  • There is no way this is real...This is the stupidest idea I have ever heard

  • Obviously, if you ban divorce, couples who hate each other with all of their soul will eventually tolerate each other's company.

I'm still defending my brain from sheer stupidity by believing that these people are just professional trolls.

  • Are the people you guys interviewed here for real? There's no way.

  • 2:17 I love it!!! "Umm, Gold? They had gold back than.. We have gold now tho! Right.... Exactly." HAHA

  • ban divorce and the murder rate will explode

  • Defense of Marriage Act is the short title of a federal law of the United States signed into law by President Bill Clinton on September 21, 1996, which is a federal law defining a marriage between a man and a women.

    .

In February, President Obama announced that he would not enforce this Act. He has taken another power grab for the Executive Branch by not following our Constitution, but choosing which laws to follow and which not to.

    .

Just imagine if he did that for Obamacare.

  • the best solution?..nobody get marry and nobody have divorce..thats all

  • okay think of this what about the people who get beat there kids get raped or abused they should stay forced into tht marriage thts rlly smart.....not

  • @amgn971

We actually addressed that very point at 6:08. Please watch the whole video before you open your digital mouth and misspell whatever thought just happens to come to you.

    ~Trav

  • okay think of this what about the people who get beat there kids get raped or abused they should stay forced into tht marriage thts rlly smart.....not

  • wow I must say this people will try to ban stupid stuff.

  • Lets all give a big hand to Henry VIII who made divorce possible :D

  • Okay, it started off smooth...but is this video for real?..

  • @Zynkthe1st

It's real in that exists, but no, the campaign was meant to show how rediculous Prop 8 is, especially when it's supporters claim they're only trying to "proctect marriage"

    ~Trav

  • @sivartis Yeah, at first I thought they were doing a pretty good job of getting their petition signed, but later on when the couples (who were seemingly talking off of a script...) and the lawyers and all that jazz started happening, it got kinda silly. Possibly good cause they're trying to support, but bad way of demonstrating.

I loved that lady who was like "I'm a take a knife and I'm a cut him 'til he dead!" xD Hilarious.

  • @sivartis hahaha ... that's awesome, this shit is bananas. You seriously had me going there for a minute or so.

  • @sivartis Turns out that the drive failed for lack of signed petitions, and that there will be no further effort, but the web site continues to have t-shirts for sale, and donations are being accepted. A disappointing scam.

  • I want to ban divorce....

  • That woman is good, I liked her in Evil Babay Orphanage :P

  • @TheGudZeBadAnDaFozzy

That's Hope Shipiro! SHe's a real honest to goodness actress. She was in the Conan opening episode, an episode of "House", "The Changeling" with Angelina Jolie (!) and of course, co-wrote The Evil Baby Orphanage sketch ;-)

    ~Trav

  • Notice no Prop 8 supporters have had the balls to come on here and say anything!

  • @stefanheikel And any who do totally prove the point of this video!

  • great video!

  • For those of you who think this kind of thing is just a satire, Mother Theresa flew half way around the world in the 1990s to try to get Ireland to reject a constitutional amendment allowing divorces. If you're married to an abuser who hurts your kids, doesn't matter to her. All four major parties supported the change but the Catholic Church fought it. Again, that was in the mid-90s.

  • is as parody ???

  • @XJuanwikoX No, it's serious. Shame it didn't get on the ballot. I guess the anti-gay marriage protection folks were serious about it after all.

  • Nice video, are you guys affiliated with New Left Media?

  • @calaberman

No, though I LOVE Chase's work. This video was filmed in the style of his vids, but as a parody (ie, scripted).

    ~Trav

  • @sivartis Yes I can see it's scripted I was just curious. Lol

  • For those of you who are misinterpreting this video, it is a satire of "sanctity" being an argument against gay marriage. It's a silly argument, which is what this video shows. The acting is supposed to be fake.

