  • when spanish jews expelled from spain, did jews come to muslim ottoman empire??? you re joking, ottoman empire was 40 percent christian till 1915, jews came to cities like izmir(smyrna), istanbul(constantinople),salonika, both cities are not muslim at that time,at least 50 percent greek christians.say true,be true, sephardic jews din not emigrate to saudi arabia,if islam is that perceft, why is there a country of saudia arabia on earth without woman rights, human rights....

  • ottoman turkey was succesfull for 500 years ,because 40 percent of population is greek orthodox christians, armenian gregorian christians and jews, both these groups worked for the otooman empire as busisnespeople, jewellers, artisans, navy officers, translators, etc, today turkey is 99,9 percent muslim, maybe in the future if christianisty is introduced and planted churches in turkey and 30-40 percent poulation become christians ,it will be much democratic.otherwise no light at the end of tunnel.

  • mustafa akyol is from turkey, turkey is the most developed country once in 60 islamic countries, but its turning to sharia law slowly everyday, 70 percent of woman in turkey wear, hicap or niqap, woman are 50 percent illiterate. Prophet mohammed had 12 or some wifes, youngest was aisha who happened to mary at 6 and had intercourse at 9.what to say more!

  • forget this junk, the Islam Heaven is full of sex! you wood b stoopid not to become Muslim! These guys would be sex freaks is they were not Muslim. So, do it the right way. Get those Virgins!

  • 2:46 - "... taste grits as breakfast, which was quite an experience."

  • 38:57 - "Facebook and Twitter turn out to be more liberating than the bombs of [George] W. Bush."

  • Von Mises on Islam:" Islam inspired the sons of the desert to lay waste ancient civilizations, clocked their destructive fury with an ethical ideology and stiffened their courage with rigid fatalism"(Socialism p.461). Maybe you should change the name of the institute…

  • @genji77 Great quote. Von Mises would in no way support this promotion of an ideology that has enslaved so many and destroyed so many cultures. A simple glance at Islamic states shows how backward and against free market enterprise they are. Listening to this guy is like listening to a Marxist - they always talk about how great their ideas are, but never show you an example of them in actual practice.

  • @1wowee

And who said 'Islamic' states are Islamic? No, they're just Muslim by name. There's MAJOR Islamic loopholes in every Muslim country which openly contradicts the Quran and Hadith and early Islamic history.

  • @TheChristianityWatch Right, so you claim there are no Islamic states? Whether they contradict qurap and hadith is secondary. They still hold this child rapist muhamad as prophet and example to SOME extent. And he was filth, so to the extent that they DO follow him, then that's the extent of their stupidity and evil.

Islam is garbage, because muhamad was garbage. It would be great if there were NO states that followed anything he taught

  • @genji77 With all do respect, Von Mises is fking human. He was not a scholar of Islam, he didn't even have basic knowledge of fundamental beliefs.

  • I wanted to give props to Mises Institute for having such an informative and needed lecture. Thanks! It was extremely informative, it's funny when he's like; yeah you know those numbers you guys use to do all your calcs, yeah arabs invented those.

  • Please don't say you believe in individualism and then start throwing hate against some label, some group. Made up of individuals that you don't know anything about and with such a rich history that it would take a lot of reading and learning to understand. It's very disappointing to see people that claim to be libertarian can show such a disdain for a religion. Ironic.

  • Oh Mises U, you are so wonderful until some bullshit like this happens. I couldn't care less what some authoritarian asshole wrote in a book hundreds of years ago.

Stick to objective reasoning in economics please

  • @RealLiveDebates - I think history and cultural evolution is something that is learned very little that I think the world would benefit tremendously from learning more. F A Hayek stressed this point in talking about the evolution of trade, markets and money and the role that tradition plays in facilitating human progress. You should check-out "Fatal Conceit"

  • @RealLiveDebates - You obviously did not listen to the lecture. You should, it's very informative. If you like learning about history you should like it.

  • @MaribelTipton I OBVIOUSLY didn't? how so? I actually did FYI, but be interested in knowing how you concluded that I "obviously didn't listen" to it.

Anyway, Islam needs to die if humanity is to live.

    Peace

  • @RealLiveDebates - I guess it seemed to me that your reaction towards his speech was so antagonistic that having listened to it myself it didn't seem appropriate. But I guess if you listen with prejudice and a close mind it's pretty much irrelevant what is said in the speech because your opinion was formed way before you heard the first word.

  • @MaribelTipton You can "guess" all you like, but I always listen with the intention to understand, not to evade understanding. The premise on which everything he says is built, is the premise of un-reason, denial, lies, demagoguery etc

If you think you can show me I'm wrong you're welcome to do it. I don't look for videos in order to NOT gain knowledge, so obviously I'm always up for learning something new. I didn't learn anything new in this video, but you're welcome to explain it to me

  • @RealLiveDebates - It's very ironic to me that you end the sentence;"Islam needs to die, if humanity is to live" with "Peace". For the ideas that you are advocating will lead to war and death. Do you understand that Islam is a wide spread religion like Christianity,a fifth of the world population is muslim, that is about 1.5billion people.Islam is not ending any time soon.We are better served by trying to be accepting of human beings of different faiths, this is more likely to lead to peace.

  • @MaribelTipton I never said anything about initiating physical force. By "Islam needs to die" I meant the idea/philosophy of Islam needs to be slain on the battleground of passionate discourse, debate, and advocacy of Reason. It needs to be fought as the corrosive poison that it is, but you can't kill ideas with guns. Ideas can only be killed with thought, reason, argument etc.

