(Sorry for not replying to this sooner, but it didn't show up on my Subs list until now.) Oh man, I COMPLETELY agree with you. I just got in an argument with someone over the "acceptable" usage of "that's so gay." People argue that it's okay to say that because they they aren't trying to insult gay people with it, and EVERYONE does it, but then why not just use, "That's so STUPID," if that's what you really mean. Just because most people are ignorant doesn't give you an excuse to be a douche.

Cont.: The sad part is, our schools in America don't teach about ACCEPTING gays and bisexuals (BTW, I hate the word "tolerance" because it connotes that gays/bisexuals are annoyances that people are required to put up with--the word we should be using is "acceptance"). In the UK and many other parts in Europe, they educate their students about the history of LGBT rights, and as a result their children are a lot more progressive and accepting.

Cont.: I'm pretty pissed that my U.S. history year didn't mention Stonewall or any of the LGBT revolution movements in history. If the U.S. curriculum keeps pretending one of their most important minority groups don't exist, we'll keep breeding adults who are just as bigoted as the last generation. BTW, the Ellen Degeneres clip was VERY effective in illustrating just how homophobic children nowadays still are. This needs to change, or more senseless shit like that will happen again.

Cont.: And don't even talk to me about our great President OBAMA. He's doing great about every issue right now except the issue of LGBT rights. It's pretty clear now that he is very hesitant to support gays, whether it be because he doesn't want to lose the support of more conservative Democrats, or if it's because he's a Christian and it violates his morals or something. I really hope that one day we get a leader that fully supports LGBT rights, as they are full citizens of our country, too.

Thank you AMY! Goodness, I believe the same thing and I have the same argument as well. Thank you for sharing that comment, because it's so true and I'm glad you're getting it out there too. It amazes me people's ignorance is like that of dominoes, once someone pushes is out, all the others follow. Yes, people shouldn't use that term in any way. A different sexual orientation shouldn't be used in a negative matter at all.

Yes, I agree. People don't realize because of their ignorance, is that we have been living with different kinds of sexual orientation for centuries since the ancient times. Over the years it changed when religion start showing itself, and it did not change for the better, but as you can see, for the worse.

It's amazing to think people can be so brutal and yet consider themselves humane and civil, better than animals.

The tables need to be turned, people need to see how it feels to be the one discriminated against, whether we're talking race, sexuality, gender, anything so far beyond control.

The amount of straight people who don't seem to realise that the same way they don't actively choose to be straight, bisexual people, gay people, lesbians, etc. They don't choose either.

Gays and bis also have the right to be Prom King and Queen. I don't know if I should write this out, but a senior I knew in Shakespearre Society was gay. Amazing actor and good person. He won Prom King (although I heard he wanted to be Prom Queen but I don't know if that is a joke or not.) People asked why and laughed about it. I didn't find it funny. Why did he win...BECAUSE HE WAS FUCKIN' POPULAR!

well, at the beginning I did too. but then you said like how does that make you feel? Hell is a place for the wicked, the evil incarnates. All these people are childish, keeping thoughts narrow minded. Men with men was a thought strange to me when I was in fifth grade, since I had always seen men with women. I didn't think it right. But, as I grew and experienced life, and even saw more and more famous people be gay, they could do as they please, & it didn't matter to me.

As I have matured through time, I've realized that no matter what group of people you like, your still a person (probably when I was in jr. high, 4 yrs.). To me, if I had a gay friend, it would not matter. Even when people say someone is gay, it might come as a surprise, if I didn't know at first, but it still doesn't matter. Nathan Lane, Ellen, Freddie Mercury, all gay, but still great people. Even Adam Lambert (American Idol this season) gay, great singer, amazing actor.

What a message C-MQ. I'm straight, but I've always been supportive of gay rights. My Uncle managed to get married before that could be taken away from him, and he's sucessfully adopted two wonderful little girls who I'm proud to have as my cousins. People are attracted to what they are attracted to. You can't change such a preference. Acceptance is the first step in this road.

Tomas, that wasn't what my video was about. It was about bigots who tell us these things like I was saying in my video. They blame us a lot and try to destroy us. It's not about straight people, it's about BIGOTS who try to keep us in fear. Hence the title "Bigots." and then of course "When the tables are turned." is something I use when I turn the tables on them.

I understand what you mean, but it wouldn't of made sense on that level. It's about a persons sexual orientation, even though it towards bigots, they attack our sexual orientation therefore hence the word "when the tables are turned." I attack their sexual orientation unfairly and put the same ridiculous claims on them that they put upon us.
