@StephanieBergeron It's a play on words. He's French, and gives a french word, then english translation, then displays on object bearing a trait of said word. For "murer", to mature, a green pepper is seen transitioning to mixed green/orange then to red. If you've not grown peppers before, they start green, but if left on the vine will eventually mature to red. I think where the confusion is coming from is the repetition of objects being halved, or cut in half.

@StephanieBergeron What I'd really like to see would be something like teeth marks instead of a clean cut with "manger", to eat. Or for "digerer", to digest, a stop motion of something rotting, or otherwise breaking down. Even some kind of liquid moving through tubes. I like where he's going with it, but given the general reaction of confusion I'd consider it an "etudier", or study.

The "to plead" part seems symbolic, in the sense that you bare your heart out to be heard. Or it could mean that the lawyers pretty much take everything away from you and leave you with nothing but the heart...^_^;

Lol guys in fact, he shows all the things of life (like having fun, getting old and more mature, etc) with some food on a truning plate (to make the transitions between those facts of live).

But it's easily understandable that people who don't speak french don't understand it. For ex., for the part 'plaider' ( = to plead in eng) at 1:02, he shows a fruit that's called 'avocat'. But in French, we also say 'avocat' for the man who defend you on court ( = 'lawyer' in eng).
