The Spanish started attacking the Taino they fled to the interior where the Poutuguse lived. The British came the Spanish turned against the blacks they came with, who they treated as equals, those blacks fled to the interior of Jamaica. The British brought many slaves many who fled were helped by the muslim blacks who came with the Spanish.

Yes , for example creole people from new orleans speak a mixture of french and english for that same reason. Anywhere where there was slavery has a patwa. Its does not sound the same or its not called patwa but its a mixture of languages. The Spanish didnt come to the U.S but the English and the French did. Our English is not spoken like English in England ("Propper" english). therefore it is a creoloe, patwa, etc.

I dont think there is any way n the world for us Americans to show which groups of Africans we consist of, the way Jamaicans n the rest of the Caribs can. Because as far as I understand, we have the lagerst variety of Africans becasue the East coast is wayyyy larger than the Islands. Yes , for example creole people from new orleans speak a mixture of french and english for that same reason. Anywhere where there was slavery has a patwa. Its does not sound the same or its not called patwa but its a mixture of languages. The Spanish didnt come to the U.S but the English and the French did. Lady learn about Africa, firstly there is no language called African. Ashanti were an Akan group with an empire and learnt to fight as soldiers not because of Europeans. And how do real Africans look? For your information Africans come in many shades of brown and black your ignorance about Africa is very obvious and quite shameful to hear from a Jamaican woman. The years after the Christian conquest of Granada were filled with acts of outrage such as murder, rape, enslvaement and imprisonment against the Moors of Africa. The acts of outrage grew as the christians consolidated their conquest. In 1499, the bishop Cisneros demanded that all Moors should be baptized into the popish crusader legion of Rome if they were to live as free citizens.

every western european state, from sweden in the north to portugal in the south, participated in the commerce whichb was to change world history. the aboriginal peoples of the caribbean and central america were virtually exterminated in the wake of the search for gold and silver. in jamaica and barbados , the arawak and carib population were killed by buccaneers and pirates who roamed between islands.

Your comment is 100% untrue! The only people who were completely exterminated were those who landed on the slave ships after less than 5 yrs of arrival. 2nd, the native people of the Caribbean were black people before the Asians known as Carib, Arawark etc arrived and many survived to this day. Caribbeans today are mixed-race, even the darkest ones and many, including me, have a mixed Arawark in us.
There is NO such thing as 'Afro-Jamaican' as said before. U R African, we know

Obviously, but how would she know that? She wouldn't, as African have many different languages. She wouldn't be able to tell you exactly what language was being spoken.

@alphaacad Hotep, there is sufficient research done in the area of jamaica and language for her to be able to give a short list of Afrikan languages which were prominent among the Afrikans in Jamaica. She should be better informed.
