  • i would like to know really how he made this, the problem is that the title is very misleading

  • is this from 1980's pc monitor!!!

  • my school used to use this, and yes, if one pc dies (plug gets yanked by a retard) a whole row is fucked.

  • what software uses in the main pc? ica? terminal server? please improove the audio

  • 25=25

  • he speaks fast and freaking hear nothing

  • I like the 3 desktop PC's under the table. :)

  • How are Windows license issues handled?

  • @delahaya it's actually a linux machine you can do this on any standard distro, this vid kinda sucks

  • @EnoCrux

    Thanks for the helpful comment.

  • @delahaya yes, the way that linux can handle users, not very skilled in that area but some distros can have as many as 255 users on one account. I'd look up thin clients if you want to learn more.

  • @ippbx4 what OS is being used in the video? Windows XP with a program? PLS REPLY!

  • why is this technology taking so long?

  • did anyone else notice the 3 other desktops UNDER THE TABLE!??!?! with the power lights on??!??!?!

  • What CPU is being used in this video?

  • Yeah 10 workstations on 1 Pentium 4 client.... Not s smart

  • will it run Crysis?

  • can you play minecraft on all 4 machines?

  • Company I used to work for used Citrix, the servers ran the sessions and a load of Dell optiplex machines and thin clients would connect to the sessions via network. Bit slow sometimes, but the system was handling a lot more than than it was meant to originally. An interesting system, and like one guy said already here, virtual machines is not a new concept at all.

  • WHERE DID YOU GET THESE VIDEO CARDS?

  • here's what i like: the ability to run the workstations off of one tower which is price efficient and a smart idea; the open source operating system and applications. the idea in general. what i don't like- no clear way to obtain this from the website, the hardware necessary for ten users to do anything other than type a paper is going to be extreme. running ten concurrent users playing flash videos, running their text software and switching between apps will require a 8 core tower and 16gb ram

  • Has anyone else noticed that there is 3 more pc towers under the desk...

  • Exactly ther other way is what the user want. Withe 10 Workstations using one.

Not the other thing. Because it`s bullshit.

And the last word is: NOBODY NEED THAT SHIT !

  • pretty sure this can be done with xen

  • Cool the most you can do is watch youtube...

  • he got 3 video cards on cpu but he's running 4 units ( monitors that were open ) what the fuck!!! where did he connect the fourth monitor??

  • @sleeplessarki

    to the motherboard

  • Did I see 3 computer mid tower cases under the desks there? Sir... you lie!

  • Very powerful can you implement 1000 for me? I fuck vmware view and MultiPoint Servers

  • what... the... fawk... did you just say?

  • more than possible you guys need to do some research and learn before criticizing ....multi user computer have been around for years now...you can even use windows 2000 to setup a multi user system...use your brains first before using your mouths

  • more than possible you guys need to do some research and learn before criticizing ....multi user computer have been around for years now...you can even use windows 2000 to setup a multi user system...use your brains first before using your mouth

  • more than possible you guys need to do some research and learn before criticizing ....

  • i have a 12core processor mac pro i wouldnt even do 10 on it... your gonna burn the thermal glue off that processor lol dumb ppl.. you can buy 10 pcs for 400 dumb ass

  • you can see three computers on the bottom and their lights are on

  • If 4 monitors are plugged in, surely it would just be quad-monitors or whatever it's called? You did not explain how you get the monitors too have seperate accounts - and like other people have said, there are 3 other towers under the desk. Fake?

  • Saving Documents, Psssshhhh, More Like Saving Porn

  • How come i see another 3 pcs under the desk???

  • bla bla bla big lags and in the end when this only one pc dies all 4,6 or 10 users are fucked

  • @Chakotay2222 lol epic ownage.

  • @Chakotay2222 Exactly. I'm all for Linux and even Mac because I'm highly against Windows, but just speaking Linux-only, this is total bullshit. I know it sounds all fun and neat, but a network is the way to go. It takes power, fuck your energy savings, and it takes individual computers as well. No pipe dreams, and the idiots that made this are making tons of money off of turning decent machines into slow and clunky ones with no consideration of that fact you stated "If one goes, they all go".