  • lol is this fr real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If you give it enough time, there WILL be crazy ppl who WILL do this for real. this satire comes to show what humans can do to make others think as themselves. I dunno how marriage is done in the US, because I live in Mexico. But here we have the choice to marriage either by church or my civil marriage or both. Making divorce illegal here wouldn't be a question of believing in the sanctity of marriage. XD How are things in the US done? BTW, GREAT satire. ^^

  • If you make the mistake of marrying someone who eventually abuses you (mentally or physically), or in a strange situation, these people are saying "too bad, you're stuck in it! because divorce is more wrong that keeping people who don't want to be together anymore!"

  • sarcastic deceitful faggots and dykes pulling another scam

  • Also... I'm really confused as to whether to take the website seriously or not XD Im guessing no?

  • If people are so insecure about their own marriage, they shouldn't impose that fear on others. People who want to ban divorce aren't secure about the strength of their own marriage. Because a couple's marriage reflects only itself. So people should stay out of other people's business.

    Very funny video!!! :D

  • @ThePurbleKing The people banning divorce from my country are catholic priests. They also ban abortion, but do not allow children from single-raising parents to go to cath. schools. These schools, btw, make up 80% of all schools where I'm from.

  • Sunglasses lady is my favorite.

  • this is such a load of BS!!! if you believe in family values, the best thing for a family sometimes is a divorce.... MARRIAGE IS ALL ABOUT LOVE!!!!!!!!! that couple about 1:50 in is SO FAKE. just horrible acting... This isnt a campaign its a mockery of california... IF they ban divorce, Murders will rise, abuse in families will rise. Who's ever idea this was is a moron. The Majority of my friends have divorce families... And their parents all lead happy, productive lives...

  • @xXxCH3SL3RxXx You do realize that this video is meant to be a mockery of those campaigns, right? Like the woman who is saying "like" all the time, and the "I'll cut him" person

  • @xXxCH3SL3RxXx its to show that gays are equal to everyone else and are NOT a threat to marriage

  • Matthew 5:32 - But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.

  • Brilliant!!!

  • Hahaha this was absolutely amazing!

  • I wish I was a CA resident to sign and support this measure!

  • @MrSwiffT Do you know that this is a spoof? Making fun of those who voted for prop 8 and then have suggested a divorce ban? And it's brilliant.

  • lol love this video...people forget that marriage use to be about selling your children for peace or more land ect..but of course that would suit a lot of the heavy religious as they would like us to go back to the dark ages....great video great points made, and you made it funny

  • LOL OMG 2:18 "Whoopsie!!! Let's take it back"...I love this girl!!!! I want to see an entire video with her, she is hilarious!!

  • HAHAHA! OMG, that guy around 1.20 just says it all! "This isn't about love!" Wahahahaha! xD

  • @irishmaestro The rest of it's even better. Great sketch, best thing I've seen all week. xD

  • This is the best of satire!

  • at first i thought this was real, and i was scared.

  • Oh my gosh, I love this! haha so funny!

  • this is a joke right? cos if it's not I might as well just kill myself now. fucking idiots.

  • So really, divorce was illegal back when we had gold? And dogs are the same as kids? And if we're unmarried and pregnant, at least we're not divorced?

    ZOMG!!! SIGN ME UP!

  • Stand up for traditional values and ban divorce!!

  • The woman in 1:00 can be an actress,I love her tone of her voice.hahah.

  • eerrrmmmm she is an actor!!!

    Doy

  • This is one of the most intelligent things I've seen in a long time. Thank you so much for this video!

  • @SeanIsTheFizz

Thank YOU for such a kind compliment! We had a blast making it, I'm glad you like it. :-)

    ~Trav

  • That's brilliant! :-D

    Thank you guys!

  • OMG, this looks like a theatre! these people are bad actors..

  • omg! this makes me happy STOP DIVORCE NOW!!! ....:sheds tears: think of the children!