  • @RealLiveDebates Well good luck, maybe you can start by looking for your lacs, and not lacs in Islam . And if you say that you didn't learn anything new from this video. I can only say that you are lying. You are not a Muslim and 80% of Muslims don't know all of facts presented in this video. Maybe it will be helpful for you to know that Islam is not going to die, ever, so find another hobby and stop waisting time.

  • Comment removed

  • @MaribelTipton "We are better served by trying to be accepting of human beings of different faiths, this is more likely to lead to peace. " That's doubtful. Religion has a tendency to never want peace. Atheism is how to achieve peace on this front.

  • @masonkiller666 Yes, because atheists like soviets were such a peaceful people...

  • @paulvahur Was the Soviet Union cruel because of a lack of belief in a god?

  • @MooseOfReason no they were cruel koz they were tyrants religion or no religion isnt a emphasise of difference between us. and this guy is the dumb a welfare state is not a socialist state its a capitalist state with social programs!

  • @paulvahur Soviets were not violent against their own people because they were atheist. They did it as a result of A. Abusive parenting B. Communism.

  • useful idiots.

  • Muhamad was a warlord and thief. Mises lost a lot of my respect when they brought this clown in. Amazing and sad at the same time. Why are Islamic states massive shitholes that don't even produce a bicycle? Because Islam is so inherently capitalistic?

Mises is normally great. This was pure crap

  • @1wowee @1wowee-You can't look at a religion as if it operates in a vacuum. The point he is stressing is that there is nothing inherent in any religion that it needs to be a certain way and even more if you look at the origins of religions you can follow their evolution throughout history. And in the case of Islam his point is that if you go back to its origins you can see that A LOT of what we think of Islam today is not part of its origin and therefore gives hope that Muslims can rethink Islam

  • Excellent and informative lecture! Thanks for posting.

  • seni abim gibi seviyorum ve gurur duyuyorum seninle.iyi ki varsin

  • @SuperNolimetangere Everybodies? So we should bring back Aztec human sacrifice, and Nazi Jew genocide? Let's peacefully elimiinate Islamic intolerance, antisemitism, and terrorism instead. Maybe if the Qur'an didn't spend so much time defaming non-Muslims as worthy of torture and murder like Mein Kampf did to Jews then Muslims would be more peaceful. Just a thought.

  • ReligionOfNice and commentators with similar views are bigoted, ignorant and carry a whole load of braggadocio. Islam is a beautiful religion. You lot, probably pay a lot of attention to the orientalists and media spin-doctors. The language of Arabic is rich and the semantics of words are vast. A word can have multiple meanings, and the meaning of the word is related to its context.

Go and support your Tea Party politicians, and leave Austrian-libertarianism alone!

  • @AshNaz87 No I just read the Qur'an and the biography of Muhammad. Both are vile.

  • @AshNaz87 Islam is an authoritarian religion which advocates the murder of apostates. Many a Muslim will talk about freedom without even understanding the concept. It's not freedom to claim that apostates are like traitors and therefore one can kill them without violating the concept of religious freedom. Many a Muslim has made that argument to me over the past decade. There is zero in common between libertarianism and Islam. I've read the doctrines of both, and spoken to many Muslim

  • Respond to this video...

The fact that you think Tea Party and Libertarianism are incompatible shows you are just another lying troll.

  • Also, for those who truly want to learn about Islam, speak to your local Imams (who are trustworthy) and to any converts to Islam you may know. Don't listen to Fox News or some demagogue.

  • @AshNaz87 Like any cult they lie to you to get you go join. They will lie to you about the life of Mohammad for example telling you he was peaceful when in fact he was a warlord who committed many crimes including defamation, incitement to violence, rape, torture, child molestation, murder, extortion, robbery, and genocide. What they should do is go on Memri and see translations of what Imams really say in Arabic to their followers.

  • Comment removed

  • @AshNaz87 Muslims lie about how tolerant their religion is. They are the ones who are braggadocio about having the most peaceful religion in the world. Lying that Islam means peace, when in fact it means submission. They claim that Indonesia is tolerant when in fact the behavior of Muslims there for centuries has been about persecution of non-Muslims. Just look up "christians attacked indonesia" to see what Islamic tolerance is all about. It's not just in Saudi they can't build church.

  • At Freedom Fest in Las Vegas in 2007 (I think) Ron Paul (who is really awsome at debate) was debating Denish Desuza on forien policy in the middle east and islam. IF a debate like this happens agian please consider teaming Ron Paul with Mustafa Akyol. Not the Doug Casey isn't awsome to listen to because Doug Casey is an incredible speaker, but there would be a great debate from and Islam POV. Just my opinion.

  • @anarchylogic Unfortunately Ron Paul sabatoged his own run for president when he said that the US deserved 9/11 in the presidential debates. Make no mistake supporting Islamic intolerance is not a winning political strategy here in the US. There is NOTHING that justifies flying planes into buildings full of innocent civilians conducting peaceful trade. Paul is the guy who shows up a funeral and starts arguing that the murder victim contributed to his own death.

  • @ReligionOfNice

"Unfortunately Ron Paul sabatoged his own run for president when he said that the US deserved 9/11 in the presidential debates."

Except that he never said that.

  • @ReligionOfNice I went back and rewatched the vid of Ron Paul and he never said that. He said the we should consider what our own CIA calls Blow-Back. Saying we should expect Blow-Back and saying we "deserved" an attack is not the same thing. Was it right and just for them to do that? NO.

