era sub machinegun. And, referring to a previous posting, yes, the fire rate near the end of the one magazine is slightly off (slower). This gun has seen a lot of ammunition pass through it and was in need of a really good cleaning! But it still fired like a champ.

  • they ar such a beautiful weapon they fire even when gummed up with burnt gun powder and most of the guns used in wwii are still usable today. the only thing i dont like about them is they rattle if you shake them but other than that flawless

  • no problem just comenting on what good of shape its in.

  • why did you call it a tommy gun when its a tompson?

  • It's just a shortened "nickname" that the weapon received, almost immediately after its introduction. If I'm not mistaken, the name was coined primarily by the old-time mobsters (a.k.a. The Untouchables). You know, something to personify the thing.

  • its called the tommy gun 4 short because it was first used in a military situation by the British, mostly commandos, and they love it. British soldiers are also known as Tommys....c the connection.

  • Not as annoying as pissants like you posting stupidity like that.

  • Definitely my favorite submachine gun. The firerate seemed off at the end of the first magazine for some reason though.

    Cheers,

    Alex

  • And you can!.. For 20,000 dollars.

  • For an authentic typewriter(1921 model) you'll have to pay more than that.

  • That's why I would by a reproduction for shooting. If you're a collector. . . Well, you better be rich.

  • I would kill just to lay hands on a chicago typewriter

  • Amen brother!

  • The tommy gun is the coolest, and sweetest subgun in the world.
