@bradske45 i wanted it as high as possible so it takes up less room in the garage in winter and so i can load it onto my truck to plow elsewhere. you cannot get a quad in the back of a truck without removing the plow every time.
Much simpler design for getting the plow out of the way to climb steps, than what I built. The only benefit in my design was the cam over feature of the front arms along with the spring to create downforce.
This plow would be good for an ice rink, or maybe very smooth pavement. But for uneven ground (such as gravel driveway), you would need skid shoes. I don't see any on there... ? Or do you mean that it maintains ground clearance so wouldn't bite in? You might find that once you get rippin around, plowing snow, that sharp blade will be bouncing up and down, catching on stuff, and you'll actually get a more even job if you install some skid shoes.

yes of course you could. i will be adding a new video within the next 30 days we are starting to get some snow when we get enough i will show it working hard. i will also make another of some of the closer parts how i built it
yeah just drive it were your going to plow screw loading it on and off a truck hell by the time u load it id already be to the next job & be done time is money man
@davidangelmorin ill be doing a new video as soon as it snows here probably in a month or so and i will do more close ups of it. costs as much as you can get the materials for. all the steel under 100$ here. pump and hydro lines etc 200$
Very Cool stuff amigo, I'm in a Fluid Power Program at my Tech school and our club is deciding what to make for a club project. This might be a good idea.
@mackyyoyoyo there is very little pressure put on the rack. it is only there to pull it off the ground. plus in order to get that amount of lift it has to pull from as high as possible
knowing how to fabricate your own parts and make due from what you have is a very important skill in this economy. plus, you can make stuff so much better quality than ANY manufacturer
fucking awesome man wish i had the materials to make one hydraulic tht is amazing gotta apprisieate all the time and effert ppl put into stuff great job!!
I am still waiting for snow to film it in action. we had 3-4 snowfalls by this time last year. had a small 10" dump of wet snow and it worked very well but didnt get a chance to film it. hopefully soon
This is where i had it hooked last year with my old plow and it had no problem plowing 12+ inches of wet bc snow. if it does break there I will be sure to beef it up
Looks great and seems to function perfectly. My only concern (as previously mentioned by another post) is attaching to the front rack. I think it's only rated for about 80 pounds max. Throw some wet snow on that blade and there could be a problem. Otherwise it's terrific work and looks awesome.
Thats not good hoking the winch on the rack it puts tension on the welds if you lift it while pushing snow and it can break the welds and damaga the racks. it happened to my friend. he has a vinson 500 and thats how he had his plow set up but now he attaches the hook from the winch right on the plow because he broke the rack. Nice plow and set up though
That's fuckin awesome