  • @anarchylogic He said they attacked a building full of innocent civilians because we were "bombing Iraq". It's sort of like going to the funeral of a girl who was a raped and murdered and commenting that "she always dressed slutty". He's like lots of libertarians who ignore history before a certain point. Pearl Harbor is our fault for the embargo of Japan, completely forgetting that the Japanese had invaded China and were committing atrocities.

  • @anarchylogic The you tube video of him sinking his candidacy is watch?v=zjQYg5RoH2s and you can see how it was taken. NO ONE, NO ONE, was cheering on Ron Paul when he said that. Giuliani burned his shorts with one sentence. Should we avoid entanglements? Yes. Can we? Not always. Does that justify flying planes into buildings full of innocents. NO FUCKING WAY.

  • This guy is twisting things.

The Prophet (SAW) stated that food and water should be shared by the local community, and not owned for profit. He also said that shelter and clothing was a right which everybody was entitled to. These are Sahih Hadith. The Prophet DID allow trade and markets to exist, but he said that this should for non-essentials. There is also a Hadith where the prophet is stated as saying he hates the market place more than any other. Trade was a neccessity in his culture tho.

  • @PersianPaladin The Qur'an calls for taxation, the Jizya, and an authoritarian Islamic state, with rule of Muslims over non-Muslim, yet these stupid Anarcho-Capitalists don't see the incompatibility. Why don't they just hold a conference on the compatibility of Marxism and Mises.

  • Auburn, National Champs!

  • It doesn't matter what "some scholars" think Islam preaches. All that matters is what the majority of Muslims think Islam preaches. And evidenced by the state of most Islamic nations not funded by the West through oil, it is not free market libertarian message.

  • No anti-Semitism in the Islamic world until Israel? Surely, you jest. What of the Qur'anic anti-Semitism which likens Jews to pigs and apes? What of the multiple pogroms, one of which is the Granada massacre of 1066, in which many thousands of Jews were murdered by Muslim mobs?

Mr. Akyol may know about the trade relations of Islam, but he definitely doesn't know history. Btw, so-called "Arabic" numerals were taken from Hindu numerals and were not invented by Muslims.

  • @JonasSalk His talk is so typical of my experience with Muslims talking about Islam. It is lie after lie after lie. Several of them have claimed that Islam is compatible with libertarianism, yet specifically will defend actions that are completely at odds with libertarian philosophy. One of their number one problems is the use of equivocation of words in their thinking. When two words sound the same but have two different meanings they will switch between the two.

  • @JonasSalk Thus Jihad becomes "peaceful struggle" when in fact it also means "war of religious supremacy". We have words like that. For example, crusade, but no one purposely confuses the two and claims the crusades were about pacifism.

  • I refuse to scroll down and see the fruitless mudslinging on this one.

  • unsubb

  • Osama is dead, 9/11 was a false flag operation. Nothing but a joke TERROR THEATER. Nothing about 9/11 can be done by amateur pilots who could not fly cessnas. 9/11 was a State Intelligence Psy-Op.

  • @lonewolf1369 Bullshit, their names were on the passenger lists. There are numerous other pieces of evidence. For example, cell phone calls to relatives saying that they had been hijacked by Muslims. Muslims have a long history of hijacking planes, and using terror to get their way. What of the thousands of other suicide attacks. You are a lying Muslim or a fool.

  • @ReligionOfNice Keep being scared of the bogeymen.

  • @ReligionOfNice AHAHHA those cell phone calls were IMPOSSIBLE to do! At that time it was IMPOSSIBLE to do cell phone calls from planes, and now the FBI refuses to confirm whether the calls were made because the technology didn't exist at the time. What names on passenger lists? They NEVER RELEASED THE OFFICIAL PASSENGER LISTS. It was just a "compilation" done by "asking" so called "relatives and friends." No, it was Israelis who were hijacking the planes, POSING as Muslims.

  • @ReligionOfNice read about the fake Uganda El Al hijacking, now declassified material admits it was just a staged operation done by Israeli Intelligence. Lavon Affair was another declassified phony false flag terror operation. Israeli agents posed as Arab terrorists targeted British and American consulate buildings. So was the King David Hotel bombing. Israel has so many cases of past false flag terror ops it's laughable that idiots like you keep believing that shit.

  • @lonewolf1369 How can it be a "false flag operation" when Osama took credit for it, you idiot?

  • @ReligionOfNice You mean the fake videos with him having a full black lush beard even though previously he was seen with gray beard, sick and dying? That phony CIA stage show? The fact is, the PHYSICS and CHEMISTRY of 9/11 DON'T CONFORM TO WELL KNOWN SCIENTIFIC LAWS. Read up on the research done by architects and engineers for 9/11 truth, and pilots for 9/11 truth. The FLIGHT DATA from the alleged black box of the pentagon crash DOESN'T AGREE with the official trajectory.

  • @ReligionOfNice the FACTS of the matter rest. The physics and chemistry are IMPOSSIBLE. The buildings DID NOT COLLAPSE from jet fuel, they were DEMOLISHED. They fell at FREE FALL SPEED, which proves that there was no "pancaking" of the top part of the building, "pushing down" on the rest. They found NANO THERMITE in the dust of the WTC. This is a high tech military explosive, that can only be MANUFACTURED.

