How do all three movies coincide? Are all three THE Warlock, or do they just play separate warlocks? very evil, this guy, played by Bruce Payne. Julian Sands' character was also very evil, but this movie was more dark and scary than the other two, IMHO.
Bruce Payne's forte is playing charming but evil roles. Here's words from Warlock 3 director: "Bruce brought to the film his own brand of evil intensity and the suave charisma that was required for the Warlock. In the first two movies, Julian was very smooth as the character, but Bruce makes for a scarier villain. You feel he is capable of more evil than Julian."
--Eric Freiser, director/co-writer of Warlock III from Fangoria Magazine, October, 1999
I fully concur on what the director said. Like i said in my first post, this movie was more dark and scary than the other two. Two different actors can usually produce two different approaches to the character, and in this instance, it's fully evident. When Payne's Warlock turned the girl into a glass image of herself, and then used the candlestick to smash her into a billion pieces, that was really amazing! One of the best, and most unique, horror movie kills i've ever seen!
Someone needs to post this movie online, I used to own it on VHS before they went defunct and haven't seen it in several years..