  • @meryanoneill I hope you know that this video is a parody and making fun of archaic views like yours. Take a psych class. Divorce is fine...and honestly relationships end all the time. If youre not happy you are doing your kids a dis-service. Divorce is the best option.

  • you can suck my cock

  • "unlike a prison sentence, which is only, like, for life"

    haha, lmao

  • Who cares about children? I never want children!

  • The saddest thing about this parody is that people actually say these things.

  • rofl this is funny as

  • What the H-

    I don't have any gold!

    I love the divorce lawyer!!

  • The chick at 1:15 deserves a quick punch in the throat.

  • i'd say she deserves more than that. ugh she's annoying.

  • 'Marriage goes on to until eternity' hahahaa awesome.

  • Well done. The best parody contains an element of truth. Spot on.

  • This is class

Nearly up there on parody level as Bruno ;)

    *subscribed*

  • I'd sign it after what they did to gays.

  • What's the point, it's just going to go over conservatives heads anyway...

Also, it isn't enjoyable due to the overacting.

  • Brilliant!

  • You shouldn't ban divorce because there's always gonna be stupid people who marry people that they don't know all that well. Besides, why ban it if it's an OPTION? you don't HAVE TO DIVORCE. If other people want to divorce, LET THEM. If you let everyone know that you wouldn't divorce, isn't that enough.

Also, what if a man turns into a rapist/killer/pedophile etc. and his wife can't divorce him, what'd you say to that?

  • It's a PARODY. It is aimed at people who want to ban same sex marriage on the basis that it somehow threatens the sanctity of the institution of marriage. If a person REALLY wants to "protect" marriage, then they SHOULD vote to ban DIVORCE, NOT vote to ban other people fomr getting married!

  • @ColbyCheezable

    LOL i knew it.

  • @Einherjar212 fail

  • i hope you know that this video is a joke. you need to watch the entire video before getting upset.

  • Actually, it IS going on the ballot. They should get upset.

  • Great work guys!

  • This kind of looks staged.

The couple arguing at the end in the back had soooo much irony.

  • This is so stage. Funny. great job.

  • yeah but after prop 8 much like prop 22 gets overturned by the state courts as unconstiitutional and i get to say "hey fucking bigotted breeders =P" you know you'll whine and complain to which ill reply "you lost, deal with it"

  • @robertmike57 Um Prop 8 has been shot down in Court and marriages will likely resume in a few months

  • Brilliant. So well done.

    5 stars, Dugg & Tweeted.

  • Excellent! We love it!

  • Thanks so much, I really appreciate that. We're so proud of your wonderful work, too. Keep it up!

    ~Trav

  • These people are just trolling right?

  • The whole reason for democracy is that the majority should rule. A proposition is the most reliable way for the majority to rule. To detest the concept of a proposition is to hate the very nature of a democracy in the first place. This video is essentially saying that the rule of the majority should be overruled by the minority. If you want an oligarchy, then you should have just asked for it.

  • @dreapster fortunately, the USA was designed as a republic rather than a democracy.

  • I don't mean to be rude Murple333, but a republic is merely a type of democracy. You see, a republic is a form of government in which people vote for a person to represent them in making governmental decisions, but the majority is the force that decides who leads. In a way, you could think of a republic as merely an "indirect democracy."

  • @dreapster We're a Democratic Republic, whatever

  • @dreapster

Unfortunately for your argument, there is a Constitution that offers protections to everyone, majority and minority alike.

As someone who has used "democracy" several times in his comment, you should be appalled that in 1865 DC voted to not allow black citizens to vote (overturned by 15th Amend., 1870), and NJ voted to not allow women to vote in 1916 (overturned by 19th Ammend., 1920).

Here, the constitutional protection already exists for not denying marriage rights: 14th Ammend.

  • You see, but even in making adjustments to the Constitution, that was decided by the majority to make amendments to the Constitution. No matter how you look at it, our system of government was designed to give power to the many, and not the few.