  • @ReligionOfNice ReligionOfNice, you are just another brainwashed fool who BELIEVES THINGS THAT HIS GOVERNMENT TELLS him. You are disturbed by the facts that Governments would LIE on such a MASSIVE SCALE concerning 9/11, that you have an EMOTIONAL BLOCK to believing it can be true. The FACTS speak for themselves. There was no building "collapse," and there was no "hijackers" doing sophisticated maneuvering that even EXPERIENCED PILOTS CANNOT DO ON THE FIRST TIME. And there was no Pentagon plane!

  • @lonewolf1369 LOL, keep telling yourself that. Sophisticated maneuvers like crashing a plane, after someone already took off for you? It wasn't their first time at the controls. They went through flight school training. I know all about your crazy conspiracy theories and they don't withstand the slightest scrutiny. I'm not writing an article for you. Google 'Popular Mechanics debunking 9/11' and stop sounding like an imbecile.

  • @ReligionOfNice yes sophisticated dumbass, like GOING OFF THE OFFICIAL FLIGHT TRAJECTORY AT THE PERFECT TIME, and making the perfect angle, direction, speed, and turn to HIT a small target from MILES AWAY! What a brainwashed fool you are! they did tests and EXPERIENCED PILOTS could not have done it on the first try! AHAHAH flight school training??? Flying CESSNAS that ALLEGEDLY they couldn't fly very well at all anyway??????

  • @ReligionOfNice and what about the absurdities in the official flight recorder data? The data doesn't even coincide with the official reported flight path or altitude of the pentagon plane. The flight recorder data showed that the cockpit door of the pentagon plane was CLOSED for the entire flight, how if it was "hijacked"??? There are NO surviving plane parts with identifiable serial numbers at the pentagon crash. It's all a big LIE and you fell for it

  • @ReligionOfNice and what about your precious cell phone calls??? AHAHAH, those were IMPOSSIBLE to do back then, you completely ignored that too AHAHAH...you've been HAD sucka...Instead you trust crap popular mechanics, which the article was written by a shill who has connections to the government. Nano-thermite? oops you ignored that too...the TOP of the structure was DISINTEGRATED when it fell, therefore there was NO MASS to push the rest of the columns down!

  • @lonewolf1369 Oh, and lonewolf I was reading and understanding Mises, Rothbard, Spooner, Paul, LeFevere, etc. long before you were your daddies wet dream. Don't tell me I believe whatever the government tells me because of an emotional block, when you can't understand the difficulty in conspiring in the first place. Hey, stupid Al Queda took credit, Islamic terrorists had bombed it before, and they have done many bombings since.

  • @ReligionOfNice Al Qaeda never took credit, that's absurd nonsense. If they really did, you wouldn't need the CIA to put a fake bin Laden with a rich black beard on a stage set! HAHAH bombed it before???? Even the 93 bombing was tied to Israeli intelligence! Lavon Affair, King David hotel bombing, USS liberty, those are all done by Muslims too huh???

  • @lonewolf1369 ... and you dope, steel weakens first before it melts in a fire. If you did more than just play video games you'd know that. Some metals like aluminum burn. Get out there an play with some fire. Join the boy scouts or something. The steel diffusers and the grill are both sagging and warped because the grease caught fire while the burner was on. When the metal is red hot it sags which is way below the melting point. Read the popular mechanics article ignoramus.

  • @ReligionOfNice you are a fool. The steel never melted, the burning temperature of jet fuel is NOT HOT ENOUGH to weaken or melt steel. The ENTIRE column structure would also NOT have weakened! The "top" of the building was disintegrated when it began to collapse, therefore THERE WAS NO WEIGHT TO PUSH DOWN ON THE REST OF THE COLUMN. Aluminum? wtf???? HAHAHAHH....that has NOTHING to do with this! POPULAR MECHANICS AHAHAHA.. Architects and Engineers for 9/11 truth DEBUNKED that shit propaganda

  • @ReligionOfNice you are brainwashed FOOL for trusting your stupid lying murdering GOVERNMENT. Your popular mechanics is a crap shitty hit piece written to defend the State's lies. Architects and engineers for 9/11 truth have debunked that crap. and what about the NANO-THERMITE moron???? You COMPLETELY ignored that point. And what about the flight data recorder inconsistencies and absurdities??? You IGNORED that completely as well! Fools have EMOTIONAL BLOCKS to admitting 9/11 was a fake psy op

  • Arabic numerals actually came out of India, but were brought into Europe from Arabia.

  • @CurtHowland ... The Muslims added the decimal point :-)

  • @tdot22 Wrong, that was Flemish mathematician, Stevin that invented the decimal point. It was popularized by Naipler, another Christian.

  • @ReligionOfNice ..... I'm afraid you ar wrong .....

    en. wikipedia . org / wiki / Abu%27l-Hasan_al-Uqlidisi

  • @CurtHowland Duh, the Muslims took over the hub of civilization at the time by conquest, burning libraries in the process. The Byzantine empire preserved much of Greek literature even after they finally fell. The Muslims kept their prey alive as Jizya slaves, and didn't manage to destroy everything. Most of the stuff was preserved by non-Muslims. Sure there were many Muslims who could see past Islam to respect true knowledge, but generally things when downhill.

  • @ReligionOfNice It was a Christian mob that burned the Libraries at Alexandria and elsewhere, leading to an absence of books in Europe for hundreds of years.

Chinese Mandarins burned the maps and logs of the navigator Zeng He around 1435.

Book bannings and burnings under the various totalitarian regimes in the 20th century are well documented.

The reality of human nature is that whoever it is in power at the time will destroy anything that tends to undermine that power.

  • This is one of the most enlightening and learned lectures I've ever heard - and his message is absolutely crucial to hear in our times of hysterical Islamophobia.

