  • sshhhhh ! be careful in N.Y. !! all the minerals you find in this state, by LAW belongs to the state !!!! even if its on your property......so, mums the word

  • Sorry, I missed your question Martelnews. Found out it is a half of a nickel 3 cent piece. All found by panning. In the same Pocket no less. Saw the Indian head penny as I way cleaning the bedrock.. Just stuck in a little clay pocket.

    thanks.

  • @freddy130wrestler Unfortunately, no one has ever found any substantial gold in NY. Your best bet would be to take a weekend trip to Ohio.

  • Great Question. I had no idea. I thought I had a half of a dime. Another miner told me it was a silver 3 cent piece. Back in the day, one cent meant something. If you didn't have a penny but had a three cent piece or even gold for that matter, they would snap it in half. The money was precious metal. Didn't have to be whole.

The other pieces are parts of silver jewelry. I think it being soft silver, just got smashed by some rocks and shattered.

  • why are all of the old coins that have been found in other videos broken in half like that?

  • forgot the name of this group

  • just what I thought, big nuggets to be found in staes like Vermont all that New stuff...New York...down to Georgia

  • @princerasta1982 Actually Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont. Mass has a little. Michigan, Ohio, have gold. Then not much till you get to Virginia A Gold belt runs from Virginia, Through N&S Carolina into Georgia.

Google gold history of any state and it will give you some great information and places to look for it.