  • @dreapster

You are right, in the instances I cited with respect to voting rights, a later action by a higher authority (federal changes to the US constitution) overturned state statutes.

However, in the case of same-sex marriage (SSM), the Constitution already provides for no restriction of rights to minority groups, due to the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment.

States which had similar clauses in their constitutions have allowed SSM by judiciaries: Mass., CA (originally), and Iowa.

  • I'm am quite familiar with the legal situation surrounding the SSM Movement.

This video is attempting to say that there should be certain regulations as to what can become a proposition. My point is that is shouldn't matter how much we disagree with something, everyone should have a right cast a vote on an issue. If Gay marriage had passed in CA, I really wouldn't have cared. As long as the voice of the majority prevails, I am satisfied with my government.

  • Well clearly you don't understand the government that you claim satisfaction with. The government has certain lines that it cannot cross in restricting what people can do.

Most people think we should ban flag burning, but too bad, 1st Am. protected.

Most people think that intelligent design should be taught along with or in place of evolution, but too bad, that would be making a religious law.

A prop. can be suggested, and it can be passed, but if it is against the Const., it gets slammed down.

  • As long as the majority rules, our government works. The moment the few or one person leads or country, our government has failed. The whole "we the people" idea didn't mean "we the few" by any estimation.

  • Since your responses still lack any understanding that the founding document of the United States provides a set of instances where the government cannot tread no matter how popular treading there might be, and a high court to enforce that lack of treading no matter how unpopular, I shall waste no more time discussing this with you.

A final point though ... it's not majority rules anyway, 4 presidential elections where the one with the most votes didn't win & no elections for senators until 1913

  • xD I thought this was real for a second.

    I'm still not sure if the website's for real or not. >_>;

    If it is, then yah.

Jesus still loves you if you get divorced, just not as much as before.

    XD; Yep. Of course.

  • Good job. It took a while to recognize you with your clothes on, One Hot Guy from the Shower.

  • lol I actually thought it was serious until the 3rd person xD

  • I thought this was your project for awesome video. my bad.

  • Wicked video ^^ very well done

  • "...would it?" rofl.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh nice video, can't comment my opinion, might piss too many people off

  • were all these people staged or just most of them?

  • HAHAHAHA "like personally i am not divorceephobic"

    :')

  • So sad that this actually is the majority belief in the Mid-West.

Nice portrayal of the Prop 8 "intelligence" btw. Good job.

  • HAHAHA

    this is so brilliant!

  • Hm. There's got to be better ways to prevent divorce than making it illegal, but still.

  • This is funny! I laughed. Great job portraying the ridiculousness of Prop 8! Why are people so damn obsessed with what others do with their lives? You would think that people would understand the desire of someone to fall in love and share their life with that special person! I am Catholic, and although they preach against it, I think Love regardless of gender is a damn Great and magnificent thing! I am married and straight by the way! LOL.. not that it should matter!

  • Haha I didn't know this was a joke until that girl with the hat. I was annoyed when I didn't know, and I'm annoyed now that I know... What does that say about me? Oh well, I'm also a little amused. I think I'll subscribe.

  • @AKGuerilla Having sex with a gay person would make you gay too ;) Welcome to the club!

  • OK 2 people that no long get alone should stay together. dumb ass narrow minded pinheads

  • Early 1900s "family values:" Blacks cannot marry whites. Interracial marriage was illegal in most of the United States until 1966.

When homophobic uptights say they are defending "traditional family values," I always wonder which "values" they refer to.

  • wow. i love this. epic win.~

  • Guys, this is a SATIRE. It's taking people's arguments against gay marriage and putting them in another context to show exactly how ridiculous those arguments are.

  • XD I love how it isn't really about divorce.