  • @jatucker321 It's Muslim apoligia, nothing more. Much of it false. A religion that condones slavery, bans commerce in many goods, bans interest, mandates taxation on others for being non-believers, mandates Sharia, has innumerable double standards, is NOT compatible with freedom of any kind.

  • yet another great contribution by the mises institute

  • Ludwig vin Mises Institute would have a question about a culture. That suddenly appearing culture. Did it "pop out of nowhere" or was it aknowledhed internationally?

  • America's leaders are satanic

  • Whats with all this rubbish about Mises and Religion shouldn't mix o.O ?

  • @MrAlpruitt Mises and antisemitism should mix, he was a Jew. Also the LvMI and oil tick money should not mix. This is just another example of an ideology becoming so obsessed with hatred of America that they join in with the enemies not only of America but of freedom everywhere. LvMI might as well invited Nazis, and Marxists to join in. They too want to destroy America.

  • @ReligionOfNice "Mises and antisemitism should mix, he was a Jew" What? Because Mises was a Jew...we should be antisemetic? I don't follow. Their ideology doesn't really hate America. By itself it is not anti-american. The people over there resent intervention by the u.s government, and u.s government support of dictatorships and israel. They don't want to destroy America, they want America out of the middle easy.

Pretty much everyone at LVMI understands this. ^^

  • True. America OUT of the Middle East!

  • The Koran and the hadiths have nice pleasant parts, and horrifically violent parts. Moderates and apologists quote the nice parts, and extremists, terrorists, and tea partiers quote the violent parts.

  • @TreachMarkets So it would appear. But the orthodox Islamic doctrine of Abrogation means that all the peaceful verses in the Quran from Muhammad's early time in Mecca when he was in a minority are superceded by the war-like verses from his later time in Medina where he set up his statelette. The year One in the Muslim calendar dates not from his birth or his first revelation but from the establishment of his political empire. Again, this is undisputed, orthodox, mainstream historical Islam.

  • @TreachMarkets The "nice parts" are few, vague, and in context are actually not so appealing in context. If after a long rant on how evil blacks, how they should be exterminated unless they pay tribute, one sentence says "Let them live with their skin color" that does not count as "nice".

  • Mises Institue, The next time you upload a video that ties in with Religion; Do everyone a favor and Disable the comments.

  • @ITheProfessorI Why? You want to suppress open conversation so we only hear dogma from an apologist? Of course you do.

  • Wow, this talk was so interesting. I'm a Latin-American of Arabic descent. If you track down the history of middle eastern families, in Dominican Republic at least (my country of origin), pretty much all of them arrived in the beginning of the 20th century impoverished; yet now almost all of those families have been the most successful breed of entrepreneurs -except for mine for some reason : /. Arabs have commerce in their blood. They're culture fostered it for centuries.

  • Ottoman Empire's invasions of Europe started in the 14th century.... ended in the 19th century. Those were economic wars, attempts to colonize.

  • This is the same baloney where the Qur'an is a scientific document. He skims over all the bad stuff, like banning of interest, banning of all sorts of other things. The first Muslims were caravan raiders, slavers and a whole bunch of other bad things. Islam in fact is a religion of the State, and is all about merging the State with religion. One of the first things Muhammad would do would be to threaten peaceful neighbors to pay a tax, convert or die.

  • @ReligionOfNice

    Banning interest is bad?

What else is banned that you see as "Bad?"

The first Muslims were persecuted and tortured and did not fight back until they will told to do so, please don't say that again without knowing what you are talking about.

There was no threat from Muhammad, only ones who "felt" threatened were the pagans who made business off of the ignorant who would pay into the system of "idols" and bury their first born daughters as part of a "social order"

  • @ITheProfessorI Lets see...banning pork, alcohol, porn, free speech, freedom of religion and dogs as pets (because dogs are "dirty"...asshole-licking cats are A-okay) all come to mind as bad things to ban. And yes, banning interest is bad, such a thing should be left to the lending institution and the customer.

  • @kev3d

Alcohol, Porn & Pork I don't think i need to defend?

Free Speech is something you need to read up on. The purpose of Freedom Of Speech was doctrined for 3 main reasons ( that have been forgotten about )

    1. To Hold governments accountable

    2. Freedom to learn in the sciences

    3. I forget the 3rd

And these are to be based off of a "Moral ground"

Meaning, not just to talk crap because you can, that defeats the purpose of it existanting in the first place.

    Check this out

    bit . ly / hOfcSG

  • Continued:

Remove the spaces in that link I put and read into the Islamic Caliphates, they did enact Freedom Of Speech as you will see.

Who said dogs aren't allowed as pets? They aren't allowed to be in the house I think is the right frame because they are guard animals, they are to be outside, in a free space, not confined.

A cat is not the same lol

Interest is banned because it's usury. You are making money for lending money when you are to make money from productivity not lending.

  • @ITheProfessorI Islamic Jurists say Dogs are not allowed as pets. Muhammad was particularly afraid of black dogs, calling them devils. The modern defense is that he was talking about rabies...but rabies has nothing to do with fur color. If Allah was really merciful, he (god has a penis, apparently) he would have all animals free of disease. And again, who cares if the lender makes money by lending? I WANT lenders to profit so they can help out more people in the long run.

  • @kev3d He called them devils according to who or what? Some guy named Bukhari who was born 200 years after his death in an area where arabic wasn't even the native language? According to Quran no such thing is mentioned, whatever Muhammad's personal habits were are not meant to become law despite what even Muslims will tell you. Quran alone is the law- forget the contradictory hadith and things start to make sense pretty easily.

