You can have up to 6 different costume slots to choose from. I'm not sure what you mean by equipments. There are extra costume pieces you can get and special enhancements for your characters powers. It's a very fun game that is continuously updated with content.

At level 6 and beyond instead of choosing another power from your primary or secondary power pools you just select a new power pool such as flying, super speed or teleportation. Then at level 14 you will have access to the second tier of that power pool allowing you to choose your travel power.

You can buy a time card. Thats what I do. With a time card you can juse activate it for this month, then stop playing for how ever long you want. Then buy the time card again whenever your ready, thats what I do. And yes there is a trial.

Unfortunately you must purchase this game to play. They do not have a free trial. I purchased the City of Heroes: Good vs. Evil edition which contains both CoH and CoV for $29.99 which includes a month of play. Fair deal I would say. Good luck.