  • What people don't seem to realize is that this video is mocking the statements that the supporters of Proposition 8 were using to ban gay marriage. This is a spoof, a parody, intended to open people's eyes to the ridiculousness of the arguments used by supporters of Prop 8. Chill out and think for once.

  • This isn't real

  • lol

  • Is this a joke?

  • thats what i said

  • "Like personally, I am not divorcee-phobic . ."

    LOL. XD

  • LOL, the women with sunglasses

  • this people are crazy. o.O Not because they are against divorce, but for their motives! That's really ridiculous.

  • BAN MARRIAGE!!!! im against it and it sucks..it makes the man trapped and turns the woman into bitches...but this is funny dude!!! hahaha

  • I call Poe's law.

  • that blonde girl with the sunglasses was being a real idiot. listen to what she says!

    "we had... droughts..."

    "we had... gold"

    LOL

  • I faved at first, then I got to the end and unfaved. It's making fun of values. and it's Extreme, I'm newly married, and I believe that when I made vows to my husband I meant them, If you've seen Up, then the first scenes with the husband and wife are the ultimate goal for marriage. I think there should be requirements that are more strict than what they are now. Ban, no, because there are legitimate reasons to be divorced, but a marriage is a union under God, and should be upheld.

  • The sanctity of marriage...people who are DRUNK are allowed to get married. This is ridiculous. Marriage is NOT sacred anymore. Get over it.

  • Lol, at first I was like FUCKING WHORES! then I was like Lawlz0rs, but then I was like, iCame.

  • haha. took me a minute to get it.

  • Is it normal to get wet watching a national geographic episode on lions & tigers mating?

  • is this real????i think its fake.....

  • Marriage is a right. Letting people vote against it is letting people decide if someone should live or die.

  • Yes this is satire, but it's not that good for satire

  • The government should have nothing to do with marriage whatsoever. I married my wife in a Church, the promise is between me,her and God. If a "gay" couple wants to have a gay marriage that is their choice, Just don't take away my freedom of speech to say I don't think it's moral.

  • Ban divorce? 2/3 of the country gets divorced

Lets say some guy is beating his wife. Oh well that sucks you can't divorce him.

This video seems fake to me, and staged.

  • Its satire.

  • fuck this shit, you're all pissed cuz the Mormons protected marriage at the ballots. If you let people vote, they'll solidfy the definition of marriage.

Remember, Jesus said that Moses allowed for divorice because people's hearts were stubborn, but that wasn't how it was designed.

  • How can you protect something that half the people don't give a fuck about?

Yes half of all marriages end in divorce.

  • @HereticJutah that mostly speaks to the vanity and/or stupidity of our society. irregardless, whether people chose to enter in or exit a marriage, it's definition is fairly clear (and has been for thousands of years across every major religion, nation, culture, creed, etc.)

  • I believe the definition isn't clear, yes at one point marriage was a joining of two lives into one single loving family.

Now you have people getting married for money, or fame (really, just how sacred IS marriage when you have shitty TV shows marrying people to nearly complete strangers) and just how many people have said marriage is like prison?

  • Did that boy say he turned gay ha ha. That's impossible!!!!!!!!! At 4:11

  • ''I am not divorcephobic''

  • genius

  • This is just the most brilliant thing I've ever seen! Much love from an East Cost Mo!!!!!

  • Great!! keep it rockin travis

  • Interesting...

  • ROFL

I love the fat guy with the sunglasses' explanation :D

  • the girl in the sunglasses tells so much truth.

  • This was very funny and the fact that it used the same arguments that were used for banning gays from getting married. Prop. 8 was such BS.

  • Yup. Too bad for it's supporters gay marriage will likely resume in California in a matter of weeks. Perry v. Schwarzenegger will begin on January 11 and last for 2-3 weeks. The judge in charge has already indicated to be favoring our side. It all depends on how broad his ruling is, though he was/is willing to grant an injunction of Prop. 8 as a result of the trial being delayed.