  • @Bowser2398 I don't have to regard the hadith as anything but garbage. I reject them all along with the quran and bible and torah, except as pieces of Mesopotamian literature, myth and poetry. But then again, I am not the one rioting over cartoons, forcing women to cover up, blowing up buildings, cutting off heads of "infidels", hanging homosexuals or stoning adulterers. Convince Muslims to abandon the hadith, all of them, and you just might redeem the religion.

  • @kev3d Sure- I always try to convince people to abandon the false hadith just because they're so easy to disprove in every way possible, they always contradict actual history. There are illiterate people out there that have turned muhammad into a God(which of course is to be forbidden in Quran). The problem is YOU don't help anyone at all in this whole world with all the anger you have. You won't convince anyone of your positions with the way you talk. Why keep blowing hot air?

  • @Bowser2398 And I try to convince people to abandon the stupid faith altogether. If good can be achieved without religion, and the religion is used to justify evil, then why bother with the religion at all except to satisfy some superstitious belief in "paradise" and a pork hating deity? I highly doubt you go around during the Hajj proclaiming "the hadith are false". It is true, I have hate. I hate all institutions that preach absurdity and dark-age philosophy. But I attack with words only.

  • @Bowser2398 The Qur'an wasn't written till much later either. So there you go. Plus Mohammad lied and said it was written at the beginning of time. If so then why does it contain fragments of Jewish stories, and Jewish analysis of Jewish stories that had been built up over centuries. Fragments and misunderstandings of what those stories were truly about. Quite obviously plagiary.

Quran is evil anyway. Full of instructions to hate and commit crimes.

  • @ReligionOfNice Huh? Anyone who reads Quran knows when it was written, and not at the beginning of time. Any quotations that Muhammad said such a thing is proven false by virtue of whats written in Quran itself. Its supposed to be a continuation of the Judeo-Christian faith of COURSE its going to have the stories of the past. Do you even know what plagiarizing is?

  • @ITheProfessorI You are one ignorant fool. Dogs aren't merely guard animals. Different breeds have different roles in different societies. We don't need to arrange our lives like some violent desert dwellers who only have one breed of dog.

Lending money is productive you moron.

  • @ITheProfessorI No, I will defend porn, pork and alcohol. Like anything else, it is a matter of personal responsibility. And your basis of "freedom of speech" has nothing to do with government or learning science. Freedom of speech is the freedom to speak freely, for whatever reason the speaker wishes. Freedom is a means AND an end. So yes, a speaker can "talk crap" all he or she wants because it might not be crap to them. It does not "defeat the purpose".

  • @kev3d

    You left out porn lol

That's fine, you do that. The problem here is, you are trying to impose a secular liberalism viewpoint to a religious viewpoint, you're going to come into barricades because of that.

I spoke on how the foundations and people who brought up Freedom Of Speech intended it for, it is what I said. You are giving the ignorant view point ( no offense )

Look up the history on it.

  • Continued:

I haven't seen that ruling, if you have it, link me to it. If you want, i can link you to the one I know of.

You saying God ( then saying he has a penis because God is male ) shows a reason why Muslims say Allah instead of God. Allah is a neutral name, cannot be split or added on like Goddess, Godfather, Etc.

Simply Allah is the most perfect neutral word that bears no sex.

Sexes are a "creation", since he is the creator, that doesn't apply.

  • @ITheProfessorI Of course, I jest about the genitals of Allah, Allah has no genitals because Allah does not exist. It is a complete failure of the Quran to constantly refer to Allah as "He" when classical Arabic was perfectly capable of using "it". So either the author (be he an illiterate warlord or later scribes) meant to say Allah was male, or they were terrible at writing).

  • @ITheProfessorI So Allah is sort of like an amoeba or paramecium, quite asexual. An it. Your Qur'an is surely flawed as it calls it a he. Plus the Qur'an speaks in third person about the all knowing it, Allah. Why would Allah write about himself in third person, or even plural third person. Is he the equivalent of a child that hasn't gotten through his language class yet. When talking about what it wants in the Qur'an the proper word is "I". I command, not he commands.

  • @ITheProfessorI What about porn? It is also a matter of freedom of expression, commerce and entertainment, and as I pointed out, a matter of personal responsibility. Who do you think owns Youtube? How do you think Goggle earns a significant portion of it's earnings? Through porn. Anyway, such as it is, keep your backward, hypocritical religious viewpoint, drink all the zam zam and touch all the black rocks you want. But keep the jizya and sharia to yourself.

  • @kev3d

Yea, I'm sure if your mother or daughter engaged in it, you'd say "It's a form of expression"

    Be realistic will you?

As for the critique on the Qur'an using He or It is fallacious. To say "It" implies a thing, He ( which is understood across the board that God made Man in his image ) makes more sense, wouldn't you think?

Now comes the libel "Keep your backwards, hypocritical, etc. viewpoint"

I never asked you to take it, why are you rejecting without knowing?

    Way to be open lol

  • @ITheProfessorI Once again, what one does is up to them. What don't you understand about personal responsibility? Besides, what is porn? Everyone has a different definition. Therefore it is up to the individual to decide what their standard. If whatever god exists doesn't like it, then that should should make humans reproduce by spores. Furthermore, if "It" implies a thing, then "He" implies a male. Plain and simple.

  • @kev3d

There are different definitions of porn? Are you really going to pull out the lawyer card with this? aha

I think there is a general understanding on what is and isn't porn lol.