  • @Chakotay2222 That's what backups are for.

  • @Chakotay2222

The good thing is, if you do 30 head setup, you only do maintenance on one pc instead of 30 which can take you 1 whole day.

Just back up the partitions externally, so the one computer can be recovered easily.

  • @Chakotay2222 Wrong you fucking prick. 1 computer 1 problem solved in minutes.

  • I have a question, since you are hooking up to 10 monitors to one PC with each handling a different task, would that limit the power of each work station considering they're all using the same CPU?

  • @MechWarrior324 think about 3rd world countries...one 'powerful' computer can provide a resource to many students..

  • @CGDWorld I can understand it being used as a Server, but I mean, that's one Processor working for up to ten different people. Now just imagine if each of those people had multiple programs opened. I believe that would put some serious strain on your PC.

  • @MechWarrior324 the desktop would probably have to have some pretty good components

  • @MechWarrior324 Yes, massively.

  • @MechWarrior324 not with indian processors xD indian processors are 126 bit processors that run windows like a bitch, they have 90 thz with 5 core processors so u can plug more than 10 workstations xD

  • @darkdevil905 Lol, nice! Wouldn't mind having a few of those. xD

  • @MechWarrior324 yes it would you're limited by the amount of power given to the one machine, the one workstation is however using linux and ram and processing power aren't necessarily issues

  • This is fantastic for a classroom!! I would like to know if there is a way to make it work with a CyberCoffe sofware so the PC is allowed to be used and time is recorded...Thanks, great job!!!

  • @dfuentes80 There is a version specially for Internet cafes, that includes some great management software, like being able to charge for printing, time out of user sessions after expiration of purchased minutes etc. Check out kiosk.userful.com

  • Notice how the "flash disk" has been transformed into "flesh disk";p

  • @MXClarke i just hope this guy is not refering to an actual workstation computer. he could have at least said how to turn 1 pc into 10 virtual desktops for being able to have 10 users at 1 pc

  • @Uploafer64 Ja, its 10 virtual desktops, In South Africa, workstation is often used to refer to a knowledge workers desktop or laptop pc. The promotional video is aimed at getting the concepts of the userful multiplier across because, to many people, its hard to understand the solution without seeing it. It's a cost-effective and energy efficient solution. Many internet cafes use.A great way of addressing the digital divide in the 3rd world and making more access available to everyone.

  • Hi @Uploafer64 A wokstation, as in a user's work station, is a desk with a computing device that enables the user to peform their work. I hope that helps.

  • omg Do you even know what a workststion is?!!!!!

  • Would be cool, if this works with Eyefinity.

1 HD5870 manages 6 monitors, so with 6 5870 you can have 36 Monitors. Hurray!

  • @dangi12012 Yeah I know they were looking into that at userful. You should also see some of the small form factor PCs that can be used. The Taiwanese manufacturers name escapes me now but they have 5 video cards in one small form factor motherboard! Ideal for libraries etc. Will post when I find the link again.

  • Well the product is used successfully all over the word. We use it with our clients with great success. I can only assume you have never used the product @NEONreplay or are more likely a troll with limited skill. Just google userful and Brazil for more info.

  • HAHAHAHAHHA

  • how is this a product? This is just a noob who took a crappy pc and put in more video cards. And if each user gets its own desktop then why did he go on YouTube on one comp then it showed up on all the other screens? I'm an environmentalist but I hope this guy knows that no one will ever want him to come and set up in their school. Go Mr. Jelly Bean.

  • @NEONreplay You are really making your name tit, calling people noobs when you are clueless. You claim to be an environmentalist psst! This solution cuts power consumption by 90%. What consulting advice do you give your clients?

  • @MeTellNow I was saying that this is a product that doesn't work well. Very clunky. That's great that it saves 90% of power consumption, but it doesn't matter if the whole thing is crap.

  • there's three computer hard drives underneath the desk you noob

  • @latdan2008 don't be silly, this is the same solution that was rolled out on 400 000 work stations in Brazil about two years ago.

  • Comment removed

  • @latdan2008 yea, haha saw that too.

  • so show us how to set it up

  • stfu u arab

  • @fearlifter13 lol