As for He and it, in words yes, I said as for defining God as a male or female, like different from one another by sex, is something that doesn't apply to God.

As for stating personal responsibility, again, you're imposing this viewpoint from a secular liberal viewpoint, not a religious one.

  • Continued:

    What I mean is this:

Every society has a structure on how it views society and how it sees society to be civilized.

    The U.S. has the constitution

England it's own and so forth.

Sharia has it's own and if one were to live under it, the whole structure would be understood as a "Whole"

    Same with the U.S. Constitution.

But when you start picking apart and view this piece that piece, etc. then it won't make too much sense.

This is what you are doing by stating 1 or 2 things.

  • @ITheProfessorI You are not making any goddamned sense at all. U.S. society isn't "structured" by the Constitution. The Constitution is a framework for the federal government; that's it. It doesn't tell people how to live or what to wear or what to listen to. In fact, the best societies are not "structured" from the top down at all, but rather through voluntary exchange of ideas, labor, capital and goods.

  • @kev3d

lol The U.S. Constitution was the framework that derived from a certain "viewpoint" that stemmed from Christian Europe.

Again, this goes back to what I said, The Adam Smiths and others spoke and fought for Freedom Of Expression as a reaction to the oppression of the Church.

Take what I said, put them all together, you are missing what i say previously.

  • @ITheProfessorI Adam Smith was a Scottish economist. You are mistaking him with Thomas Paine.

  • @kev3d

Apparently you don't know of Adam Smith's works, look into him and his associates like Hume.

As for saying we are equal to animals, suit yourself lol.

As for what is porn, nudity is simply because it showcases that which is intended to be covered ( like the books state, both bible and the Qur'an. Modesty )

A perfect creator creates perfect things is such a cheeky argument. If we were meant to be perfect, we would be robots with no purpose lol

    Come on now...

    Go watch the video...

  • @ITheProfessorI If god is "perfect", then he is a robot with no purpose. See how that works? All religions are different, but they all have one thing in common; an excuse as to why their god does not talk to people directly, peacefully and convincingly. Instead they have to resort to cryptic books with doubtful authorship, superstitions (like Muhammad's fear of Black Dogs) and ancient, obsolete customs.

  • @kev3d

"If God is perfect then he is a robot with no purpose"

Wrong. God transcends things we understand. Humans, animals, time, space, etc. So to try and put him into it isn't right.

Actually religions aren't, Some Evangelicals claim to talk to the lord ( which is laughable )

If you tried to talk to God and he responded, your head would blow up.

Muhammad, when receiving revelations, use to break out in convulsions before reciting the verses revealed.

  • Continued:

When Moses got the 10 Commandments, the mountains shook.

To think you can sit down and converse with such a power is illogical given the proofs of God's power.

Again you bring up the Black dog, quote me where you got this from. He actually had a dog in his house in one of the Hadiths, I can find it if you want me to.

"If Sharia isn't implemented correctly, then it is useless" <---- YES!!! There you go, you got it now lol

  • Continued 2:

To understand why the countries don't implement it gets into politics.

After the fall of the Ottoman Empire, the imperialists ( France, UK and US ) came in and divided up the lands, making states, dividing the people, propping up leaders that would later come to be dictators ( like Mubarak, The Saudi's, Jordan's Monarchy, Etc.)

And they are heavily funded by the U.S. today to keep the people down and the oil flowing and bases planted

    Those that fight back are....terrorists...\o/

  • @ITheProfessorI There is no doubt that some western powers have exerted their influence on some muslim countries, but the House of Saud was established before the United States even existed. Calling the US, France or UK imperialist is the pot calling the kettle Black. Again, I point to Timur the Lame, and the Muslim conquests of Turkey, Spain and North Africa. Syria, Iran, Libya...these are not powers friendly to the US or France or the UK, yet they are still oppressive shit-holes.

  • @ITheProfessorI But really, what would be different in Saudi Arabia if "the people" were in charge? Women would be free to vote, drive cars, and have multiple husbands? Would free speech be allowed and non-muslims be allowed to visit Mecca? Turkey is one of the only Muslim majority country that resembles a modern nation because it is a secular state. UAE is trying; by building bars, restaurants, co-ed swimming pools and so on.

  • @kev3d In what part of hadith or Quran does it say women are not allowed to vote, or drive cars? The gov't of saud is just completely insane. When it comes to multiple marriages- this wasn't some weird polygamist all you can sex buffet like you're picturing in your head. Multiple marriage was only allowed if #1 all women agree, and the purpose of it was to bring a poor woman into your house who couldn't take care of herself, not to satisfy lust.

  • @Bowser2398 Well specifically, voting is not a quranic virtue anyway, and needless to say, cars are not mentioned. But the Saudi, Iranian, Syrian, Jordanian and Malaysian (to a lesser extent) can justify their subjugation of women because of the Quran. As for multiple marriages, Women are not put in a place to disagree with their husband and it is far harder for a divorced woman to live independently. And besides, if a man can have multiple wives, she should be allowed multiple husbands.

  • @kev3d Yeah, and voting not being a virtue where do they get off bitching about all the dictatorships they set up, and blaming it on us. According to their religion we are doing them a favor if we are not allowing them to vote.

  • @ReligionOfNice Lol I just realized you're just some angry kid. Grow up buddy. "You" aren't contributing anything to ANYTHING at all. so how about you stop using phrases such as "blaming it on us". You are not "us"- no one cares enough about you.

  • @kev3d You say they justify their subjugation of women because of Quran- but they don't. Women can disagree with their husbands all day if they want to- if you were to go by Islamic rules. Are there some unfortunate cultural rules in certain places? Sure, but its nothing to do with religion.

  • @Bowser2398 Not according to Sura 4:34. After all, "good" women are obedient, if they are not, they can be beaten. Of course it is much easier for men to divorce their wives than wives divorce their husbands. Then there are the ridiculous rules for when a woman can have sex after a divorce, or menstruation.

  • @Bowser2398 Also, consider the pitiful math with multiple marriage, even if only 5% of men have a full compliment of 4 wives, that means 80% of the remaining women are left for the 95% of men. Even if we assume there are a few more women than men, you still have an overall shortage of women...NO WONDER so many Muslim men are sexually frustrated, confused and violent. Forced to feel shame of even masturbating, should we be surprised so many turn to extremism?

  • @kev3d The saving grace is that, much like Christians, many Muslims DON'T ACTUALLY BELIEVE in most of their own tenets. They will pray (sometimes)and avoid pork or booze and might even make a Hajj one in their lives. But they will shave their beards or not wear hijabs, they will be just as materialistic as everyone else, have dogs as pets, not pay a Zakat, swear, and even have a friend or two who are "enemies of the religion", such as myself.

  • @kev3d The women must agree to the marriage, most of them don't. Historically there are always more women than men since men die early for all sorts of reasons. Now you are talking about muslim men being sexually frustrated, confused, and violent? I am none of those things and neither is anyone I know. Your collectivization goes far enough, do you just sit in a room all day wallowing in your own anger? At this point I don't think you're older than 15

  • @Bowser2398 Yes the old argument that Mohammad was just providing charity to a bunch of old widows. More like a dirty old man of 55 having the most beautiful 35 year old sex objects, while also getting a bunch of female sex slaves. Come back to us when the Red Cross starts whoring out the Japanese Tsunami victims. Then at that point we'll believe that polygamy is about charity.

  • That's because you're a 13 year old kid that only thinks of the relationship between men and women to be sexual.

  • @Bowser2398 His wives fought over who would be serviced by him, including his child bride. It's all documented in Islamic religious texts. He wouldn't let them divorce so they could get sex elsewhere. One of his wives was already married to his adoptive son but he saw her scantily clad and next thing you know "Allah" is telling his son to divorce her so that he can marry her. His heaven isn't a place not where one elevates oneself above worldly things but indulges in carnal pleasure.

  • @Bowser2398 Adults know that marriage involves sex, unlike children. My whole point is that there can be relationships between men and women that do not involve sex. If he truly wanted to provide charity there was no need to marry them. Many of them were quite marketable in the marriage department. A 6 year old kid isn't exactly an old maid.

  • @ITheProfessorI I want to state again, you are free to practice your faith, no matter how absurd. You are even free to try to convince others to join your Kaaba circling, black rock touching, jinn fearing, zam zam drinking, beard growing ways. But what you do not have the right to do is force me or anyone else to accept or even respect your religion. Just as you are free to mock, ignore or speak against Atheism, I am free to do the same to Islam.

  • @ITheProfessorI The "Imperialists" divided up, not the land, but the Ottoman EMPIRE which was itself an imperialist dominion. How do you make and empire? Imperialism. ... and how do you maintain it? Terror.

You stupid Muslims pick your own leaders, and it's might makes right with you. You have thugs all over the planet running your countries. What do you think the US put Iranian leaders in place. It is only natural for an authoritarian religion to generate authoritarian leaders.

  • @ITheProfessorI Bukhari Hadith Vol. 4, #540, and Specifically Black Dogs; Abu Dawud #2839 and Muslim #3813

You don't get it do you, Sharia is impotent and useless because it CANNOT be implemented "correctly". It is always oppressive.

  • @kev3d Sharia isn't to be "forced on anyone" and certainly false hadiths like the one you are quoting(Bukhari would not be a reliablie source to any real historian, but people cling to his words as gospel when Quran is already all the law that was necessary).

  • @ITheProfessorI yes, some evangelicals claim to speak to whatever god they believe in, but that is not what I said. I said all religions are the same in that they all make excuses for why god does not talk to EVERYONE, peacefully and convincingly. You are doing it now. Is it not funny how god, in his "transcending of everything" is so petty as to have his prophet Muhammad afraid of black dogs? Or Pork? He can't find a better way to communicate than a poorly written book?

  • @ITheProfessorI LOL. If only Allah talking to you via the Qur'an would cause your head to blow off. Muhammad was mentally disturbed and that's why he had convulsions. Convulsions where at the end he would say, "Allah says lets go raid the neighbors, steal their stuff, chop off their heads, and take the woman as booty. BTW, he also says that I get one fifth."

  • @ITheProfessorI If it was intended to be covered then why didn't Allah make us with fur? I'll tell you why, he doesn't exist. We evolved to lose our hair.

  • @kev3d You give him way too much credit.

  • @ITheProfessorI Slavery, double standards, rape, pedophilia, caravan raiding, torturing booty out of ones victims by putting a fire on their chest, murdering mothers in front of their children, etc. These things never make sense even as a whole. Sharia is based on the behavior and teachings of a monster.

  • @ITheProfessorI No, there is not a single definition of porn, and it has changed throughout history in all cultures. To some, Michelangelo's David was pornographic, to others, it is art. What is acceptable or desirable to one, may be revolting to another. Images of sexual congress can be for sexual stimulation, medical understanding or even humor.
